It's my hometown but I had work to do, wanted to get some exercise and had a full day event to attend and did not have family to watch the kids nor my husband so I turned to recommendations. Not only is Seminole Sitters highly recommended (they provide all of the sitters for the Florida Legislature) they have wonderful sitters and a highly organized owner (Mary). Mary acted on all of my idiosyncratic preferences and found a terrific nanny for us (Nicole K.) who was so thoughtful, she even brought toys for the children knowing that we were visiting. Nicole was professional and punctual - and flexible - she fed them, took them to the park, played with them and otherwise entertained them beautifully and I felt happy leaving them in such capable and caring hands. When we moved to Tallahassee, our baby was barely three months old. We were both starting new jobs but didn't want to send him to daycare yet. We have used Seminole Sitters for regularly scheduled child care as well as occasional date nights for the past 2.5 years. All of the sitters we have had arrive on time and are careful to follow our instructions. While here, they really engage with our two children and keep them active doing everything from puzzles to freeze tag. They also take charge and calmly say "no" when necessary. Mary, the owner, has been very responsive to all my requests. On the rare occasion when a particular sitter had to cancel, she found a replacement right away. My kids looked forward to every week with their sitter. I did too. She was always on time, knew exactly how our routine worked, my kids personalities, what they loved to do. She had no problem getting dirty with them, have fun with them, but knew how to say no gently if needed. She was part of our family. I was very sad to move away from the area and have to say goodbye to her. On the occasional date nights or last minute need of a sitter, Seminole Sitters always came through! Always! The sitter provided by Seminole Sitters was excellent! We had never used a sitter out side of family for our 2 year old and Ms. Rachel was perfect. I needed to attend a work training and Rachel kept him happy and distracted while I was gone. My son loved playing with her and had a great time! She arrived 5 minutes early, well dressed and ready to engage my son. She followed all my instructions and made me feel super comfortable.
