Dennis responded promptly to my emergency request and suggested a friends' house rental nearby. We played phone and text tag for the next handful of hours but with Dennis's patience and my sporadic GPS, I finally met up with him @ the rental property... I fell in love with the house! And so I found out Dennis and his partner Paul help clean and turnover their friends' rental house. The attention to detail was in par of a 5 star hotel! folded plush towels and small details like freshly folded kitchen handtowel and sponge was so thoughtful! The place was immaculately clean! the kitchen was fully equipped with utensils and appliances to prepare every meal! Dennis & his partner were so kind to process the paperwork @ their house with a touch of kind hospitality offering fruit. Their house was also immuculately clean, sun-filled and laid back vibed anointed that I also noted to stay here for my next visit. My wife and I came here to celebrate our 1 year anniversary/late honeymoon, and we could not have DREAMED of a better experience! Emily and Court were such gracious hosts and you can immediately tell how much love they put into this place. The cottages were absolutely PERFECT, equipped with a mini fridge, WiFi and a smart TV, and a ceiling fan for temperature control. The shower was fantastic, and the bed was like sleeping on a cloud! The resort itself was STUNNING, with beautiful lush greenery as far as the eye can see. We found ourselves easily able to fall asleep to the sounds of nature every night. It was so wonderful to be able to unplug and just enjoy the sounds of the forest around us, and the rain falling. Unbelievably relaxing! If you've never been to Hawaii before, the weather changes pretty frequently. It rained every day we were there, but only for about 30 minutes or so. Definitely don't worry about getting rained out on vacation, because if you drive even just a few minutes down the road it'll be clear skies and sunshine! All of Emily's recommendations were spot on! She really knows her stuff and I felt like we had an inside source to all the best spots on the island - the ones only known to locals. The handmade breakfasts every morning were to die for, Court is an exceptionally talented chef - seriously Michelin star quality food that was breathtaking to look at and some of the most delicious food I've ever tasted! Not to mention everything comes from their own garden! I myself am not vegan but every meal we had was filling and absolutely DELICIOUS. A VERY special shout-out to Naomi the massage therapist! If you get a chance to do Naomi's retreat I HIGHLY recommend it! She really gave us such an amazing experience and we came away from it feeling relaxed and rejuvenated! Plus being able to see all the great work they're doing for the land is truly incredible. Whether you're vegan or not this place should be at the absolute top of your list. We can't thank Emily and Court (and Will!) enough for making our honeymoon a truly unforgettable experience! We will DEFINITELY be back!

We got in fairly late as we came from Kona side. We took a lot more extra time stopping at various points. Exhausted, we found our room (Rainbow room) quaint, pleasant and clean. Big room, walk in closet and quaint bathroom beside the common living area with kitchenette, refrigerator for guest use. Very eclectic design for sure! Most of the items are local artist which is great community support! It felt very homey. You are definitely in the middle of nature. Set in the middle, it was practical for our trip calendar which consisted of the surrounding areas of Keaau. Hilo, Volcano, Pahoa, etc was within close proximity and took no longer than 20-30 minutes to arrive. They were very accomodating! Thanks again! The breakfast buffet was excellent and fresh. There was enough for everyone. Markie was very hospitalable to help guide the days planned (Thanks for the Richardson tip!). There is sunscreen, aloe vera, snorkeling, bath towels, bath mats also available for guest use. Which was very convinient. We definitely would keep this B&B in mind on our next trip to the Big Island. Day 1 - Falls galore. Rainbow, Akaka, Pe'e Pe'e & Boiling Pots. Richardson Park where we saw a giant green turtle coming to bay to rest! What an amazing site! Some of the locals were also spear fishing! Day 2 - Volcano Park. Took about 30 minutes to get to. We were there until 8pm to glare at the luminous Lava glow ! The brightest in over 10 years! Room Tip: All the rooms are great ! See more room tips

There is a hot tub that lights up different colors and sits in the midst of the beautiful scenery. There is also a nice pool area with a rock waterfall flowing into it. The breakfast is complete with granolas, various fruits, monkey bread, toast, creamy eggs, coffee, assorted teas, etc. There is a large living room with books and games. There are plenty of places to hang out. The road leading to the B&B isn't that bad. However, the short road to the driveway has a lot of pot holes. They're easy to get around and this part of the drive only lasts a couple of minutes. Don't let this tiny thing discourage you. This place is great and the hospitality is excellent. We will be back again.

It must've been a 50 year old boxspring with a 4 inch foam topper. The final straw was the host gave me expired yogurt for breakfast. I checked out after the first night. The people who gave this place great reviews must've been staying in the other unit, otherwise this makes no sense. The Enchanted Gardens turned out to be a nice place to stay. Off in the green hills but very close and convenient to Keaau, Pahoa, and even Hilo. Sherri is a beautiful welcoming host and she has gone out of way to make things homey. She did everything she could to make us feel comfortable. Yes it is rustic but that is the point. We don't expect sterile when we visit Hawaii. We want to experience and share the way others live there. Humble but warm and filled with Aloha! You make your visit what it turns out to be. We had a good time and would stay here again. Mahalo.

The color of Mauna Kea with the moon shining on it was so magical all around us. There were some clouds that cleared pretty well by the end of our star gazing. We were the last ones up there so it got dark enough to see more than you'd expect with the moon. Jeff, our awesome tour guide, used a laser pointer to help us see the constellations we usually can't back at home. The images on the digital telescope like nebulas, the moon & star clusters were an amazing addition to have as keepsakes. My husband and I felt he made the tour a great balance of learning and fun. He had the group feeling like family before we even left from the pickup lot. Things to consider: I do recommend following the moons cycles booking this tour/your trip if this is especially important for you to see as many stars as possible. The sunset and views of the observatory's make it awesome anyways :) I struggled with altitude sickness around 12,000 ft. Jeff had made sure to let us know beforehand if we experienced any issues to speak up. I was hesitant as I know it would mean turning the whole tour around, but some tingling turned to dizziness and then a brief fainting. He immediately stopped the bus and helped ground me and make sure I was completely okay & coherent before letting me know our options for the tour. We made it up to the top with 2 more (included in tour) stops and I felt better with each one having more time to acclimate :) Thank you Jeff!! You handled this so professionally and I appreciate your check-ins for the rest of the trip. It's cold even with parka and gloves. It's so worth packing warm shoes and layers. The bus had ac and heat so that was great! Do it if you can! Awe-inspiring! Such an unreal environment that makes you wonder about so many things. Just take the precautions seriously, move slow and breathe deep.
