In July 2026, I visited Sentinel Rock State Park which has a lovely view of the mountains surrounding Lake Willoughby. Two wind farms are also visible in the distance. The upper parking area has a huge rock with a geology display. The lower parking area has the remains of a house and a display on the early history of the area. A boggy trail connects the parking area. Also, if you are looking for a short jogging trail, Coles Road is relatively flat with open views of the surrounding hills and has wildflowers in the summer. Overall, it's an easy drive up Hinton Hill Road for folks staying on Lake Willoughby. read more
