The food at this small BYO restaurant is wonderful and tastes authentic - a world away from the standard Thai restaurant menu offering in Australia. All the pastes are made in-house and the food can be made to whatever heat you specify. The soups, curries and salads are excellent and we particularly loved the choo chee barramundi. The home made coconut ice cream and mango sticky rice are wonderful too. We've here twice now and plan on coming again to sample more dishes. Authentic friendly staff too!!

At night they have ferry lights and I'm not gonna lie...they got me! Plus, not only do they have outside seating but they have a few tables right out front that are like little huts and I couldn't resist! We ordered a couple of different dishes. Starting with two appetizers, unfortunately I can't remember what one of them was! But we did order the soft shell crab and that was pretty good, I don't think fried soft-shell crab can really be bad though :P . I had been craving fried rice so I went with that and it was good. It wasn't the best fried rice I'd ever had but it did hit the spot and it was a very large serve so even after sharing I had some to take home for lunch the next day. My dining companion had the Moreton Bay bugs and he thought they were also good. Both dishes came out plated quite nicely as well :) If I was going for Thai down on the coast I would definitely go back, I especially like the outdoor seating at night - cute ambiance!

The decor was quite cool and definitely had a very Thai feel to it. The elephant chairs were incredible! Not my favourite of all time, but still very good. We ordered the Phanang curry and Pad Thai to share as our mains and both were delicious. So much food though - definitely regretted ordering the starter as we were so full. I usually prefer the noodle dishes, but I have to say, the curry was yummmm! Would happily go back there. I'm super picky when it comes to Asian food but especially Thai food. We've spent a bit of time in Thailand and so often you come across crap versions of it, but this was good! Without the sauce, they didn't have much flavor so you definitely need to dip it. Typically when I have pad thai, the peanuts will be crushed so that it is evenly distributed within the noodles. I felt like they went a little more on the spicy side instead of sweet, sour, and spicy. I remember in college there was a place where you would squeeze a lime over the pad thai and there was fresh vegetables on top with shrimp. Australian Thai food might be a little different, but these were my impressions as an American.
