Positive: The were able to accommodate my request for a manicure without a wait or appointment on a Saturday evening. During and after the manicure there is no massage, however as you are drying they ask if you would like one. This comes with an added cost but it was the best part of my experience and I would go back for that 10 minute massage. Flip side: No prices are posted. First, let me say that I went in here by accident because I didn't know where the European wax salon was in the plaza. I told them I was looking for a specific person and I was looking for a full bikini wax.When the girl came and got me It wasn't the girls name that I was asking for so again I said I wanted a specific girl. They kept saying yes yes yes so I thought maybe she was in the back. The girl asked me if I wanted full and I said yes I want a full bikini wax. Needless to say when I thought I was done, she then put more wax on in a place where I wasn't expecting it. When I asked what she was doing she said you said you wanted a full wax. I then said I wanted a full bikini wax. So I ended up with a Brazilian instead of a bikini. They may do nails well, but they don't understand what they're doing when they're waxing. read more

I have been going here since it opened. I wouldn't consider going anywhere else. The salon is very clean. You are always greeted as soon as you walk in. I usually have an appointment, but have gone many times without one and they accommodate whatever I need. My gel manicures last at least 2, sometimes 3 weeks so well worth it. I hardly ever write a review but I decided to to see if anyone might of experienced what I did. I walked in, no appt, and asked pricing for a gel mani and pedi. The gel pedi was $55 so I decided to just get the mani. The lady giggled and asked me if it was too much. Instead of getting offended, I just told her yes it is and left it alone. I'm temporarily staying in the area bc my house is being renovated and I rented a short term rental. So I never been here before and new to the area. My nails were in terrible shape bc they are very thin to begin with and I've been packing and doing house work for a week and my nails were chipped and really needed a fixing. While Lucy was doing my nails, I guess she was talking about the condition of my nails, she was speaking in another language. I thought I heard her say the N word. I tried talking myself out of it but started to listen closer. Two nail techs came over and looked at my nails suggesting I get UV gel. I politely said no thank you. Then I thought I heard her say it again. I could be completely wrong. And I never experienced feeling like this before. I have thought I was being talked about in a nail salon before, who hasn't? But I was starting to feel paranoid and suspicious. I noticed the lady on the left of me was really enjoying her massage. And then the lady on the right of me got one too and I started to really look forward to mine. But my message never happened. I don't remember anyone asking for or offering a massage. Lucy did a decent job, although I had to tell her to glue the ripped nail. All the salons I've been to don't even flinch at my weak nails, and if there's a snag, they throw some glue and powder on it if I don't want them to cut it. So Lucy gets one stars. So I'm not usually one to leave a review, but I decided to try a new nail salon. I usually go to my regular one for my manicures, but I needed a pedicure without an appointment so I decided to pop in to sensation Nails in Southbury. When you first walk in, it's very clean, which I loved when I sat down. The girl asked me if I wanted a regular pedicure or a spa pedicure. I didn't have a lot of time so all I wanted was the regular pedicure with gel polish. She proceeds to tell me that it's an extra $25 for the gel polish which I've been to many salons and I've never seen it that high so I said OK forget it I'll just do the regular polish and then she tells me "well we're going to charge you $20 to takeoff the gel you already have on " so I'm thinking I guess I might as well just get the $25 gel. I pick out my color and they tell me it's going to be an extra five dollars because I picked out a specialty color so I decide to just ask them which colors are not an up charge and they show me and I pick one . mind you I never got my legs rubbed and only a quick graze of the bottom of my feet so when Im done $65 for a basic pedicure with a $10 tip $75 pedicure for 25 minutes I will never go back to this place again I'm not disappointed with the way my pedicure turned out, but the prices there are absurd and that's the reason I will never go back read more

I wanted to post this very unpleasant experience with this nail salon so that other customers are aware. I bought a gift certificate, one of many over the years at this place, for my wife to get her nails done. My wife recently went there with the certificate and unfortunately it had a part ripped off. She was told to bring in the other part. In the meantime someone at the salon drew a line through the certificate indicating that it was now used? When my wife returned with the missing part they refused to honor it. We will never, ever do business with this establishment again. Customers beware. read more

I always pass by this place, and they seem to always be busy, so I thought I'd try it out today. They were extremely nice, it's very clean inside, and their prices are decent, but I wasn't at all impressed with how my manicure and pedicure turned out. It just ended up looking really sloppy, and it was kind of dark in there, so I didn't realize until I had left. I just feel like the job they did is about the same as what I could have done on myself, so It was a waste of money. I've been going here for over 2 years and always walk away a happy customer. The salon is so beautiful inside and they alway provide such a relaxing experience. The staff is also friendly not to mention the manicures and pedicures come out perfect every time. I've also been getting eyelash extension for the past year and I wouldn't go anyplace else. When I first moved to town I was looking for a new salon so I wouldn't have to travel to Danbury where I used to go. This was the first salon I decided to go into because the online pictures of the salon looked nice and clean. They advertise "walk-ins welcome" yet when I walked in I was not welcomed. I wanted a simple gel manicure and they told me they were too busy. Now I completely understand that appointments take first priority but they didn't even attempt to make a future appointment for me and show any empathy for turning my business away. The person at the counter was extremely unpleasant. I haven't walked back in there since and I have no desire to. They set timers for in-service massages to make sure you get as little pampering as possible and they can pump through as many customers as they can in a short amount of time. They want you to "pay now!" while you're service is still being completed. Complimentary massage during manicure was the only decent thing about this place. I've been here many times when I used to live in Connecticut. Since moving, I hadn't been back in quite some time. I'm visiting friends and family and went in to have my dip powder on my hands removed and to have a pedicure. The technicians weren't exactly skilled at removing the dip powder. I had to tell them multiple times that it was not gel, but dip. The removal process is not the same and they did not use the proper tools to remove as I still had remnants of color that stayed behind. Next, my pedicure. I asked the technician to fix the nail on my big toe since it had cracked and a new nail was growing. At my usual salon, they put a clear dip over it to make it smooth and look completely new. I explained this to the technician multiple times and he did not do as I asked. He just put regular color on and paid no attention to the misshapen nail. I was also getting a massage while the technician finished taking off my dip powder and doing a regular manicure. Even though I was still having my massage he made me pay for my services. I thought that was extremely rude. I'm really disappointed in the lack of skill and service here. It never used to be like this. I'll be looking for another nail salon while I'm visiting Ct in the future. read more

Gave this place to try due to Gift Cards I received. Place was cute...Young woman greeted me nicely. It was busy, however they told me they could take me right then and there...great....Until I sat for 20 minutes (no exaggeration) in the lukewarm turned cold water..It was so awkward because no one was coming and I kinda just wanted to leave. Finally a young boy came to do my Pedi...he wasn't good at all. Foot massage was weak. He didnt speak a word of english and he kept giggleing with young girl next to me...which is probably why there was messy polish everywhere. An odd experience. I called and asked if they took AMEX, which they said they did. Short wait, which was nice. As I came in for a FILL, I expected a Fill. The guy who worked with me told me in no uncertain terms that I should have taken my old nails off before I came there. Wierd. Accommodated me during a busy Easter weekend... I am very grateful. I was able to get a color gel manicure and pedi cure with eyebrow waxing. They were busy when I entered and asked for all these services. not once did they seem annoyed or angry that I didn't make an appointment. They were kind and welcoming to all their customers. I watched as some people came in with appointments and some not. They asked do you want to come back later... we are open tomorrow... can you wait 5 or 10 mins with the most kind and caring demeanor. In return, their customers were understanding and the relationship was reassuring. Also and most important, nails came out neat and shiny. Plus the overall, business is thoroughly cleaned as well. Was a faithful/regular/happy customer here for several years. Had the same person every time, as she was awesome. One day, she was gone. Bummed yes, but these things happen. Tried other techs, none were great. After a weird situation, decided to go somewhere else. Found another place that was okay but poorly managed. After a year or so went back to Sensation Nails to see if it was any better. Sadly, it wasn't. The people there are nice, but my nails are a huge disappointment. UV gel is horribly expensive ($70) and the guy who does them just rushes through the process. And it shows. Also have never see them clean the tools. Imo, there are not a lot of great options in our area but I can't recommend this place anymore. read more

I honestly never feel compelled to write a review but my experience was just horrible. Linda was my manicurist and also did my pedicure. She was either in a very bad mood, or just is not friendly, which made it a really awkward unpleasant experience. I got the callous remover pedicure for $35 and it was the quickest pedicure I've ever gotten. She put the callous remover on for about a minute, if that, hardly filed the bottom of my feet, and my leg massage was almost non existent. She also grunted when my toe got smudged. Yeah it's annoying when that happens, but poor customer service. My gel manicure is actually lumpy. I will not be going back. Gave 2 stars because the massage was really great. read more
