It's also open on a Sunday, at least it is on Mother's Day thank goodness as there have been a couple of emergency visits for presents for my mother in law over the years. The prices aren't the cheapest, but neither are they outrageously expensive and the service is great. I prefer this place to the other options in Kings Heath itself. We had never been here before but it was convenient to the care home she had been staying in. From the moment we entered the shop we were made to feel so welcome and at ease. Nothing was too much trouble to assist us in choosing the flowers in what was a very sad time for us. Today Friday 7th February we collected the flower arrangements. When we were shown the flower arrangement my wife was overcome with emotion and tears. They were beautiful and everything she wanted and beyond hers and my expectations. What a wonderful skill and talent Sarah and her colleagues have. Outstanding value and far better than we have had before. They have a lot of general decorative paraphernalia, which is nice, but they mostly take orders for flowers, hence not being knee-deep in gerberas. They are also next to the Co-op funeral parlour, which is, of course, sensible, but also a little morbid. For people that just want some flowers to brighten up the place, that is, rather than being constantly reminded of death. In fact, there is an adjoining door between the two businesses, which, again, is all very practical but just seems a bit.... conveyor-belt funeral style to me. They clearly also cater for happier occasions also, with lots of 'New Baby' displays, which brightens the place up a bit. Birth, death and flowers. They sell brilliant quality flowers at reasonable prices, I have started buying a bunch now and then to brighten up the living room which is something I've never done before. I bought the wishing well and it looks fantastic in the garden, it's beautifully crafted and looks very rustic and charming. The couple who run Budz & Woodz are lovely, they are always ready to give advice about anything and will recommend only products that are right for you. They will ask lots of questions to make sure you get the right item and this is great considering most shops of this type will try to sell you the most expensive thing in there! They also provide a delivery service for bulkier items which proved to be very handy when my fella bought a fence panel which ended up being too wide for his van!
