The shopkeeper was absolutely charming--helpful, kind, and genuinely welcoming. She chatted with my daughter and me while helping us find exactly what we were looking for. Earlier that day, I had seen a sweater I loved at one of the woolen mills, but they didn't have my size. Shades of Erin had it, and the shopkeeper even helped me try it on. The prices were better than those at other stores we visited, and the selection felt thoughtfully curated. My daughter found a sweatshirt she loved, but they didn't have the right size in stock. Without hesitation, the shopkeeper popped down to their other store to check and ended up finding the perfect one for her. This shop provided one of my favorite memories of our trip to Ireland. I highly recommend stopping in.

The clerk said she couldn't issue a credit that only the manager could do a credit. She said I would have to come back the next day. As I was leaving the country that night I couldn't come back to the store. I left the ring with the clerk and told her that when the manager was available I expected to receive a credit. This was in June and now it's September I have yet to receive a credit.

Their prices are pretty reasonable and the person working there was nice. He was walking around the store and restocking whatever needed to be restocked. He wrapped the snow globe I bought so it was a little more protected in my suitcase which I appreciated. This is a cute place that you can quickly walk through, so I would recommend it if you're looking for decently-priced gifts for loved ones!

Kerry, we purchased what we thought was a men's wool sweater. It certainly seemed to be priced as a wool sweater. It was a gift for a family member back home. We found it in the upstairs area of the store. We gave our family member the gift last night only to discover the sweater was made from polyester. What a disappointment. We never thought to actually read the tag (our mistake) because the area of the store seemed to imply that the goods were wool items. This was a bit of an embarrassing mistake. The sweater certainly wasn't priced how we would expect a polyester product to be priced. My advice is to try not to assume, regardless of setting. If you're looking for something authentic, be sure to check the item and tags (if any) thoroughly. The other items we purchased all seem to be as expected.

I would say this is not really a con because the price was reasonable compared to other Irish wool products. The wool seems like it was of higher quality too. I loved this store and the town!!!!!! Quills has friendly staff, and a very big store. There's lots of items for sale, knitted Aran goods from sweaters to beanies to scarves. They also sell traditional Irish gifts. They sell clothing and boots. I had the best experience shopping here. The staff are very knowledgeable about all the knitted goods, and explain the history behind it. As a tourist, this was my best shopping experience in all of the Republic of Ireland! Whenever I make it back to Emerald Isle, I plan on spending the day in Kenmare and visiting this lovely store! I only wish I took pictures of the inside. If you are looking for Irish knits, nice clothing, or other Irish gifts, Quills is the place to be! You can pay with your Visa or Euros.

There is only one place to check out, which some may be used to in such a large store but there are plenty of checkers so the queues go quickly.

It's kind of confusing from the outside and peering through the window, but I promise there is a whole different world up the stairs. We popped in due to one of their window displays, which featured a great shirt. We were on the hunt for this shirt and upstairs we went. We scooped up the shirt and a few other souvenirs for family, then made our way back out to the streets of Killarney. Overall, cool shop to wander around in whether you are looking for formal ladies goods or local souvenirs.

I worked with the lovely proprietress at the hotel in which they were due to stay and she recommended Blooms. I then called them a few days prior to the special day and Alan worked with me to send my sis a perfect bouquet. On the day they were due to arrive, I received an e-mail from my sweet sis and a posting on Facebook with pictures of a stunningly pretty bouquet, a lovely card with the exact wording I suggested, all waiting for her when she arrived to the lovely Arbutus hotel in Killarney! My telephone call early one morning with Alan at Blooms all the way from America to Ireland was absolutely fabulous. He treated me as though I had been a customer for years, assured me he would take good care of everything and then did exactly what he promised. Let me tell you - I have ordered flowers to be delivered 5 miles from me, from florists in my own city in California and have never had the service I experienced with Blooms, which is across the world from where I sit now! Alan's professionalism, gentle kindness and commitment to excellence makes me want to board a plane with my Husband next week to travel to Ireland, make our way to Killarney and take Alan to lunch!
