Do not go here the owner is awful(Jena Massie ) I had heard awful things about her and her nastiness but I offered to give it a try because of the location. I had got two gift certificates that I did not know one expired I gave them to the receptionist upon arrival and she said it was all good. When it came time to check out she said I'm sorry it had expired and I had to pay full price . I asked to speak to the owner and she was beyond rude over the phone she didn't even give me a Chance to talk !!! She threatened to call the cops when I NEVER once said I wouldn't pay I just didn't understand why they wouldnt accept it !! She wouldn't hear me out and accused me of things that never happened I left there crying after I had a horrible neck pain and a awful week and feel like I was set up and I have never been treated so awful like that in my entire life and if she has anything bad to say on this post all I have to say to this is please watch the cameras and I have receipts 'nn because no one should ever feel scammed this bad !! I paid the full price even though I had a gift certificate just because it wasn't worth the aggravation and I will never I step foot in Serenity in kingwood ever again!! The sad thing about it is I was warned about this place, but I'm one of those people that like to give small businesses a try for myself before hearing rumors and going based on on what they say!! . But after how I was treated but the actual the owner I feel as though people should be warned by all the facts !!! This isn't slander this is pure experience !!! You should never leave a business crying and feeling like you were scammed !!! Please beware !!! After I left she harassed me and wrote me an unduly saying not to slander her business but it's not slander if it's all facts. I mean maybe she was having an off day and I could try to give her grace and pray for her and I will but no one should ever feel the way I did today for how I was treated for no reason at all, I was accused of something I would never do and I was threatened to have the cops called on me for no reason and i have the evidence of the cameras on my side even the therapist and receptionist didn't know what to do I felt awful to them because she put them in a terrible position , but obviously she needed it more than I did and if you need to scam people to keep a business running then your doing something wrong and I pray for her and her business that it stay afloat the right way !!! But I will speak the truth with facts and warn people I'm close with that they don't have the same experience I did alone with others that told me about this place !!! While home visiting family my husband and I decided we were going to get a date in together. We've got three kids, he's active duty, so it's a rare occasion for us to have someone watch the kids and get a date in. We scheduled for a morning appointment, and unfortunately one of the massage therapists didn't show up. We waited for 15 minutes, the two ladies who were there tried reaching out to other therapists to come in. Anyways, one didn't show, so my husband gave up his massage after waiting an hour while I got one since he insisted I do. Fast forward later that day Jena, the owner of the Spa calls me. I missed the call and she left a voicemail, but she requested us to come back in for a comped couples massage to make things right. She was sweet and accommodating while very understanding of our situation. We will definitely be returning as the customer service was amazing, regardless of one massage therapist not showing up, the massages felt amazing and made us feel like whole new people, and the atmosphere was relaxing and calming. I like this place. It is not completely posh, but it's not a stripped down joint either. They have a nice enough waiting area with massaging recliners and their receptionist is friendly and helpful. For my first visit, they gave me a questionnaire to fill out to tell them about my different expectations and health issues. When my therapist came and got me, we went over the list and discussed things nicely. Once that was over, it was time for a massage. Since I was there for relaxation and to take care of some stiffness and pain I have due to working at a computer all day, she did a mix of Swedish and trigger point massage. It was heavenly. Yolanda did a great job of using medium pressure in general and then apply more firm pressure at the trigger points. A+ I really felt much better when I was done. The prices are reasonable as well. They offer a discounted first timer's massage that is an exceptional value and their usual rate is good. I went to this establishment several times and though pricey, I was very happy with the results. So much so that I referred several friends there and they also enjoyed their sports massages. When the owner was unavailable for an appointment I was scheduled with someone else and told she does the same style as the owner. That's a joke!! I show up and the girl is smacking her gum...I just had a bad feeling. I specifically asked her to work on two areas that were bothering me. If she spent 5 minutes on those areas during my 60 minute session that was all. The massage felt like a Swedish massage rather than an intense, muscle releasing massage. I would never spend $80 for a frilly experience like this but what choice did I have? I was practically in tears upon leaving at having thrown away my hard earned money. I sent an email expressing my frustration and the owner responds by saying, "I've never had any other complaints about her. I trained her myself." There was no apology, no offer of a discount, nothing. I've given this place hundreds of dollars of my money plus the friends I have referred. I would have expected better customer service than this. Had a massage this morning. They were very friendly from the beginning. The person doing the massage was nice...and did a nice job. I would say the atmosphere/ambience could be a little more relaxing. The room was very small and wasn't as relaxing as most places I've been. The music was very faint...part of the missing ambience. My masseuse was very professional and took care of all of my aches and pains and use the combination of Swedish and deep-tissue as requested. I needed to get a lymph massage and I was very disappointed with the service. The massage was suppose to be for 30 minutes and seem like the lady giving me the massage was her first time given one. It's a lymphatic massage, you don't need to go really hard on the massage, but no so light that I can hardly feel the touch. Very disappointed. I will never go back there. Highly recommend Serenity! I had two massages recently with Mary Alice and both were amazing. Unlike chains I've gone to, they take the time here to figure out what your body is comfortable with as far as pressure and need. Bummed because I am moving but highly recommend them! Samantha, the esthetician, was wonderful!! She made sure my entire experience was relaxing and enjoyable. Elkin!!!!! Elkin!!!!! Elkin!!!! He is the greatest!!!! I have been going to Serenity Massage for several years. I have never been disappointed with Elkin. I am a mature person and have had many massages in the past. No one I have ever had meets the standards of Elkin. He can fix any issues you may encounter. I get massages at least once a month and have been for about 20 years. The Massage from Darlene was the worst god awful massage I have ever received. It was like she had never had any training anywhere and this was her first massage ever. The worst massage I have received from a massage school was 10 times better than her's. I will never go back to serenity massage in Kingwood. What a waste of time and money. I gave 1 star.. but they did not deserve that. read more
