My cat touched several things in that room that were covered in other pets' fur and bodily functions. Our cat was sick for about a week, and he passed it to one of our other cats who is having a rougher experience. We are always cautious about what we bring into the home and none of our cats are outdoor cats. My cats are never sick and they are all between 2-3 years of age. Even if the illness was just coincidence, it still stands that their clinic is filthy and they need to sterilize between each pet, just as you would for humans. I received a quote of around $550. The person that gave me, the quote said that it could be higher based on teeth needing to be pulled, which I understood. Once the vet had my dog under anesthesia, he did call me and tell me that there were eight teeth that need to be pulled. He said he was kind of alarmed by that, but I told him to go ahead and pull the teeth. He talked about x-rays and filling some pockets with a material to help further protect the dog from gum, disease, and teeth issues. My exact words to him were just pull the teeth for now. To my surprise when I picked up the dog, the bill was $1500. I spoke to the vet and another employee about my bill. They gave me a $70 credit. I do not feel that I should have to pay for the x-rays or any fees associated with filling the pockets. The teeth extractions amount of to $600. At the most my bill should've been $1200. Lesson learned. Going forward, make sure this office sends you a text message with the exact cost of anything that will be done to your pet. In my opinion, that should be a standard process.
