Legally he is allowed to be everywhere including restaurants, my job, any given store etc and he threw my dog and I out. And I explained to the owner that that's discrimination and it's also violating my rights. The law is very clear about service animals in the state in Nevada. The sad thing is is that I was going to drop a couple hundred dollars here because I was doing Christmas shopping for someone and so they just lost my business and now I will spend that money at a different thrift store. Don't shop here and don't buy anything here you can't go treating customers that way. It says service vest on my animal he's a service dog. Zelda's is a very discriminatory thrift store and as far as what I could tell looking at prices everything was overpriced to begin with I mean come on it's used items which they probably get for free anyways through donations and private parties. Everybody in Carson City knows my dog every grocery store I go my job that I do for a living even all the other thrift stores and this clown yells at me in front of all his customers and tells me to get out of his store. Thanks but no thanks I will make sure I tell my friends not to go here so the owner is going to lose a lot of business. My money is good anywhere else so when you kick me out of the store it means that I'm not spending my money on your store and then these little thrift stores that are 10 ft wide wonder why they end up going out of business this is the reason right here! At least Scoobys would have never treated anybody that way but see Scoobys went out of business and this clown took over. I hope the owner realizes that you just broke the law and I'll see you in court I'm suing you here's the law below you better brush up on it! No, it is illegal to discriminate against a person with a service dog in public places, housing, employment, and transportation, as the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) protects the rights of individuals with disabilities to be accompanied by their service animals. A business can only deny entry or ask for the animal to be removed under specific, limited circumstances, such as when the dog is out of control or not housebroken. What is considered discrimination? Denial of access: Being denied entry to a public place (like a restaurant, store, or hotel) because you have a service dog is considered discrimination, even if the establishment has a "no pets" policy. Unequal treatment: You cannot be isolated from other customers, treated less favorably, or charged extra fees for having a service animal. Discriminatory policies: Businesses and public entities must allow service animals in areas where the public is generally allowed, and their presence does not "fundamentally alter the nature of the goods, services, programs, or activities". Employment discrimination: Employers cannot deny a person the opportunity to work because they use a service animal.

At first we thought it was closed because all of the lights were off. But the main door was unlocked and we entered. There was 3 people sitting at the table in the middle of the store - they stared us down but didn't say a word. We wondered the entire store which was primarily books, movies/dvds/VHS & furniture, with a few odds and ends. I think my definition of "gift store" is different than theirs because I didn't see much that I would categorize in that department. The odor in this store was the usual thrift store aroma, with a splash of...something very unpleasant. We saw what looked like a music venue in the back with a few guys talking really loudly from that area. After wondering the store, we started to work our way to the front when one of the gentleman practically ran to follow us out. When we looked back at him, he pulled out his key and dangled it indicating he was locking the door behind us, still not saying a single word to us. Out of probably 5 people in that store, not a single one said anything to us. If they were closed, they should have locked the door behind them - it was Saturday late morning.... I would label this more as a used book/music/movie store. I definitely won't waste my time here again. Such a weird experience!

As I was in line waiting to check out I noticed some people arguing price with the owner and thought nothing of it, BUT I absolutely should have. I made polite conversation with the owner as he was ringing up my items but then when he said my total I was a bit taken aback as it was higher than I had expected. When I was shopping I had been keeping a running total as I went and this seemed well above it. Unfortunately I did not trust my gut and paid for my items and figured I'd just check everything when I got in the car. I was given no receipt and when I went to check the items I remembered that as we were chatting the owner had cut off the price tags. I calculated (rounding up) what I remembered the tags to have said (even checking pictures I had sent my husband for opinions) when I was shopping and was shocked to see that I had been overcharged by about $50 dollars. It seems like this guy likes to take advantage of people and just charge whatever he feels in the moment and then makes it so there's little to no consequence for his actions because there's no way to "be sure" unless you're watching and calculating every single thing as he goes through. The only reason this review isn't one star is because of my previous pleasant experiences but BE CAREFUL here because you never know when the owner might decide to ruin your day.
