Seasons Flowers is a gorgeous store. I was hurriedly walking down Arch one day and pulled over when I saw a few bead plants in the front of the store, arranged in a really beautiful way. Bead plants. BEAD PLANTS! In all reality, bead plants are actually not as uncommon as I'm making them sound, but I've been wanting one for a long time. And I'd been looking for a species of tillandsia (air plant) of the more rare variety, which I found in part of their really high end-looking terrarium selection. Many moons ago, I was a flower delivery gal driving a van all over Chicago and dropping off arrangements to Oprah right outside her office door and stuff, so I kinda know what I'm talking about when I say that this is a contemporary flower shop. The storefront is really inviting and whimsical in that urban/eclectic/polished chic kinda way -- it's easy to be pulled in. Just think of this as Center City's answer to Terrain being in Glenn Mills. The prices are kinda on the Terrain side as well, but man, when you want a bead plant in your life, you buy a freaking bead plant when you see one ($18). The variety of plants are wonderful, many easy to take care of. There are definitely more houseplants for sale than flowers, but as far as gift-giving goes, I think it's a pretty cool and more sustainable idea to give a plant that will keep on growing vs. flowers that die in a week. The flowers I saw are nice and the selection is way beyond roses and baby's breath (thank heavens). Obviously, I love plants AND I'm a ceramicist who makes pots. Now that I work very close to Seasons, I'm going to have to make a pact with myself NOT to buy every vine-y, mossy, cool-leafed thing I see without considering WHERE they're going to live in the jungle that will ineveitably become my new apartment! Do not give this place business because you will be disappointed with the quality of flowers and service by the owner. The store is never open, nobody is ever there, and seems like they pick and choose when they want to open or answer the phone. DO NOT hire them for your wedding!!!! They have no clue about what brides want and act like they know but it will be a mess on your wedding day. They are very expensive and you will be enticed to pay for the price, but DO NOT hire for wedding or events or buy from this place. Shady shady shady and a big disappointment!!! I came in the morning of Mother's Day in the hopes that I would be able to put together a beautiful arranagement for a reasonable price. I specified the type of flowers (peonies) and my budget (less than $50) and came back an hour later. I was given a beautiful bouquet, even prettier than I imagined! You could tell the woman put care and effort into the arrangement. I was so thrilled that I picked up another smaller piece for my grandmother. We used Seasons Flowers for our daughters B'not Mitzvah. The owner, Yoon, is extremely talented, dedicated and creative!! She is a true artist!! We didn't even look anywhere else...we told her our budget and our vision and she went above and beyond what we wanted! We especially love how unique her work is, we were so happy that our affair was different from any Bar/Bat Mitzvah we have been to! We have and will continue to recommend Seasons to anyone who asks! DO NOT USE FOR WEDDING!!!!!!!! A family friend recommended Seasons Flowers to me, and would not tell me the name of the shop because he assured me she would do a wonderful job. This is the one thing I let go of for my wedding and it was a HUGE mistake! I should have insisted he tell me the name of the shop so I could read the reviews... in which case I would not have booked them. Overall, I spent close to 10 hours with Yun discussing exactly what I wanted for my wedding. I printed out pictures, sent her emails, and went into the shop during several of my lunch breaks. Apparently, NONE OF IT MATTERED! The morning of my wedding, when the flowers arrived to my house (which, by the way was a struggle to get her to even do.... she wanted me, on my wedding day, to go pick them up) my heart SANK! They were the exact opposite of what I wanted, AND my bouquet was the same size as my bridesmaids (all of which were tiny)! I called her immediately and asked that she redo at least my bouquet and she told me no. It was not until my sister got on the phone and started screaming at her did she reluctantly change her mind. When I finally got my new bouquet, several of my flowers were dead/ drooping. When we got to the reception hall the centerpieces were not what we discussed either. I will admit, they looked pretty from a distance, but again, there were several dead flowers in them (could be because the flowers she used for my wedding had been in her shop since that Monday, 5 days prior to the wedding--I saw them there when I went to drop off my bouquet charms and confirm, again, exactly what I wanted) and they were not what we spent hours discussing and planning out. The day after the wedding, when I was telling my grandmother about what happened, she told me the flower on her pin was wilted when she got it, and that the florist did not arrive to the church to put the flowers out until 5 minutes prior to the start! I could not believe it! But, now that I have my pictures back from my photographer, and none of the church shots leading up to the ceremony have flowers in them, I believe it. Yun may seem like she is paying close attention to the details you are giving her, but from my experience it is just to make you feel at ease--none of it matters the day of, she does what she wants to do. This may be a good shop to pick up some flowers on the way home from work, but this is NOT a good shop to use for a wedding. read more

I share the negative views of other reviewers about Seasons. Lovely shop run by a woman who seems both knowledgeable and sweet, but then there is no follow-through on her promises. We gave her quite a large order and she came to our house to make suggestions on how it would be done. But then she failed to send us her promised proposal for two weeks in a row. She was quite upset when I called to cancel the order, but my instinct is to be very, very wary of this place. read more

I love Seasons. The owner knows everything about flowers, and the flowers and modern creative arrangements are long-lasting and of an excellent quality. No 1800 flowers here---she makes succulent terrariums, has excellent seasonal flowers as well as flowering tree branches, potted plants and unusual fillers. Not street-vendor or grocery-store cheap, but much better all around than Hana & Posey around the corner (all their flowers die within days). I live in the neighborhood and this is my absolute favorite place to go. She's open 9-6 most days but is closed Sundays--and sometimes Mondays. Anyone who has had a negative experience obviously has too much time on their hands to be a control freak. The owner is an artist, she will put things together in ways you never thought of. Your friends will be jealous, your boss will be impressed, your mother in law will be satisfied. If they're not, come back and talk to the owner--I'm sure she will fix it (although I have been a client for 3 years without a single incident). If you like Terrain in exurban Philadelphia, you will love Seasons. read more

I'm shocked to read the other reviews on here. Our experience was the exact opposite! We used this florist for our wedding and we incredibly pleased with the results. The owner spent lots of time with us making sure the arrangments were exactly what we wanted and she is incredibly talented and created beautiful arrangemetns. Not to mention she made extra special addtions that made our wedding perfect! She was delightful, trustworthy and timely in our experence. She even bailed us out when our cake maker made a disastrous cake - she came to the rescue and fixed a mess. I hired her for my wedding. I spent a lot of time with her to discuss specific details. She did not come to my wedding site. She sent 2 random men I didn't know. They were 3 hours late. The cake was not decorated as discussed; the bamboo gift favors were not what we discussed; the bouquets and boutineres were done wrong; ceremony site indoor and outdoor were not done; head table of 15 did not get their bamboo favors; table display of printed bamboo symbolism was not displayed. Owner never even called me back or wrote me back after I had written her a very disappointing letter after my wedding.Owner, Yoon over promised and under delivered on her products and services. I regret hiring her for my wedding. She did not even come to the wedding site as promised! She didn't even call me on my wedding day to let me know she wasn't coming as promised. Very bad experience. The woman may be nice, but she runs a terrible business. I dropped off 3 planters for her to fill. She first quoted me $150.....way over what I expected....they were small planters and one was just for basil. I got her to lower the price to $110 but I have a feeling she is going to skimp on quality. She told me they would be ready in a week....I thought that was a little ridiculous but I wasn't in a rush so I was fine with it at the time. The day I was supposed to pick them up she called to tell me she needed another week. When I went to pick them up (now 2 weeks from the day I ordered) she was closed. I went back 2 more times the following week and she was closed. I called 3 times and left 3 messages. (All contact qas during normal business time) I finally called back when I called the "special events" number on her answering machine. She told me I could come "anytime to pick them up" but she is closed every time I suggested....12 pm on Tuesday, 9 am on wednesday, 12 on Wednesday. Really? ! You are much better off going to Petit Jardin en Ville on 3rd st. They make beautiful arrangements that last much longer. Please take my advice!!! I'm ready to just forgo my planters and $50 deposit. read more
