I have tried a few treatments and was always pleased with the results, except the deep tissue massage that I would have preferred to be a little deeper, but relaxing none the less. Oh dear, don't touch this place with a barge pole if you want a beauty therapy treatment. I…read morerecently booked in for a shellac mani (on na voucher deal) plus a full pedi. I have had several shellac mani's before (at different salons). This was a disaster. Firstly, the Therapist buffed the nail. CND's own website clearly states that nails should not be buffed before applying shellac as it weakens and damages the natural nail. Secondly, the shellac was applied overly thickly and somewhat unevenly - an unprofessional looking finish. Finally and most importantly the shellac was applied carelessly so that the cutcile and side of the nail were covered. The end effect was similar to badly applied gel nails and it will look dreadful in a weeks time. The full pedi was a total waste of money and time. I suffer from dry skin on my heels which is why I opted for the full pedi. The therapist didn't even touch them. She gave the balls of my feet a quick going over and that was that. In addition, the pedi is carried out at the nail bar, with your legs going under the table so that your shins get pushed up against a wooden bar as she works on your feet (ouch!) To add insult to injury, not only was it the most expensive pedi I've ever paid for, I could have done better myself. Save your money and go elsewhere. Left feeling unpampered and ripped off.

They offer many different treatments, not just for hair. These include, facials, massages, nail treatments, tanning, holistic therapies using hot stones, and hair removal by waxing. They are one of the only spa's in North England to use Lycon waxing which is supposed to be a much more comfortable waxing experience. They do also do traditional waxing treatments if you prefer, Lycon comes at £5 more than traditional waxing treatments. I am not a fan of tanning, and I don't think anyone should be either, you are a human not a steak, cooking yourself is BAD...but each to their own. The other treatments do look very interesting though, I would definitely try the massage, and the interior and decor looks very peaceful, unlike many salons full of luminous pink accessories, fake breasts and lots of women who have been majorly tangoed. This is the higher end of the realm of beauty salons. They also do Worship Wednesdays where students receive 25% off hair treatments and 20% of beauty spa treatments. Damn! I wish I was still a student!

First, the large silhouetted Buddha on the window and then the name: being into yoga I am familiar with the idea that the body is one's temple. I think this is probably what the marketing department of this company had in mind when choosing these potent motifs and I willingly fell for it. Having had hand-knotted messy dreadlocks and an undercut for 3 years it was a big step deciding to go to pay someone to give me a proper hair cut. After diligently chopping and brushing out the accumulated dirt until my hair was chin length, I decided the final stages of rescue had to be tackled by a professional. So off I popped to the salon that had most prominently stuck in my mind. As an in-experienced salon visitor I was a little nervous but all the staff were very friendly when I explained my desperate need for a hair cut. I had an idea that I wanted something asymmetrical and started making hand gestures around my head that probably made no sense. But my stylist - a young Leeds lady - seemed to catch my drift and explained the options. More importantly she explained that, even though I might want a random shaved bit on one side, it all had to make sense as a whole cut. She talked about how it would look when it grew out, probably realising that I would not become a frequent customer. I didn't feel in any way uncomfortable, as I had imagined I would - the space and the banter pleasant to be part of. As the Buddha suggested in the window it had a calm atmosphere. Best of all I didn't feel pressured into anything I didn't really want. As I left I took them up on the offer of being put on their mailing list for future money-saving offers - even though I haven't yet returned it would be my first port of call in a future hair-cutting event, especially as it wasn't overpriced - only £33 for a whole restyle! Some people didn't even recognise me. I would even consider visiting for another beauty treatment as their hair removing and massage treatments were also reasonably priced.

Bloom bloom has just recently moved a few doors down into bigger premises and the the inside has been very professionally done. There are bare brick walls alongside clean crips lines and the atmosphere is very relaxed indeed. As this was my first visit I had to fill out a health card. The staff are very warm and I felt like I was very well taken care of. I was told by Vicky, who was the owner, that they don't usually offer massages to male clients but they do make exception for partners or close friends of people who already use the beauticians. I was to be given my massage by Faye and she made me feel very relaxed and there was a very un-rushed feel to the whole experience. I explained that I had never had a massage before and was a little bit nervous as I didn't know what to expect. Faye was very reassuring and put me at ease. The massage was brilliant. The massage table was lovely and warm. I never knew that a massage was such a complicated thing! The time flew by and before I knew it, it was finished. I had asked for a sports massage as I go to the gym 3 or 4 times a week and I felt that I would benefit from a thorough massage. After the massage it was suggested that I hang around, drink some water and not rush off as some people can feel a bit woozy or spaced out. This was the case with me and I was glad I didn't rush off. The staff are really friendly and talkative. I know that this is a bit of a feminine environment but I was made to feel very welcome indeed. So after a glass of cool water and a long conversation I headed off home. Will I be back? Definitely. I think it is time that I started to treat myself a little from time to time. One of the first things I shall do is book myself in for another treatment here.

Had my legs waxed first, nice and hygienic salon with clean paper on bed and a towel to cover, put heater on when I said it was cold. Although she didn't check if any hairs had been missed and had patches of wax on my legs and feet, so my socks stuck which was visible during shellac on toes. The shellac hands and feet were nice even though there was no exfoliation included, good choice of colours and very neat and thorough application. The only part I disliked was the cuticle removal on fingers as it hurt and left them looking a bit rough and raggedy. Needs to be more gentle even if cuticle are 'overgrown'. I got a voucher for 15% off next time, I would visit again if I could afford it. I would recommend it to a friend and anyone in the area looking for a local friendly salon with good standard of services.
