The only reason I gave it 4 stars and not 5 was because when actually booking the accommodation there was some confusion with whether or not the card we used has actually worked! But once that was sorted and we arrived, the actual experience there was definitely 5 star. We arrived and were greeted by Joylene, one of the owners of the B&B who was just lovely. We stayed at Treetops Downunder which is the downstairs apartment. There is an upstairs place to stay and they did have other guests up there but we did not even see or hear them the whole time. There was a bottle of complementary red wine from their own vineyard and freshly baked biscuits waiting for us on arrival - very nice touch. Being a Bed & Breakfast, they had the fridge fully stocked with local produce - bacon, eggs, mushrooms, tomatoes, yoghurt, strawberries, bread, orange juice and any other things you might need such as coffee, tea, milk and butter. The Downunder apartment was a full kitchen so you could look after yourselves completely. Decor was just gorgeous. There was music playing and candles burning when we arrived and a lovely big king size bed. There was also a 2nd bedroom. There was a TV, cd/ipod sound system, some DVD's as CD's and lots of books around the place. They also had the usual helpful tourist pamphlets and maps of the Barossa. But....my favourite thing....was the 2 person spa bath! So wonderful!! It had jets and was heated. So relaxing. There was an incredible view from their property and we had a little outside area to sit and drink wine or to eat brekkie. Overall it was just fantastic. Beautiful weekend getaway, luxury cottages with secluded outdoor patio, beautiful surroundings. Every attention to detail taken care of, beautiful bedding, towels, etc. Goodies in the room. And then the ultimate breakfast in bed ordered the night before from a selection of unusual and delicious items, not a standard breakfast just more goodies!

From walking into the veranda with the gorgeous fountain, to the super friendly, attentive and happy staff at the front desk, to walking into your suite and being blown away with the space, the indoor and outdoor showers, the outer patio, the big bed, the heated bathroom floors, the walk in robe, the big TV with DVD selection OR the beautiful little touch of biscuits and port on arrival for you. PHEW! The Louise is also home to Appelation, which is constantly rated to be one of the best restaurants in Australia. But even if you stay at The Louise without going to Appelation is is extremely worth it. I'll be back when I have a few hundred spare dollars...

Finding the cheapest rates in the area always appeals to me (plus I'm always up for an adventure) so at $90 a night I was happy. The motel is what you expect when you hear motel, rooms set out on either side with a drive in reception and your own car park directly outside your room. Speaking amenities, each room has its own outside seating set with two chairs and a smoking bucket. There is a playground, which has no shade, but is a great addition for the families (Boo had awesome fun once the sun had gone down and early morning). There is also a pool which we used last time and is clean and well looked after, with toilets, toys and towels provided. Inside the room is dated, but comfortable. I'm not against dated furnishings, and the exposed brick wall is actually coming BACK into fashion so they have a winner there. Bed was comfy, I recommend pillows as theirs are thin (I bought mine as I always hate hotel pillows) and there are only 3. Room was clean and pleasant. Provided in the room was a small kitchenette including coffee area and fridge. Kettle, iron and hairdryer were located in the cupboard. Hairdryer was lacklustre and took me about an hour to dry my hair, but hey it's an added bonus not a requirement so I recommend bringing your own. There is also free wifi once reception gives you your password. One negative I had was the water pressure in the shower was pretty low. Over all, two very successful, cheap stays. Thumbs up ;)
