My family and I scheduled a private full day tour with Paul. We were picked up from our AirBnB and even though we weren't ready yet, he said "the trees have been here for thousands of years, they can wait a few minutes", which immediately resolved our stress. In fact all throughout the tour he reminded us that this was "our day" and there was no stress. For a millennial like myself, and a Generation Z like my sibling, this constant reassurance was just what we needed to rid ourselves of the fast city mindset we arrived with. Paul knew all the best spots to stop at. He took our picture, pulled over on the road for wonderful landscape shots, and even gave us a few experiences on our own. From the moment we sat in his wonderfully comfortable van, we drilled him with questions. I'm talking 8 hours of straight questioning about the park and his life in the area. It must've been exhausting for him, but he never lost his upbeat attitude and answered everything with humor and insight. Without this amazing tour, we would have been lost in the park and seen a few red trees without any context. This tour provided us with the satisfaction that we got the most out of our vacation together and that we met an amazing local too! Bonus points for vegan food options, clean public restrooms, and hand-made gift shops!

Beautiful winter meadow

Highly recommended!!! I had an extra day added onto a winter business trip and wanted to see the giant sequoias. Because of heavy snow, the roads up the mountain required tire chains or 4 wheel drive. No way I wanted to do that! Paul picked me up at my hotel in Three Rivers. Our tour had 8 people in our group. We all had a great time. The winding road up to the Giant Forest is very scenic. You can enjoy the beauty while Paul does the driving. He is very entertaining and a wealth of information. We had a nice lunch at the Wuksachi lodge, visited the museum and of course saw the Sherman tree. The winter meadow that Paul took us to is one of the most beautiful locations on earth! Take this trip! You won't be disappointed!

The BEST around! I was hosting a small wedding in Sequoia and hired Sequoia Sightseeing Tours to take my guests around the park for just a couple of hours while we ran off for photos. Paul and Stephen were such fantastic guides! I wasn't quite sure what they would have time to bring my guests to see, but when our guests arrived at the reception they couldn't stop talking about their amazing experience! Paul and Stephen took them to General Sherman, Moro Rock, some other groves, fallen tree, multiple lookout points, and much more. I was stunned they were able to fit all of those amazing spots in such a short window! They took group photos for them, and gave a ton of amazing information about the park, trees, the history, and surrounding areas. They were also so kind and fun to be around! They even picked us up at the wedding reception and made sure we all got home safe :). Seriously couldn't have asked for a better experience for us and our guests. It's been a few weeks and my guests are still calling and texting us about what an amazing time they had and all the amazing sights they got to see. Thank you so much Sequoia Sightseeing Tours! Such wonderful people, and thank you for helping to make our wedding day unforgettable.

Our amazing tour guide Paul!

One of the most amazing tours we've been on. Paul really showed us things that no one else even knew about. He brought snowshoes for our entire group and we got to experience that as well! Most importantly for my six year old son, he told us where to buy a sled and a private place to go sledding right behind our lodge. He was well organized and super informative. As others have mentioned, so comfortable to be around and seemed like an old friend. His wife was a pleasure to work with as well for booking. HIGHLY recommend this tour company!!

Highly recommend this tour if you are visiting Sequoia National Park. We took our tour with Paul, he is a really cool guy, friendly, personable, easy to talk to and plenty of stories to tell... full of information and facts! If coming in the winter time I'd recommend the Full Day Tour simply because you will be picked up at the base of the mountain where you can then relax and enjoy the sights versus worrying about concentrating on driving icy winding roads. You will also save the effort of having to get out and put chains on your car. Our tour guide is a native and knows the roads (and park) very well. Not once did we ever worry about our safety. We brought our 6 year old and 8 year old. I was concerned the length of the tour might be too much, it was not, it was perfect. There were plenty of stops for them to rest, or go to the bath room. One of the stops included Wuksachi Lodge where we had time to do lunch. The guided walks were long enough to enjoy the park, yet short enough that my kids didn't feel overstretched. Transportation: Sequoia Sightseeing Tours used a 12 passenger mini bus equipped with 4-wheel drive and of course chains at the ready. AGAIN so happy we weren't driving, we actually witnessed one accident, a fender bender, and a car spin-out because of the icy conditions. We didn't have those problems with Paul behind the wheel. Like other past reviewers have said, this tour is not to be missed. Date of Visit: December 30, 2015

Book them!

Great investment! Glad that we decided to book this tour since it was our first time. No need for driving up and down the mountains, dealing with the crowds, and the construction sights. We did the FULL day tour which began at 8:00am. We stayed at a place in Three Rivers and was picked up by Sheila. We were able to see what the package included: -The General Sherman Tree -Giant Forest museum -Moro Rock -Tunnel Log -Auto Log -A beautiful walk around an enchanted meadow -Lunch stop at Wuksachi Lodge Our group was pretty quiet (which I liked) ranging from all ages. The tour guide gave lots of fun facts and information and we were able to take great pictures. We even saw a couple of bears. I took off one star cause our tour guide made a rude comment. My husband and I took 18 minutes longer to hike Moro Rock because I'm scared of heights. Sheila should have never said, "Go at your own pace." And even though I was scared of heights, it doesn't mean that I didn't want to go up Moro Rock and experience Sequoia's beauty. It just took me longer!!! I just thought she was a bit rude like we were so late we ruined the whole tour. Sorry for making the group wait 18 minutes! Anyways, we still tipped her cause we didn't have to drive and secondly, I just think she shared way too much information about her personal life that she could definitely use it. Definitely book this tour! Great learning experience.

Both experiences far exceeded what I thought we were going to experience! On the hike, Scott was so knowledgeable about the park, its history, the trees, and the unique facts + areas that most don't know about. We also booked a photography session with him that was the PERFECT way to capture our time there! We'll be framing a few of the shots for our home. We also had the astronomy tour at night, where Scott walked us through the different constellations in the sky and the varying origin stories for them - from Greek, to Roman, to Viking. It was so mind-blowing to really stare at the stars and learn their stories. Thank you, Scott, for such a great first experience out in Sequoia National Park!! We can't wait to come back.

The owner and staff were super welcoming and walked us through all their offerings, which made the experience even better. We kicked things off with a cider flight--our favorites were Early Harvest and Graveyard. Early Harvest was simple, crisp, and just sweet enough, while Graveyard reminded me of a Scottish smoky cider aged in whiskey barrels. I do wish there were a few more sweet options overall and possibly a current up to date list of what's on tap somewhere online, but everything was well-crafted and flavorful! To cool off, we grabbed a cider slushy (highly recommend!) and wandered the property. We visited the goats, strolled through the apple trees, and made friends with their big fluffy Pyrenees who was living his best life napping in the shade. I picked up a bottle of Early Harvest and a t-shirt to bring back to DFW. It was the perfect stop--relaxed, local, and a great way to start the afternoon before heading into Yosemite. After our tasting, we walked through some of the apple trees, visited the cutest goats, and made friends with their big, lazy Pyrenees dog who was living his best life soaking up attention. I picked up a bottle of Early Harvest and a t-shirt to bring back to DFW--both worth it! Such a charming little spot--relaxed, scenic, and just the right detour before Yosemite!
