The room is spacious enough for the two of us and all of our kite gear! We have stayed in a one bed room, but for those who do, they usually leave their kite gear outside the front of their rooms and that is totally fine, your stuff is safe here! The rooms have their own bathroom with shower. This place is a little older like most places here, but they keep it clean and provide clean towels everyday! Between the hotel and the beach they have a small RV area were people camp, maybe about 10 spots. The staff here are AMAZING. Kurt is no longer with us, but Marina is here to welcome you with a smile and Rocky can help you out with all your needs. They now have a mini restaurant and serve breakfast and lunch most days from 7:30-3:00 pm for an additional charge and dinner on select nights. The food is simple and good. They do have an outdoor community kitchen and each room gets their own small fridge in the kitchen area along with a basket to store your food. The beach is right in front of this establishment. It does have small rocks along the beach. For most kiters this will not make any difference. However, if you are a foiller you need to turn your foil upside down before you reach the rocks as this can be an added challenge. They do have wifi here, if you are on the lower floor the signal is very weak and we usually have to sit by the door or go to the kitchen area. The roof and kitchen area have strong signal, but remember we are in a remote area of mexico, so it is not super fast internet. It is basically good for email, facebook, etc (not streaming movies!!) Prices are reasonable and parking has never been an issue. We definitely like staying here!

The room was nice and clean, they provide everything you need and have excellent room service. The bathroom comes with the usual shampoo, conditioner, and lotion. They also had toothpaste and toothbrush in the bathroom which was amazing. We had a great view of the ocean with a nice balcony with a table and chairs outside to enjoy. Outside it is very noisy lots of people partying driving down the street with loud music and such but that is to be expected since it's a party place. If you turn on the air conditioner it drowns out the noise so we slept really well. Overall great experience and will definitely be staying again. There is a resteraunt on the roof on the 5th floor. It was very good! They have a ton of options to choose from and all are very good. The orange juice was very fresh and was delicious which to me is always a plus. The coffee was good and they serve it with warm creamer so the coffee doesn't get cold and will come to top you off regularly. The food came out very fast and the wait staff is very attentive. There is also a great view from up there so if you don't want to eat I would still take a look. Very pleasant experience all around!

They had parking in the hotel garage and the parking lot across the street. be careful with parking in the lot, make sure to prove you are with the hotel so you don't get charged to park. The hotel was clean and the bed was made each day. Our room had a beautiful view of the sunset over the water. We loved watching the sunset from our balcony, but we did not love getting trapped on our balcony for over an hour because we closed the sliding door and there is no handle on the exterior of the door. WARNING- If you close the sliding door to your room from the balcony it will lock and you will need to call over to guests on a different balcony to call the front desk to come let you back in. 2nd warning- If you latch your hotel room door the staff will not be able to get into your room to open the balcony door to let you back into your room. 3rd warning- if you do latch your hotel room door and close the sliding balcony door make sure to bring your phone and jacket because you will be out there for over an hour until they can call a maintainence worker to get a very tall ladder to climb the side of the building and break down a part of your wall to get into the room to open the balcony door for you. (None of this was the hotel staff's fault, I just wish there was a warning sign or something) The mojitos from the roof top bar were delicious.

I had stopped at 3 hotels/motels in downtown that were really old, sorta run down and seedy before I settled on here. I noticed that the area was mellow and clean here too, considering being so close to the marina. This hotel I actually found on google, was practically new, and a great location. Totally convenient, but no TVs in rooms or ice machine. Of course it had air conditioning though. It was impossible to live without that, or to find one with a fridge, so I just bought plenty of ice since temps were like 95 degrees every day. There was a nice sofa, lounging area but it was too brutally hot to be outside for longer than 10 minutes for the most part. Here I had very short walking distance to stores, markets and the malecón. It worked out perfectly for me, since I mostly used it to rest and sleep. Beach trips were planned for the day to Playas Balandra and Tecolote. The room price was $1000 pesos a night at this time which equated to about 55 dollars. I won't complain about the dead gecko inside the roll up blinds.-Well worth it still as the beds were new and it was a very quiet, until the birds woke me.. It would be my top choice to go back here for sure!

We stayed in our own private room with the king bed which was huge (dresser, wardrobe, and big shower, Mexican sink). It was great for us because we brought our almost 3 year old son along and there was an extra bed in the room for him as well. It felt like a nice hotel room in an hacienda somewhere, not a hostel. They also have more hostel type shared rooms with bunkbeds. I really liked the hostel's common area. It is all under a palapa style roof. They had the furniture handmade by local carpenters and made with reclaimed wood which I think is really cool. Nacho and Marbe who run the place are great trustworthy people with lots of knowledge of the area. They both speak English and Spanish which is nice. They do tours themselves as he is a scuba instructor and she studied biology so you are in good hands. If they are too busy to lead their own tour then they will hook you up with a great tour at a discounted price. There are also bike rentals on site. If you have a rental car like we did you can park it inside the gated courtyard which was very convenient. If you don't they are a short walk to the beach and the Malecon. Oh and Chula, she is basically like the hostel's mascot, she is the sweetest dog you'll ever meet--an added bonus! Next time we're in town we will definitely return. Tip: try emailing or calling, you may get a better rate than if you go through one of those 3rd party websites. Also, if you are doing a long term stay I think they give free nights and discounts. Although side parking can be tight during the day, there is still lots of space in front hotel. The hotel's outdoor lighting looks much nicer and modern. Even from street view, the hotel is eye catching because of its lighting and potted plants in front. Looking from the opposite end of the malecon, we can actually see the blue fluorescent lights illuminating on the roof top at night. Immediately one knows, it's the Westmarine Waterfront. Cool. The landscape inside and outside of hotel is well maintained from its plants, trees, rocks and design. It's nice to see this hotel takes plenty of pride. All staff, more specifically, front desk and restaurant staff take pride and are professionally dressed to be of service. All friendly, pleasant and helpful. The complimentary breakfast was actually extra. I didn't expect full on buffet. The red chilaquiles was tasty and sauce was perfectly seasoned. Delicious. I was also surprise that pancakes were delicious too. I normally don't like to eat pancakes made in Mexico. The batch at Westmarine was pretty close to being just as good as Dennys, in USA. Compliments to the cook. Hung out at the bar. A convenience to have. Didn't like all the up and down steps of bar layout, but we had a good time talking to Chado, the bar tender. We plan to return with family and friends on the next visit
