This was the worst experience I've had in any store today…read more I was at this location back in October and the woman who helped then was terrific. I called ahead, and once I got there, she helped me every step of the way. I had my hair damaged by color. I was going out of town; wanted to look nice. I needed both gentle and to even my color. I was going to the Strack's next door that day and stopped in. She introduced me to demi products, which worked out beautifully. My hair isn't further damaged and I've almost grown out of the bad coloring job. She took about 10 minutes and helped me select everything I needed. I was very pleased with the store. I thought I had found a nice place to shop and it's next door to where I do my grocery shopping, which makes it super convenient. Today, when I walked in, there were two blonde haired women at the registers talking. I was pretty confident I could remember what I needed, so I began to help myself. I wasn't greeted or asked if I needed help. Once shopping, I did ask if I had the right demi, I was in the middle aisle (close to the registers) and I could be seen from the front by the women talking at the registers. When I asked if I had the right demi, I got "the demis are in the middle." Again, there was no offer to assist. Two workers, and I was the only customer. When I first walked in at about 5, I thought they were talking work, but after a few minutes, it was clearly gossip. The one woman was loud. I looked at the gloves and there were quite a few of them to choose from. Sizes, types, quantity. None had a price, so I walked to the front to ask prices, (I thought maybe a hearing problem and why she was so loud) and I was told to just bring them up with my purchase. She'd check then. I've worked retail, and usually there's a price book. If the store isn't busy, you work the floor and another would work the register. The person on the floor would assist customers while pricing/stocking/facing. Slackers, I've worked with them. Another woman walked in as I was walking away, she wasn't greeted or offered help either. The thinner of the two women walked to the back store room. I walked over to the developer, which is right next to the store room. I asked if there was a difference in developers. She let out a big sigh, and said with a demi you'll need a 10. She stood in the doorway. I grabbed the 10, three different packages of gloves, and proceeded to the checkout. I planned to purchase more things, but just wanted the things to color my hair and to get out of there. I had more shopping to do and with how things were going, I wasn't confident I had the right developer, but I did think I had enough at home so I'd return if needed. I planned to call in the morning to check. My hair can't take more stress. When I walked to the register where the thinner woman was standing, I asked her to price check the gloves and they were pretty expensive for surgical type gloves, I told her I was going to Walmart later and would just grab some there. I didn't mention the price. Rather than set the gloves aside and check me out, she left the register took the gloves back to put them on the shelf. The heavy-set woman just stood there never asked me to step over, and didn't say a word to me. She wasn't doing anything. When the other woman came back she asked me to step over to the other register, because hers wasn't working. At this point, I was frustrated, and there was nothing I had done that was rude, or to warrant this type of treatment. I asked if there was a manager available, they said no, and I said "of course there's not and it's obvious." This infuriated the larger woman. Next, I said to the larger woman snarkily, "why did you make me wait if you're the only register open? I know, because you're too busy talking to each other and not working." The larger woman did this tough act thing with me and said "we have a life outside of here and you should mind your own damn business, bantered on about her arthritis and how she could work circles around me at double my age" (I'm 52 and she's about 60) kind of funny, but I was also pretty angered by some of the things she was saying. (there was more) I said "you're working and you're being paid to work, this is your life right now. Maybe your feet wouldn't hurt if you wore better shoes to work and not open toed sandals." She didn't directly threaten but said something about taking me outside, I laughed at her and noticed this huge tattoo on her large arm and called her trash." The other woman told me to leave, even though I was still happy to check out." I called the bigger woman f'n trash a couple times for value, and left. I'll never go there again. I've worked retail, and owned a good sized cleaning service. In no way was she supposed to be wearing open-toed shoes at work. OSHA/Workman's Comp 101, stuff drops on feet in retail. Allegedly, the manager is Tina.

Arrived at this location 7/6/16 at 10:15am to find a sign on the door saying they would be open at…read more10:30. No problem, things happen, I'll wait. An employee sat outside on the sidewalk waiting as well in 87 degree heat, when the owner finally showed up around 10:50am. (First sign of an unprofessional business, I should have run then) Nonetheless, I purchased around $50 in merchandise, including a $29 Andis curling iron. I plug it in yesterday, & see that it is not turning on. THEN, I feel an electric shock to my leg. The chord was entirely disconnected/busted from the base of the wand, & the tip shocked my thigh! I go to exchange it today (they have 3 more in the case), and the same gentleman that got it for me originally said "Let me get the keys". The owner STOPS HIM, & tells me to call the company. He REFUSED to exchange it, even though there were 3 more in plain sight. Imagine my frustration...I was understandably annoyed. He called the police (I did as well, having done nothing wrong but patronize his business)...the amazing officer listened and questioned the owner about the policy. The receipt clearly states "EXCHANGE OR STORE CREDIT ONLY"? He told me to sue him...he agreed the policy was bad business. FYI, I contacted Andis, they no longer make the iron...so I am out of $30+tax for it and he has 3 IN HIS CASE. We have to stop supporting businesses that make 99% of their profits off the backs of the community in which they position themselves, but refuse to conduct fair & professional business practices. This would not have escalated at a Sally's...this business does not respect the very demographic that enables its viability. Go to Angela's in Highland...the owner is a class act & respects his clientele. M&M is NOT the only option.
