I can't speak highly enough about the care my dog has received from the staff at Pine Valley Veterinary Clinic. After getting the run around for months from a very highly regarded clinic that's much closer to our house I started calling around. From the jump PVVC was the first place that didn't make me feel like getting someone on the phone was an inconvenience. My dudes ears were extremely infected. It wasn't enough to qualify for an emergency, but needed to be addressed quickly. They got him in the same day and treated him with so much kindness and care. It was great. We had our follow up today and was met with that same level of care. I'm not one who has a lot of triggers, but I was asked before his vaccinations if I needed to leave before they got out any needles. That meant a lot to me. They care about their humans as much as the pets. Even though it's out of the way, I will continue to support Pine Valley Veterinary Clinic because honestly, they provide a level of care I've barely recognized in hooman hospitals. read more

We were treated with kindness as soon as we walked into the clinic. Our Pekingese, who was a rescue, can be very shy and timid at times, especially in different environments. The staff knew his history and made sure he had plenty of treats and love. Dr. Ben Ealing was wonderful. Very knowledgeable, kind and actually took the time to answer all of our questions thoroughly. Out of all the veterinary clinics in town, I couldn't have picked a better one for our pit bull. She was recently in a fight with a raccoon and luckily, she won but had some battle wounds. The staff was very sweet with her and the vet, Dr. Funnell, got down on the floor with her to do the examination. When they had to sedate her to clean the wounds, they let her stay in the room with me instead of taking her away. They brought a gurney in to carry her to the back, but she was struggling to stand up and walk, so the vet lifted her and carried her. so she wouldn't struggle. When she was starting to come out of sedation, they brought a soft blanket in to put on the floor and then brought her back in so she could wake up with someone familiar. They thought of her comfort and feelings the whole time. I've been to similar vets before, but not to the extent Pine Valley went to. The next day, Dr. Funnell called to check on her and answered any other questions I had. Can't say enough nice things about her and the staff. Also, thank you to the 2 reviewers that left reviews on this clinic. If it wasn't for them, I wouldn't have even considered this clinic because I wouldn't have taken her anywhere that didn't have 5 stars and positive reviews and would have missed out on the best vet clinic around. read more

I would give them 10 stars, if I could. Every pet that my family has had/have goes there. We moved to Chicago 8 years ago and still drive our Yorkie back to see the doctors at PVVC. He gets regular checkups and has had his teeth cleaned twice. We see all of the doctors and always have a wonderful experience with each of them (along with the nurses!). The front desk is always friendly and helpful. We really like the Petly website that they have- it allows you to add info about your pet or access past visits, vaccines, etc. This is helpful after-hours or emergencies. For our Yorkie's teeth cleaning: Dr. Schenkel explained tooth by tooth and why it was extracted. She really helped me understand everything. They do not do any unnecessary procedures. We highly recommend- it's worth a three hour drive for us!! read more

Took my soon to be one year old Husky to the clinic for eye irritation, excessive eye buggers, and discomfort. The doctor was extremely rude the entire time. When I was asking questions about the prescribed medication and eye drops she was rushing us out! Fast forward days later, my dog cannot see! We ran many test on him including putting his favorite toy in front of his face and waving it, he didn't flinch. It breaks my heart that this happening to my dog right now! This could of probably been prevented if the doctor wasn't so stuck up her butt! read more

Great experience here bringing my Mom's senior cat. He did great...was not scared at all. He is long haired and had several hair mats that they combed out or shaved off if they needed to do that. He looks and feels great. Once in the past, we took him to a "groomer," to get rid of his mats and they totally shaved him...that was an awful experience. This was an excellent experience all around. They also called us the next business day to let us know his blood results looked good. I think my Mom feels good about bringing him back for help with his mats and healthcare in the future. Our 5 yo kitty had an inflamed bladder a few years after bladder blocking. We called and even though the clinic wasn't technically taking new patients for a week, the amazing staff found room to see Stitch within the hour! Good price too and he came home with some pills and special food later that day. read more

We highly recommend PVVC, as a wonderful pet friendly clinic!!! The front desk is always friendly and helpful and we love Dr. Funnell. She is always so caring and will-even get down on the floor with Harley to examine him. She puts him at ease and he loves going to see her. She takes time to answer all your questions and gives you options for any situation that comes up. Dr. Funnell would go that extra mile for you to help with your pets needs. We had an emergency with our dog and this was not our normal vet, but they took us when no one else could. The staff was friendly, supportive and accommodating. They were so patient and allowed us the time we needed to say goodbye, without feeling any pressure for us to leave, many of the staff stayed late to help us. We are so grateful for that time and will definitely use them as our vet when we are ready for a new dog. read more

They take such good care of my cat. I am an overprotective new "parent" and they are so kind, understanding, & more than willing to answer my plethora of questions. To say my cat is skiddish is the understatement of the century. She hates the vet, but the doctor and staff are all painfully patient with her. Bless their kind, cat-loving souls.
