Took granddaughter to play the par 3 course only to find out it was closed and might be open next year. Should update their website as such

Fun for the whole family. Par 3 course and driving range. I think they have lessons, too. This is my second time here and I love it!

I am a young woman who is just beginning to learn how to play golf,…read moreand I was excited to receive a beginner set of Top Flite clubs purchased from Dick's Sporting Goods in Saginaw, MI on December 28th, 2024, and gifted to me on January 5th, 2025. I decided to use the clubs for the first time on March 26th, 2025. My driver cracked immediately on its very first use. I'm fairly certain that should not happen with a brand new club. The following day (March 27th), I brought the damaged driver back to the Saginaw store after speaking with multiple representatives from Dick's online support team, who assured me the issue should be covered under warranty. Unfortunately, my in store experience was incredibly disappointing. The first employee I spoke with laughed in my face, and the second was noticeably rude and dismissive. When I asked for the contact number for Top Flite for any future issues, I was told, "No, you need to come in." Whatever, I guess. I was told I would receive an update by Monday, March 31st. That call never came. I returned to the store in mid-April, which is extremely inconvenient given that it is a 30-minute drive each way and not somewhere I typically go. I was told they didn't see that any communication was sent to the company the first time, so they would once again "look into it" and follow up with me. Yet again, no one contacted me. On May 5th, I returned once more and explained I was on a time crunch, having made the trip to Saginaw specifically for this. I was assured I'd receive a call within 10-15 minutes. No one reached out until after the store had already closed for the day, when I was finally informed that the warranty claim had been denied due to "user error." I find this deeply frustrating and hard to accept, considering the driver cracked on the first use, while every other club in the set remains in perfect condition. I understand golf clubs aren't going to stay in perfect condition forever, but for a club to break after a single swing suggests poor quality and for the store/company to refuse to stand behind the product only adds to the disappointment. I finally returned to pick up the driver on May 18th, only to wait another 10 minutes while two employees focused entirely on upselling a male customer on a putter, an interaction that seemingly required the attention of both staff members. Despite multiple visits, and weeks of waiting for updates, not once did anyone acknowledge the poor communication or offer any form of apology. I do not take writing negative reviews lightly, and I genuinely wish my experience had been different. However, the repeated dismissiveness and lack of follow-through I encountered at every step made it clear that my concerns were not valued. I truly hate being that person who says "I'll never shop here again," but at this point, I won't. Whether or not golf is viewed as a "man's sport," every customer deserves to be treated with respect. This experience was not only disappointing, but also disheartening.

Needed something to accommodate my FIL's higher instep. Wider shoes tend to be more comfy for him. It's the arch opening that's key, makes my FIL's foot feel cramped. My FIL was able to find a few options to pick from in the end. Was able to get at least one golf shoe on discount today. Will keep looking for a full price shoe too. The staffer helping with our dad's shoes was quick and efficient and helpful too. Found a pair of blue new balance that fit my FIL well and gray Sketchers too. Went with the gray sketchers and blue New balances too, since the canvas Addidas will get dirty quickly. My FIL also looked at some driver's too. He had to hand his driver's license to hit at the range with some different woods and drivers. I don't get why there is a random shark head by the irons and woods in the store though. Tried a senior select flex shaft Calloway and my FIL liked how it hit too. Ended up with two golf shoes for $201+, not too bad. He should be set for the season.

I ordered 3 custom wedges from Carl's Golfland with clearly listed specs in the notes. I even…read moreordered them knowing they were on backorder, so I was already being patient. What I didn't expect was having to follow up just to let them know the clubs came wrong. Their fix? Send me two more wedges... still wrong. From there it turned into a complete mess. THREE different employees got involved, and somehow each handoff made things worse. One reorders, another takes over with zero context, clearly never read the emails or documentation I already sent, and just keeps things moving knowing the clubs were already wrong. No communication, no ownership--just a cycle of confusion. Then they tell me to measure the clubs myself. That's where it really went downhill. I'm paying for custom-built clubs, and now I'm doing their quality control? So I did. I confirmed specs with TaylorMade and even paid a shop to measure everything. Taylor made even said they ordered them wrong. Specs should be true online even if it's a custom standard stock spec. While they said they talked with them. Not a single club was correct. After all that, the manager's solution is basically: send them back. No urgency. No accountability. No real apology. They tell me on the phone they have good customer relationship with TaylorMade. So what was hard to get it right the second time around. Here's what their mistake cost me: * 2 months of credit card interest * Gas running around fixing quality control their problem * Paying out of pocket to verify specs * Hours of wasted time I ordered these ahead of an international trip so I could practice. Now I have no time left and nothing usable because they couldn't get a basic order right. Meanwhile, I placed a similar order through PGA Tour Superstore--they got it right the first time and shipped fast. That's how it's supposed to work. So I can't blame TaylorMade because seems like they are doing their job right. If they get the order right with pga superstore and shipped it to me from their manufacturing facility. Seems like they're not the problem. And just to top it off--I also ordered an iron set from Carl's a while back. At this point, I'll probably have to get those checked too, because based on this experience, I wouldn't be surprised if they messed that up as well. Bottom line: If you're ordering anything custom, avoid Carl's Golfland. Save yourself the time, money, and frustration. Not worth talking to people who can't even do their job ordering without cross referencing manufacture specs. Like McDonald's gets my order partially correct. Not completely wrong. But still have the time to take care of customer's complaint. So who knows when my refund will be issued with compensation. This company just another company willing to take peoples money. We all know golf profit margins around 20-40%. I would never walk in there store or facility. Or even buy online from them again.

I've regularly played golf since the mid-1990s. I never got any of my putters regripped until…read morerecently. When it came time to choose to my new putter grip, I chose SuperStroke. I'd always been pretty happy with the stock grips that came on my putters. They were made by Golf Pride (the #1 golf grip manufacturer in the world). These days, several of the latest putter models come equipped with stock SuperStroke grips. For a relatively young company (they're less than 20 years old; Golf Pride has been around since 1949), SuperStroke has already made a big impact in the golf industry. Many of the top golfers in the world use SuperStroke: Justin Thomas, Dustin Johnson, Jordan Spieth (the current world nos. 1, 2, and 3, respectively), and Sergio Garcia (2017 Masters champion), just to name a few. I'm not going to lie - seeing the best in the world use SuperStroke on TV influenced my decision when choosing a new putter grip for myself. However, I also went to the putting green at my local PGA Tour Superstore, putted around and tried out several different putter grip models before making my final decision. Personally, I felt the SuperStroke CounterCore Pistol GT Tour ($34.99) felt the best. It had just the right texture, tack, and consistency for me. Dustin Johnson also uses the Pistol GT, which I think is pretty cool, but I didn't find this out until after I had the grip installed and was checking out SuperStroke's Instagram page (@superstroke). SuperStroke is known for fat, no-taper putter grips. What I like about the Pistol GT is it's one of SuperStroke's thinnest models with a 1-inch diameter. There's also the Pistol GT 1.0 (1.10") and 2.0 (1.20"). DJ uses the 1.0. To be honest, I'm not really sure if the CounterCore technology (there's a 50-gram "backweight" inserted at the top of the grip to help promote straighter, more correctly aligned putting strokes) really has that big of an impact on me. Time will tell. However, I do feel comfortable and confident with my new SuperStroke putter grip and I would recommend this brand to any golfer looking to change their putter grip. Go to your local golf equipment retailer, feel, and try out some of the grips yourself. You might turn into a convert like me. SuperStroke also makes grips for woods, irons, and hybrids, but I've yet to try them. All SuperStroke grips come in fun colors (I have the white and blue color combo for my Pistol GT) and look cool too.
