1) Show up on time just to sit in a small over crowded waiting room with little to no air circulation. They will keep you waiting at least 30 to 45 minutes from your actually scheduled appointment.
2) If you get called, you can walk past the Wizard of Oz cast of characters Dr. Selgrad has employed behind the reception desk. Complete with Fossilized, and Formaldehyde filled receptionists. Take your pick, they all have bad attitudes, bad face lifts, wigs and painted on eyebrows.(Courtesy of the Crayola Company.) Ask them for the simplest thing and they will act as if you are asking them to perform a magic trick, or do complicated math. such as divide one by itself, solve for x, or bend a bowling ball in half.
3) Next your in the examining room. Prepare for another 30 minute wait here folks. As you sit there and listen through the door at the receptionist bad mouth patients and other general things not to do or say in a professional place of business. You wonder why the long wait? as you ponder life's many mistakes including and up to coming to this appointment, the door will fly open and no its not Dr. Selgrad, its one of her P.A's. They will rush in and pretend they have so much to do, and you are tying up there day. Then after a very brief discussion, they pull out there prescription pad and start jotting down about a half dozen or so medicines you should get filled, (like you have $200 to throw around on medicine) then proceed to brow beat you into coming back in 3 weeks to repeat the entire process again. Never once addressing the original problem that initiated the scheduled appointment in the first place.
4) Once your back in the parking lot, with your head spinning, and sweat pouring down the back of your neck. You realize how much you hated going there to begin with. vowing never to return. Resist the overwhelming urge to get in your car and drive it into a wall. For those 2 hours of your life are gone forever.
