That being said, it is fairly efficient at hearding people who may not be used to air travel. TSA is always running at maximum capacity, they are not the friendliest of representatives, but they get it done. The gates are too small and are showing their age and their bathrooms are not really equipped for the amount of traffic. They are just prepping you for future queues. However, if you are going to the happiest place on earth, this is the gateway there.

TSA actually moved faster than I expected and we didn't have too much of a wait getting through security. Once we got through, we pretty much rushed straight to our gate. Luckily we still had enough time to grab food beforehand. The food court had decent options, nothing amazing, but enough variety to find something. It also looked like they had some pretty good shopping spots, but I didn't really get a chance to explore before boarding. Overall, no complaints and nothing super memorable either. Just another functional airport experience.

These employees were assisting people to their concourse, as they have four (A, B, C, and D). There are escalators and elevators for those who need them. I found multiple trash cans and recycle bins in the airport. There was a water waste collector right before security that I used to dump My water. The bathrooms in the airport have many stalls and were clean and spacious. The gate areas can get crowded I waited two gates away from my gate because it was a little too busy for my taste. The restaurants were open as early as 6:30am. There is no delta lounge, unfortunately. I did not have enough time to visit any of the restaurants or shops. People in the airport are friendly. I dropped something and the people behind me hollered and helped me recover my item. I saw this happening routinely through the airport- another lady dropped her jacket and someone returned it, etc. Very nice people here, honest. TSA agents were kind and efficient. This is an easy airport to catch a flight. I can't speak for parking- I returned a rental car. There's not much nearby the airport, but a few convenient stores about 2 miles away. It's a small airport, which says it's international- I wonder where they go?

Between the airport and United, I wouldn't go out of my way to fly out of here again. United premier checkin had one couple in front of me that took over 15 min. So may issues- over weight bags, bought the wrong kind of ticket, etc. only one person for premier and one person I. Regular checkin. Going through pre-check, young kids took long. Wheel chairs going ahead, etc. Got to gate c and only 1 place to sit for food and drinks. Line so long and no chance to to sit and eat. Got upgraded, raised my hand and walked to counter but layout is such that I couldn't get through the people. Lost the upgrade. She just gave it away immediately. Not a fan of this airport for United. Suggest bringing own food and hovering upfront with everyone else no matter what.

Parking was free (although we had to drive a couple laps around the small lot to find a spot). They do have a gate that was being installed that looks like parking may be a paid item in the future. Both the check in desk and security were very easy. They offered Pre check guests a ticket so that we did not have to remove laptops or shoes. Once in the terminal, they had a small snack bar with a number of offerings. However, once everyone arrived for the flight, there was very few places to sit, hardly anywhere to charge your devices, and it was very hot. Overall, a very easy experience, but would hope that they put some upgrades on the air side once business ramps up.

I guess that for those of you looking to take flying lessons or send six tons of diapers to Djibouti, this place has something right up your alley. Parking is easy and free (for now), so keep those quarters in your pockets (for now). They're gonna build short and long term lots eventually, so stay tuned. The shuttle was easy to get to. The other issue was the wasn't much places to sit in the airport, lots of empty spaces with nothing in it. Please put more seating in those areas. Departure was easier the car return area was directly connected to the shuttle to get to the main entrance of the airport. TSA was a little busy but wasn't too bad. Staff was pretty good.

However, recently we decided to go right into SRQ and we loved being at our favorite Sarasota spots right after landing. After landing we were quickly able to navigate the small airport, get our rental car, stop for caffeine and be at The Ringling all within 30 minutes of landing. The airport is small so it's easy to navigate but that also means there are not a ton of amenities. We enjoyed local artwork and displays throughout. Also, the volunteers that provide airport information and tourist information were very welcoming.

I did notice the parking lot was full, but I was lucky enough to be getting dropped off. That could be a major issue on a busy day. Getting through security was really quick and everyone was super nice. They even dressed up as the Grinch greeting people as you got on the plane, which was such a fun touch. It's nice, clean, fairly new, comfortable and the prices for fuel were better than most in the area. People are friendly. Enterprise is in the building making car rental easy. A nice little cafe is also in the building. Will keep this in our "remember" list.
