Mediocre ingredients spoiled by a single flavor dominated overwhelming sauce that leaves a bad after taste. No points for the service, poor value for the money. The positive sides include an allergy considerate menu and great portions. Best avoided.

For some reason, considered by many as a must visit place in Tampere. Quite often, when a…read moreconference or similar event is held in Tampere, the attendees are brought to Plevna for the official dinner. I would not do that if I was organizing. The place itself is OK (made in the style of a Czech / German brewery house), but you pay restaurant prices for food of quality not much better than in a "grillikioski". Sausages, creamy heavy potatoes.. All beers are locally brewed and in a wide selection. But this also means that all the choices given are only Finnish beers which are all rather flat and with that one specific aftertaste (I still do not know what creates it), which I am not a fan of.

During summertime the terrace is lovely, though the seagulls are after your food, so be careful! Ruby's host quite a few special nights from piano battles to comedy nights, be sure to check them out! I would highly recommend Ruby's for a fun, relaxed night out.

I've visited Sitko twice; once when it had just opened in 2014 and once in May 2015. I've got to…read moresay there was a huge difference between these two experiences. And with the latter, the experience definitely improved. In 2014 they started with a very limited menu, a restaurant space that was too loud and with pizzas that heavily divided opinions. My pizza in 2014 was such that I honestly thought it was the worst pizza I'd had in a real restaurant. It was burned, toppings were so scarce that the crust bubbled and also the taste was just foul (have to admit I'd never eaten anjovis pizza before). After hearing much more positive reviews from colleagues, I decided to give Sitko another go and it was a good choice. The menu has expanded a bit and now had multiple pizzas I could have chosen from. Also the decor had improved so that the space didn't feel as loud anymore. They even had a DJ playing music now. On a Saturday evening the place was just as busy as it was after opening so they've maintained a good buzz and apparently improved the quality, winning long term fans. I went with the Vege pizza with eggplant, goat cheese, pistachio pesto, balsamico and pine nuts. The crust was thicker than on our previous visit and there were in general "a lot more to eat". I liked the tastes otherwise but balsamico combined with goat cheese on a pizza tasted a bit too sweet for me. I still definitely enjoyed the experience and I'm planning to come back to try the Quattro Formaggio and maybe the salmon pizza as well. The pizzas here are very different from pizzas anywhere else in town so I'm sure some like them, some don't. But I recommend trying the restaurant now and enjoying the "different kind of pizza"-experience as they've really tried to built unique tastes into the pizza.
