The team at Sentry Exteriors is phenomenal. They've been extremely helpful with all the exterior renovations we've thrown their way, from roofing repairs, gutter repairs, new siding, you name it. We highly recommend them. read more

Price for gutter guards was very reasonable and nice quality. I have used them in the past for other exterior needs. Chris was my rep this time and fantastic customer service. read more

Ben and his crew came out to my house to install gutters, downspouts, and snow guards. They were pleasant, professional, on time, and did a great job and good clean up. These days it's hard to get an estimate. People don't communicate well. They don't do what they are supposed to do. They aren't on time. There are always unpleasant surprises. So working with Sentry Exteriors was an ABSOLUTE DELIGHT. It was everything you hope it will be. No crazy surprises. I'm really happy with the quality of materials and the workmanship. read more

in early September, I made several calls to inquire about having my gutters cleaned. I hired Sentry Exteriors to install gutter guards several years ago. Simply wanted to have the tops of the gutters cleaned off and the valleys cleaned of leaves. Spoke with Alexis who indicated she would have someone come out ant look at the job. She gave a time and date. No one showed up. I called them back the next week and got a call from Connor that stated he would work on it and try to have someone come out on the weekend. No one showed up. I called them again the next week and Alexis assured me Connor would be in touch with to arrange a date and time. Alexis has been very polite, but nothing's happening. I viewed this as a fairly simple job and the fact that they installed the gutter guards would make them a good choice to clean them. Their website states they do clean gutters. Very disappointed in the experience. To date (a month later) - I have not heard back from them. I called Alexis today, and she stated she would make a call and get back to me. Alexis called back and indicated the gutters would be cleaned this Saturday (9/30/23) NO ONE SHOWED UP ON SATURDAY. DON'T CALL THESE PEOPLE IF YOU WANT ANY WORK DONE. It's worth mentioning that Sentry has fully flipped their staff in the last year! The new team is incredible. A very sharp group doing excellent work! Strongly recommend! read more

These folks are a nightmare. It took them 3 months to finish what should have been a 2 day job. My roof wasn't leaking when they came but it was leaking after they installed my new roof. Then it took months for them to come to "fix" it which just made it worse. Then they just left me hanging with a leaking roof, interior ceiling damage, lost electrical around the leaking area's, a yard full of shingles, packaging and nails. It's really the worst experience with a contractor I've ever had. Do yourself a huge favor and go else where. Very poor quality work, nonexistent customer service. The money it will cost you to fix their mess will make you cry not to mention all the time you will spend trying in vain to get them to come fix what they messed up on your brand new roof before you go elsewhere to get someone competent to fix it. read more

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! Vanessa is the office manager and she is the rudest person EVER!! She gives attitude, she's snappy/short and she tries to talk over you when your speaking to her. Absolutely unacceptable from a business "professional" or lack there of. Especially since we paid them OVER $100,000 to do a job for us!! And this is the attitude we get?! Disgusted. - Unsatisfied Customer read more

They did a wonderful job, very fast between the time I ordered new gutters and they were installed (11 days). They cleaned up everything after they were done, and my new gutters look terrific. Also I got 3 separate bids for new gutters, Sentry was much lower than the other 2 contractors. read more

I would look elsewhere for roofing services. Sentry Exteriors provided roofing construction for several new homes in my neighborhood and a few of the roofs experienced leaks due to faulty construction. They've fixed some of the homes but didn't stand behind their work for my roof. Their customer service people were polite but it took me three calls before I actually got a return call to schedule someone to come out and look. They indicated that they were not willing to "do the right thing" and correct their issue but would be happy to provide an estimate for the work, expecting me to pay them to fix their mistake. I am now looking for another roofing company that is more reputable to come out and provide a service that Sentry should have provided to begin with. Again, avoid this company and don't go through what I have endured. read more

I needed gutters on a metal building and Sentry Exteriors did an excellent job. Quality workmanship and fair price along with good communication from local folks. read more

Sentry did my siding and gutters last year and I am very pleased with every aspect of their work. From the estimate, to receiving the contract and completion of work. I was so satisfied, I'm having them do my roof work this year. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them. read more

Tony the sales man convinced us to choose Sentry over Window World for our homes new windows with a strong case that even though they were more expensive, it was worth the extra money to have his superior installation "guy". He alluded that the work done by Window World would fail in comparison to the work his installer would do. He said they were more expensive because they have to pay their "guy" more to keep him because he is just "SO GOOD". Chad, the installers name, came on the day of installation a few hours after we were told he would be there, but no big deal, we thought. He got our old windows out and most of the new frames in within about six hours. It seemed promising. He promised to return at 8-9AM the following morning to finish the job. He never showed up until 1-2PM but only to pick up his ladder. He told me he couldn't do my windows because another crew had supposedly botched up another job so bad and he was "the only one good enough to fix their mess". He promised to return the next morning to finish our job. I expressed concern about the exposed framing getting damp and then getting covered up by trim, but he brushed it off. I was disappointed. After all, we paid over $6000 for this job to be done to have this unmatched superior crew do the work in 1-2 days. The next day we waited, and again, he never showed and never called to explain. I called the office and they called Chad. I was told by the receptionist that Chad had to do more repair on this other job than expected and he would come by about 1PM and if he couldn't make it then he would call to let me know what time he'd come. 3:30PM came and went. No call. No Chad. I should add that in addition to this tardiness and lack of follow through, Chad and his guys left a mess in every room they put windows in. Wood chips and splinters, paint chips, dirt and SCREWS etc. were on the floors beneath the windows. We have little kids so we had to obviously clean all this up. I vacuumed, mopped, etc and my husband picked up the screws. I was irritated by this because for $6k you'd think they could use a broom or at least pick up the screws off the floor. One window also had incomplete caulking on the inside. There was a hole that I had to fill with caulking while waiting for them to finally show up again. So anyway I finally texted our sales guy, Tony, to express my frustration at the lack of follow through and contact, and the mess they left in my house. Rather than Tony calling me back, he told the secretary and another guy at the office to call me. They told me he was busy so couldn't call me back, but I can't help but wonder if he was embarrassed by the discrepancy of his bragging on this guy and our experience with him. I was eventually told that Chad wouldn't be coming to finish the job but that they would send another crew. Ironic since the whole premise of why Tony told us they were superior was because we would get his "top notch" guy doing the job...and here we are being given another "crew". I am awaiting them to finish the job and make things right. Not a good experience to be honest. Wish we'd chosen Window World. I will not be recommending the window crew from Sentry at this point in time. Maybe my mind will change on that depending on how this pans out in the end. But mid experience, I'm definitely feeling let down. I trusted Tony's praise of this guy....who couldn't even pick up screws or show up or call when he can't. I really hope this works out. It was a ton of money to spend on a sketchy experience. read more

I don't know a thing about roofing, gutters, siding, or anything else that makes a house a house, but after working with Sentry Exteriors I can honestly say I know something! Yay! The people who work here are so informative and will never make you feel more dumb than you probably are regarding this subject. The lead salesman and vice president, Tim Kesterson, has been working in this field for over twenty-five years and it's clear that he knows what is best without the obvious sleazy upsell that most salesmen come equipped with. The owner, Kirk, is super friendly and also Canadian so that might have something to do with it, haha! The work is always done on time and they are completely honest with the amount for costs and materials. They have been in the Central Virginia area for years and will even find you a sub-contractor for extensive roofing jobs or additions that might need to be made to your home. I believe they are a wonderful asset to this area and to the rest of central Virginia. read more
