When I arrived Andrew was ready to lend a hand in helping my friend and I unload our truck. During the process, my friend fell ill, and Courtney the other employee at the storage facility made sure to come out with several bottles of cold water and help Andrew with getting all of my belongings out of our moving truck. I was extremely impressed with how well they packed the storage unit and took such care with my personal items. I have been back several times to the storage facility and each time I'm here the guys are always ready to lend a hand if I need it. Outright Negligence, Bait-and-Switch, and Zero Accountability…read more This is hands-down one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had. I rented a storage unit at Go Store It Self Storage (20 Garris Rd, Wilmington, NC 28403) and was assigned a 3rd-floor unit. When I arrived to move in, the elevator was completely broken. The on-site manager openly admitted they could not fix it, and multiple tenants confirmed the elevator had been out of service for days -- meaning the company knowingly rented upper-floor units that were effectively unusable. That's not an inconvenience -- it's deceptive and irresponsible. I contacted corporate customer service expecting a basic level of professionalism. Instead, I was met with indifference and refusal. There was a first-floor unit available, yet they refused to move me as a courtesy, despite the fact that THEIR facility was not functioning as advertised. Their solution? Charge me an additional $30 per month to access a usable unit. In other words, I was forced to pay extra for their failure. That is a textbook bait-and-switch. This company took my money while providing a non-functional facility, showed zero accountability, and pushed the cost of their neglect onto the customer. Renting a 3rd-floor unit without a working elevator is unacceptable and borderline fraudulent. If you're considering this location, be warned: equipment may not work, management won't help, and you'll be expected to pay more just to get what you already paid for. Avoid this place unless you enjoy frustration, wasted time, and being taken advantage of.

This review is for a U-Haul rental. So I needed to pickup a French door from a big box store and…read morequickly learned it would not fit in the back of my truck. So we scrambled and found a U-Haul rental place that had a truck we could rent that day. Lucky for us, Pinnacle Storage had one available. Pinnacle only had a 26' truck, which was overkill for what we needed. Beggars can't be choosers so we took it. Driving that 26' on those narrow roads in downtown was dicey as hell. Much respect to truck drivers that do this for a living. The rental process was easy and quick. Turn in was also easy. Only complaint about U-Haul in general is they advertise trucks for $39.95 a day; however expect the final bill to be a lot higher. Mine was $91 and I only had it for about five hours. Insurance (optional) and other fees really rack it up. Some notes about Pinnacle. They are right off busy 3rd Street. It is a real pain in the ass to turn left to get out of there. Also, dropping off a 26' truck back to their little parking area is also challenging. The staff treated me well. I would have no problems doing busy with them again.

The most recent lease in 2024 increased from $209 to $240 and again from $240 to $280 in less than 1 year. Their contract you sign gives them the right to increases. "Occupant acknowledges that such stated Monthly Rate may be increased by Lessor, at any time and by any amount, upon written notice to Occupant of such increase." We found rates at one-third the cost for the same size unit about 4 miles from division drive location in Castle Hayne. Only rent very short term from them and consider checking other options. We paid $775 this month in moving fees for approximately $3900 savings over the next 12 month at the less expensive location.

The people are friendly but watch out for their fees. You can get in to a unit at a fair price but…read moreexpect huge increases every few months. Over 8 months, I saw a 257% increase. On June 1, 2025, my rate was $155 for a 10'x30' unit. Not bad. Two months later, a 44% increase to $223. I was now hours away in an RV while our house was just beginning construction. Nothing I could really do. They had me between a rock and a hard place! Six months later, I was told my rate was going up to $398, now a 80% increase! OMG! So from $155 to $398 in 8 months (a 257% increase)! That is not fair, it is robbery. Legally, GoStoreIt should not be able to do this type of increase. Totally wrong and unfair and won't use them ever again and will let everyone I know to beware!
