Storey Oaks Memory Care

Storey Oaks Memory Care

(4 reviews)

I moved my brother from Iris care facility in Edmond to Storey Oaks based on a recommendation from…read moreone of his outside assistants. I felt like my brother was not getting the care he needed at Iris and was hoping that Storey Oak could be more attentive. Due to my brother having Parkinson's dementia, he was prone to falling. I was assured by the marketing manager at Storey Oak that my brother would be given lots of love and care. Based on input I got from his outside assistant, my brother was not given the attention he needed. Although he was supposed to be in a wheelchair, he continued to have falls and I was not always notified of his falls. Unfortunately, my brother had a serious fall one night while in his room and suffered a massive brain bleed. Again, I was never notified by the staff at Storey Oak and had to hear it from the emergency room that he had fallen. My brother died several weeks later while at Storey Oak due to complications from his fall. I did not receive a personal phone call either from the marketing manager or the executive director to give their condolences on the death of my brother while in their care. Instead, I received a text message. I thought that was pretty tacky.

sad state of affairs when you place your loved one in a facility to be taken care of, and 5 days…read morelater still no shower! the residents have no water in rooms. this may seem minor, but if a person has memory issues, they don't know enough to ask for water. the staff are hateful and rude for the most part. they don;t like their job. activity director is the only pleasant person working. needless to say, we moved our loved one out! the place is loud and noisey, mostly coming from the staff sitting at desk on their phones, instead of taking care of the residents. this review is also being sent to the state department of health, nursing home division. shame on you storey oaks. if you can;t offer quality care, shut your doors! shameful! this e mail also sent to senior care referral services of oklahoma. people need to know about this horrible place.
