Ultimately, my deck is done, but two and a half months later. It is done right now, since he had to repair the improper work done. I would not recommend.

We hired Ascending Construction for a master bath remodel. The quality of the carpentry part of the…read morejob was well done. Unfortunately we encountered several problems along the way. The estimates we were quoted for both the drywall finishing and plumber were off by half adding around $1000 to the job. About a week after the job was finished, the grout in the til started cracking. He came out to repair it. 3 weeks later, the cracking continues and a tile popped free. We consulted with a tile installer who informed us that the job was completed without an underlayment, so the tile would have to be completely removed and reinstalled, for the cost of $1000. When reached out to the contractor again with no response.

My concern was that I had over 12 yards of carpet left over- according to Dave (Manager and person who measured), that was to be expected due to 'repeat design' and stairs couldn't be done any other way to piece together instead of cutting 3 feet of carpet for stairs off a 16 foot roll, leaving me with $400 of excess carpet which he states he could only sell as remnant for $75-100. Additionally, was to be 'free installation' which ended up costing me another $419 due to it being laid on concrete and 'repeat design', as well as separate charge for stairs. I would also recommend requesting and reviewing a written estimate as the original that was sent me. The actual ended up being almost $500 more than my final cost, including Illinois versus Wisconsin sales tax

He kept asking us for more money to buy more epoxy and we gave the money to him. We have proof with all his messages asking for more money and our Zelle payments. He never returned to fix the mess he made of our floor. So, yes, we called the police and took this thief to court. We won the court case because we had documentation and photos. Granted he didn't show to court, which also shows lack of character and still has not paid judgement. We are going to lien assets if judgement isn't paid in 30 days of this post. Read his replies here and the language he uses. Would you want that man working in your home own business!? Lastly, another reason not to hire Trever Dutcher is his recent 2024 mugshot. He showed up 2 hours late on the first day, and got the job started. The late start meant he couldn't get as much done the first day as he wanted. We made plans to meet early the next morning to finish the work. He never showed. He has never responded to a dozen attempts to contact him via email, phone, and text. He left the countertop uncut and with the front edge unfinished and several puddles of epoxy on the floor which won't come up. I had to do my best to finish the job, myself. I hope he is okay and nothing bad happened to make it impossible to finish the job. If that isn't the case, I'd say just move on. Not worth paying for a job to be started and left in the middle.
