I am an active duty service member and my experience with Adler Therapy Group has been nothing…read moreshort of frustrating and disrespectful. First, they charge a $50 out-of-pocket fee for missed appointments -- which would be understandable if they made any effort to help you keep them. They do not send automatic text reminders or appointment confirmations. As a service member with a demanding and unpredictable schedule, a simple reminder would make a significant difference. It feels intentional. Second, the scheduling system they use is unnecessarily complicated and difficult to navigate. Keeping up with appointments is already a challenge for service members dealing with training, duty, and everything else that comes with military life. A therapy practice that claims to serve this community should understand that. The final straw was when I missed an appointment because I was told by a staff member that their system was down. When I brought this up to the owner, instead of acknowledging the issue or even hearing me out, he called me a liar. As someone who serves this country, being dismissed and called dishonest by a business owner who is supposed to provide support is unacceptable. health care should feel safe and supportive -- not like a trap designed to collect fees. I would not recommend this practice to any fellow service member or veteran. There are better options in the Virginia Beach area that will treat you with the respect you deserve.

After not being able to get a consultation appointment at the Healthy Way office, I contacted…read moreSentara Therapy's Central Scheduling. They indicated that not all their Therapy Centers had Occupational Therapists. To get a timely appointment I had to take my 3rd choice. But they indicated that I could have the initial consultation there & the sessions at one of the others. After having the consultation at the Lynnhaven Office I knew I would stay with them, even if was a little further. The office is located in the Lynnhaven Convenience Center, a large strip shopping center with a great variety of businesses. The Center is located on the north side of Virginia Beach Boulevard just west of it's intersection with Lynnhaven Parkway. There are various routes available: (1) I-264 to Lynnhaven Parkway (2) Virginia Beach Beach Boulevard (3) from the Shore Drive Corridor: south on Great Neck Road then west on Virginia Beach Boulevard. There is ample parking with a few handicapped spaces in front on the building. The center is clean, well equipped & filled with friendly employees. My Occupational Therapist, Rachel is knowledgeable, friendly & eager to help my problems. She's offered "at home" suggestions and aids. She's tried different approaches when the first line exercises made my bad shoulders sore. Twice I've come very early from another appointment. Both times she found time to take me before my scheduled appointment. Sentara Lynnhaven's Occupational Therapy gets a strong "5" from me.

My son broke his arm in September 2024, and we took him to Wardell Orthopaedics for treatment…read more While the medical care itself was adequate, the billing experience has been frustrating and deeply disappointing. At the front desk, I explained that I wanted to pay in cash and was told the visit would not exceed $250. I paid that amount in full on the spot. Shortly after, I realized I had my insurance card with me and asked if the payment could be reverted so insurance could be used instead. The receptionist assured me that it wouldn't be a problem and processed it accordingly. Fast forward about a month, and I receive a bill in the mailed more than $1,100.00--a shocking amount that's over four times what I was initially quoted. Had I known this would be the outcome, I never would have authorized the insurance switch. The original agreement was a $250 cash payment, which I honored in good faith. This situation feels deceptive. There was no clear explanation of how using insurance could lead to such an inflated charge. It seems that once insurance was involved, the pricing structure changed entirely without my consent or proper disclosure. Patients and parents deserve transparency--especially when dealing with medical emergencies involving children. I strongly urge Wardell Orthopaedics to review their communication and billing policies. This experience has made me question whether I can trust this practice with my family's care in the future.

To be honest, I was not even a bit excited to begin going to PT. They have a 6,000 square foot facility INSIDE of the Bon Secours' Harbourview Medical Center. At first, it can be a bit difficult to find. If you park in the main medical parking lot, then head into the main entrance you will see the Wardell Ortho/Harbour Rehab entrance near the sandwich stand. The facility is quite nice, large windows surround the rehabilitating floor overlooking a small lake. They, also, have a television in the waiting area and free WiFi for patients. I've been seeing a Physical Therapist named Ed and a Physical Therapy Tech named Karen. Both of them are absolutely phenomenal to work with, I highly suggest asking for the both of them since they seem to have an abundance of experience/expertise. I have heard nothing but good things from fellow patients and friends of mine about their positive experiences. They have won "Best of the Best" so many times in HR that they have to find creative places to put them!
