Great place to pick blueberries. When you first arrive, stop into the main building and say hello-…read morethey'll give you a bucket or two. From there, you can either walk across the street to the blueberry fields- or if it's wet (as it was when we were there), you can drive over to the back of the field where the blueberry plants are. This is a "you pick" operation, pick as few or as many as you want and out them in your bucket. When you're done picking, head back to where you picked up the bucket and they'll weigh them. When I was there it was $2 per pound- and my mostly full bucket came out to just under $10. They also have a few other blueberry-related and locally made goods for sale: we picked up the bourbon barrel aged maple syrup which I'm looking forward to trying. One note, it's cash only. And I couldn't tell You where the nearest ATM is, so best bring some cash with you.

Milky Way Farms is a small dairy farm that in addition to producing and selling their own milk,…read morethey also have a small restaurant in their store. I keep thinking one of these days Anthony Bourdain will do a show on rural Pennsylvania and end up at the Milky Way. They produce completely organic milk products including cheese and hamburgers. Having grown up on a dairy farm I have a huge soft spot for the Milky Way. The love affair is also helped by the fact they have the best milkshakes in the world. Every time I'm home I get to drink their milk because my parents still drive out of their way to get their milk here. Their little restaurant has a simple menu that includes sandwiches and burgers. The burgers are awesome. I'm pretty sure they burgers are from their own cows, but cannot confirm this. Either way they are fresh and you can watch the cook prepare them across the counter from you. So if you find yourself in "upstate PA" make a point to set your GPS to send you Milky Way Farms to have a burger and root beer milk shake.
