From the food to the wine to the service everything was top notch. My main complaint is the service though. While it wasn't terrible, it wasn't great either. It was very slow, especially for the dessert. Eventually we had to ask the waitress to check on it for us because it had just taken so long to come. Also, the waitress asked if I wanted ketchup for the fries (which was nice of her to ask), to which I replied yes, and then the ketchup just never came! The staff also seemed slightly disorganized in terms of who was handling what (ex: who would deliver the dishes, handle the payment, etc.). Overall, Côte has quality French food in a nice setting, but the service leaves some room for improvement which is why I am settling on 4 stars for this review.

I started with an aviation and the scallop appetizer with cauliflower and bergamot. The bergamot (think lemon) was bright and delicious and the scallops were perfectly seared. The cauliflower was a mousse to dredge the scallops through. It was as delicious as it was beautiful. Be sure to checkout their speciality cocktail list. There were many that looked delicious. It's hard to pass on duck confit and this duck was particularly good. The skin was crisp and it almost tasted like it had been tea smoked. Very tender meat and virtually all the fat had been rendered in the confit process -- it seemed less fatty than duck I've had in the States. The accompanying mashed potatoes were silky smooth and the cabbage was an interesting pairing. It was good, but I'm not a huge cabbage fan and would probably have opted for green beans or another veggie. All in all the food and service were great and the restaurant overlooks Leman below, so you can watch the evening bustle. Definitely drop in if you're staying at Leman Locke, as you'll get a nice discount too.
