Carnegie First Lending services and loan officer Jaime Beus are heroes. I was dealt a nightmare…read morescenario and Jaime and Carnegie First were able to save us $5,000, get us the house we wanted, and closed our loan in 10-days. We originally went with a company called Great Southwest Mortgage (see my review on them for all of the details). To some up the nightmare we were originally promised a 5.13% interest rate on a 30-year fixed loan. Our original loan officer could not write the loan because we were purchasing the house out of state. Her boss took over the loan and worked with her on it. 10-days before closing he tells us our rate was 8.75%. I have a 777 credit score and a substantial down payment. I explained to him we were promised 5.13% by his employee. He then tells us that the employee was fired a few months ago, that she is likely and identity thief, she owes his company $10,000, has bounced checks, and had owed for damages done to their companies suites. He had warned us to change our account numbers and have our Social Security numbers put on alert with the credit agencies. We were shocked. If this were true and she was an identity thief, why did he work with her for so long on our loan? Why wouldn't he warn us from the beginning? We scrambled to change all of our accounts banking, investments, loans, lines of credit, everything. He repeatedly offered to get us out of our loan, but we had spent a week traveling to Seattle and after searching 50 homes we had truly found our perfect home. It was obvious that he did not have our best intentions in mind. We were forced to make a tough decision and decided to switch lenders 4-days before we were to close. In addition, we had to give the seller an additional $5,000 non-refundable deposit so that she would not walk away. We contacted Jaime Beus at Carnegie First and she took complete charge of the situation. She was up front and honest about everything. She immediately contacted the escrow company, our real estate broker, and the sellers real estate agent and began coordinating the mortgage process. She truly put the minds of all parties involved at ease. Jaime kept us informed every step of the way. 10-days later we were signing our loan documents, we were able to keep our $5,000, got a loan a 6.5% even after the mortgage rates had been steadily ticking up, and most importantly we had the house of our dreams. I could never overstate the debt of gratitude we owe Jaime Beaus and Carnegie First Lending services. They are true professionals and possess the greatest level of integrity. They will remain my only choice when looking for a lender.
