I usually love going to Sephora as a little treat to myself. I use my beauty Insider card frequently online and in stores. I usually am greeted (at least) as soon as I walk in the store. Not today though. 3 (grumpy) girls were working in the store around 5 p.m. on a very slow Monday evening... I was the only one shopping! Not one even made eye contact with me. Not one offered any help. One girl wouldn't even move over so I could look at the display of 'Two Faced' items she was stocking. I was trying to check out the chocolate bar palette I was looking to purchase. I finally just decided to get the powder foundation I'd been looking at online and a nice shiny lip gloss. It totalled to a little over $50. Online I'd have gotten a free gift, nothing here. I should have gotten at least 2/3 small samples... nothing. I didn't even get a smile. Listen, I was having a little "girl's day" with my nieces ... I needed a certain mascara & foundation that I like from there so I figured while I'm at the mall let me grab them. We thought that while we were there we'd all get our skin tones checked to make sure we're getting the right foundation shades (even though I'm really the only one who actually NEEDS it), but we were having our "girlie time" together. Well, let me just say that an older woman literally took FOREVER with us ... I was really starting to think I was in one of them "escape rooms." She took the longest time practically doing a makeover on my 2 nieces (who again do not even need it) and did an inch square section on my face while giving me a run-down on all the things I should & shouldn't be doing. I didn't even want to tell her that I'm also a licensed esthetician! You know what, though? I was going to buy more products but she annoyed me so much and I was already trapped in there for about an hour ... I ended up leaving with one thing in my hand when I could've left with a few ... spending about $30 when it could've been $100. I WILL go back to get the other products I wanted but I'm going to make sure to steer clear of her or go when she's not there. read more

Not a fan of the Dartmouth Mall, but I am a fan of the Sephora that is located in the Dartmouth Mall!! I've went there a couple of times and by far, I love the employees, especially Jade and Bea! They are so attentive and efficient in their craft. A lot of knowledge between those two fellas!! Went in today around 12 PM because I wanted to treat myself. I was helped by Samantha. She answered my questions, helped me find stuff, made recommendations, and told me that If I apply for a JCP cc that I get a bag of goodies regardless of if I get accepted or not. I spent about $149 plus got another $100 of free stuff including my birthday gift. Samantha was very pleasant and helpful and I really hope that management notices this and treats her right. She is definitely Employee of the month in my Book. This "Sephora" is in a JCP, therefore they don't have a lot of stuff. I would say their Urban Decay section probably has the most of any brand but it's not nearly as big or stocked as a regular Sephora. If you are looking for a more variety such as every kat von d, too faced, or NARS item this is not the location for you as like I said there's practically nothing there. I guess it's good if you need something in a pinch. If this is the only Sephora around you then sadly you will have to go there but if you can make the trip to providence I believe the PPM has a full Sephora with everything. This was my second time here and staff has been polite and helpful both times, which is something I really appreciate in retail. Good job samantha. This Sephora is always understaffed with staff who look like they are overwhelmed trying to help costumers . I went in to buy foundation and blush the girl who was helping did not sound very knowledgeable about the products I was asking about . She tried to find the right color match for me but when she did, she gave it to me to apply . When I have gone in there other times they have applied it for me , to test the products on my face . Last Saturday we had a last minute family event come up. My sister and I went to Sephora in the Dartmouth Mall to get new foundation but were so stressed by the short notice we were given for the event and shared our stress with Jade and her manager Savanah. They were fully booked for the day but to make our day much better they offered to do our makeups!! Savanah and Jade were very helpful and did all they could to make us feel beautiful and less stressed! And to top it off, it was one of the best makeups I've ever gotten. Staff here is always super friendly and helpful! I have a habit of stopping by when the items I want are out of stock but I also tend to choose trendy products that sell out quickly. Staff has consistently been able to give me advice and help me find exactly what I need. read more

So.. I love Sephora. Do I love the one in the Dartmouth mall? No. But it's the closest one. My first time going there I told the lady at the register I had a beauty insider account but I never received the card in the mail. I gave her my information so I could get the points from that day. I told her five times how to spell my name and email address. She started having a real bad attitude, I guess she was having some trouble spelling Lexie even thought I spelled it all for her multiple times. So! She goes and makes me a brand new account and hands me a card. I didn't know about this until I got home and looked at my receipt. I called the manager and she said she couldn't do anything about it. I would need to call someone else to get my two accounts merged. That was really annoying. I assume the manager or whoever said something to that particular employee because every time I've been back to the store she gives me the look of disgust. I went back a more receipt time to get the Fenty foundation. I had asked someone if they could do a shade match for me since I always end up getting a shade too dark or too light. When I went home I found out that foundation was way too orange. I made it work for the time being but when I needed more fenty I got shaded matched again and it was better. I don't really think the employees know what they're doing as far as helping with makeup. read more
