The quality of living conditions for animals @ Secret World are quite dire. I have qualifications in equine management, have worked as a vet assistant, trained in animal husbandry and was fortunate enough to grow up on smallholdings and work in farming, so have reasonable experience and understanding of animal care. I was yet again disturbed to see animals @ Secret World in tiny enclosures, wallowing in their own faeces, breathing the stench filled air of a glaring lack of basic hygiene plus that of a stinking, stagnating pond. and these were just the living conditions of those animals that were on display to the public. It is no wonder that Secret World is not generally open to the public. Lord knows how low their standards of care sink when not under the public eye on one of their 'open weekends'. These open weekends are as overcrowded and uninviting as their reeking animal pens and the attendees always appear to be equally as miserable as the poor inhabitants. I find myself using Secret World as an education to my children of poor animal treatment as we wander around, ashamed to appear part of the supporting fraternity. Having attempted to support Secret World over the course of the last six years, in futile wait of improvement through our donations we will not be doing so again. If anything, it is worse than ever before. read more
