I landed in Raleigh for a training class and was looking for something to do on Friday night. I decided to look on yelp and see if I could find a masseuse in the area. I saw several out there but most closed before I got out of class. There were a couple that were larger establishments but I don't always like those because I hate feeling rushed. I love smaller places where the emphasis is on relaxation. I found massage by Amanda and left a message at her office. She called me back promptly and I describe what I was looking for, where I was hurting, and asked for her recommendation. She booked me in and I eagerly awaited the appointment. I arrived at her office and was immediately excited Her office just radiated "relax". Everything was soft and muted with a peaceful mellow feel to it. I loved the soft lighting and her calm demeanor. She made me feel at home. The massage was an hour long but I wished it had been longer. I find that masseuses fall into the kind that don't talk and the kind that so. Amanda was a refreshing breath of both. I tend to talk when nervous and we talked a lot during the fray part of the massage. Liking back I realize she read me and as I began to relax and enjoy the way she worked out the tight muscles, and consequently wasn't talking as much, she talked less too. Never distracted but fully concentrated on reducing my stress, she was a master at her task. After the hour I left feeling so much better and convinced Id be sleeping deeper than ever that night. I've had many types of massages for the last 45 plus years, this one was in the top three. I then had a complimentary introduction to a facial with Karen.
