Hotel La Villa is truly a picturesque place for weddings and as this was a destination wedding, it was very small so the grounds worked well. The hotel is set higher up from the lake which has a very nicely manicured garden and grassy banks going down to the lake. It's a bit steep so for wedding guests who are elderly or have trouble walking, you may want to have staff transport them on the golf cart they have. There's a small bar on the shore with a few tables which sit right on the shoreline. The views are stunning! There's also a small pier, part of it is covered and they house some small tour boats. On the shore they also have a decent sized space for the wedding ceremony. My brother and his wife chose to have the guests face towards the lake and we in the wedding party faced the hotel. They had rows of benches covered in white linens. We brought our own flowers, decor, and my brother-in-law officiated. The hotel was accommodating on all these points. The reception was held in their main hall which was essentially a room of windows and was beautiful! Spacious for 50 people which left room for a decent sized dance floor. Guests faced the lake view once again. The staff was very professional and personable. They truly catered to all of our needs and the level of service was top notch! The food at the reception was also delicious, fresh, and beautifully presented. There were several courses and aside from skipping the seafood, I truly enjoyed all of them except the dessert. I think having the dessert and wedding cake wasn't necessary and the wedding cake they served was so good that the peach tart was a hard and not very flavorful. The wedding took place on a Tuesday so I'm sure our rates were much cheaper than on the weekend. I would love to visit this hotel again just to relax by the lake!

Like most Bavarian restaurants this place lacks a great deal of choices for vegetarians. I had the Maischolle for lunch and it was delicious with a nice olive and tomato ratatouille on top and served with a really nice side salad and Bratkartoffle. I licked my plate clean. For dessert we decided to share a Kaiserschmarrn. It took a while to get to our table but when it arrived it was a huge portion. I am glad we did not order the big size as what we received was enough to share with four. It came with deliciously spicy stewed plums and was very flavourful. It was the best one I have had in Bavaria so far and I was in heaven. Crispy, stodgy, buttery and sweet.....its an amazing treat :-)) The staff here were very friendly and the menu extensive. They even brought out a nice bone for the dog and, he was in heaven and, completely satisfied chewing on it whilst not caring about the world :-)) I would come back here anyday for a meal. English is not spoken here so a bit of German would help. The waiter told us that many people are coming next week for Kaiserschmarrn. I did not enquire as to what the occasion was but with such good Kaiserschmarrn, I would not be surprised to hear it. When we wanted to pay with a standard European Maestro card as we happened not to have cash on us, we immediately got yelled at and threatened by the older red-headed waitress that she would get the police. She didn't even try to see if our card worked. So my husband went to the car to get some change to make the €6,90 bill, while the waitress stood over me, like I would run away (I'm 8.5 months pregnant btw). No where on the menu or in Biergarten did it say cash only or German cards only. So apparently visitors or tourists are not welcome.

This particular Gashof is quite a large site with patio seating, an indoor restaurant, and then a fairly large biergarten with a play area for kids! This was where we did the rehearsal dinner for my little brother's wedding, and it was a great pick. As it was a remarkably warm and sunny day, the inside portion of the restaurant was closed, as was the patio (both which are super attractive to the eye) however, the biergarten was bustling with what felt like a majority of the town! There are a lot of really large trees that canopy the biergarten which keep it shady and cooler. The tables are smaller but can easily be pushed together which we did for our larger party. Chairs are a bit flimsy. The food is typical German cuisine. I found the gravy for my roladen was fairly salty, but the roladen itself was one of the best I ever remember having! (no offense mom!) We received mixed up salad which was fairly decent. There was something in there I wasn't sure what it is, but it wasn't good so I left that for my wife! I don't remember if she even ate that. Service was quick for our meals though there was a lot of confusion as to who ordered what but could be our fault since our large families spread out to different tables which I'm sure made this a bit of a nighmare to also breakout the bill. Sorry! All in all a fun and memorable experience.

I agree the meat was high quality but the cook and his wife have the palate of a cows backside. Service was fine. The lamb my wife had was nice. I rather go to munich for greek food. No stuffed vine leaves on the menu either. I have never been to a greek restaurant that did not offer that. That alone should have been my first clue. The table beside us of 8 cleared their plates. But 90% of germans do that if they like the food or not, they just want to get their € worth. Will never go again to eat and will tell everyone I know not to order the gyros. 55€ spent and my daughter and me could not eat our meals.
