I live in Brentwood very nearby and love to bike here. It's a beautiful park with the trail running right through it. Very peaceful. Very serene I do miss the Bicycle Shop across street for instant refreshments. Though a refreshment truck comes on occasion to park. read more

What a great park! It's off the beaten path, so there's not much traffic noise. Parking is a-plenty, as are walking paths, cute ducks in the pond/lake, playground equipment and general greenery. I was a little disappointed the caves were closed, they used to be the main draw (in my opinion) and what made it unique from other parks in the area. It's still a great park, you should go check it out. read more

I really like this park for many reasons. The greenway trail the runs through it is awesome. Whether you are a runner, walker, or a bicyclist, being able to transverse some of the most beautiful outdoors Springfield has to offer is great. Why then only a 3-star review? The answer has nothing to do with the park environment and everything to do with parking. On a nice day, it is especially difficult to drive through the hustle and bustle of swarming people enjoying nature. Finding a parking spot at the park can seem nearly impossible at some points. Even though I really like this park, on a really nice day I always choose to go somewhere else. read more

I really like this Park. Its really convenient for a place to get away from the office and enjoy lunch. The path around the pond is well maintained and a post lunch stroll is a great way to relax mid workday. Right now its spring with geese and ducks everywhere. They are very people friendly and add to the scenery. They have trash bins located near the sitting areas and a basic bathroom should you need it. I usually elect to wait and use better facilities but they work in a pinch. Other people in the park seem friendly and pretty much leave people to their own business which is also a plus. read more

It's one of the jewels of the Springfield park system. With a playground, benches, gazebos, nature trails, paved trails, rocks to climb, and a stream that feeds into a lake it is a fantastic park to come to sit or take a walk just beware that there is goose and duck poop EVERYWHERE so either watch your step or bring shoes you don't care about. read more

This park is my favorite one all of Springfield, because there are so many routes to take to get you there. The bicycle trails take you past some of the best food and drink places. There is easy parking if you decide to drive and very accessible for walkers. There are wonderful park amenities for everyone to enjoy such as pavilions for parties and food. Plenty of grills to cook and picnic tables to eat. My favorite part about the place is the caves. read more

I have always loved this park. Been going for over 55 years. I remember when the cave was open and there wasn't as much pollution in the water. The cave has so much history. I have been all the way back to the start of the cave. It has several donut shape holes with water coming out where the cave starts. You had to crawl to get to them. There are old ceramic wire holding devices that held the wires for lighting when they served drinks in the cave. I was told at one time they had flat bottom boat rides to dance floors in the middle of the cave. There are several big rooms that are full of mud and bat dung. Lots of Albino crawfish in the water and bats. I had one brush my face as it flew by. Now days I'm glad you can only go in the cave by permit. It's because of lack of respect for the cave. The park also used to have pontoon rides in the summer time for disabled Kids. Springfield park board with James Ewing ran it for years. But Even though the water has become polluted over the years the park is great. The walking trails are great. I hope if they try to build up around it they keep this in mind. I would hate to Lose this cave and so much history because of greed and growth. read more

I love this park. It's a great place to get away and enjoy nature. It's clean, and the trail nearby is great for biking, walking, or running. I often take my lunch and eat here because there are good benches or rock overlooks which are great to do some people or geese watching from. read more

I enjoyed my first visit to this gorgeous park. It hooks into the Greenway trails which makes it a great spot for walking, jogging, and/or bicycling. It does seem like it would be a little busy at times (spring Saturday afternoons probably among those busiest hours), which is to be expected. My husband and I took off up the big hill on some of the unmarked "trails" before realizing it isn't actual hiking trails but just areas that people have traversed, or so it would seem. As we came down from the hill we noticed signage about that area being private property. It was still a lot of fun. This is a lovely well kept park with a cave that is closed due to bat health concerns (understandable), huge duck pond and plenty of playground equipment and benches. We'll probably return with bikes in tow but enjoyed a brisk walk alongside the babbling brook (really!) after our hike. Very nice place. So many people here with dogs on leashes who actually pick up after them! Hurray. If you are familiar with the city recycling depot on Lone Pine, this park is directly South of that. read more
