For desert order anything with a side of vanilla sauce--it comes piping hot in a small canning glass. The views and woodwork of the upstairs dining room are a feast for the eyes. Rud-Alpe is my favorite of all the on-slope dining options in Lech-Zürs.

We hiked over for dinner this indian summer evening via the Zuger Tobel and arrived at Alphorn with the Alpenglow. (Another option would have been from the first leg of the Lechweg, accessible on foot via suspension-bridge over the Lech, just a few hundred meters from Alphorn.) Mid-week, end of season and yet there wasn't an empty seat. We dined on the veranda, with soups to start, mains from the Tageskarte and strudels to end.
