Discussions for patient check are not personal nor friendly. The receptionist is curt with patients as she tells the to stand in line. The waiting room his clean and remodeled. There is a slim selection of magazines and no television or music. And I just got yelled at for not returning my phreesia. Yikes!! It is a good thing I love my doctor or I would never come here. They have online checkin that circumvents much of the checkin.

For our annual physicals, blood is drawn there and they do offer flu shot clinics at times. I find everyone there to be very helpful and they make me feel comfortable even when I do not feel great.

( all the while wearing a hazmat suit) That was when I started searching for a new direct pay Dr, who truly cares about patients. Before I left Wendowski she barely stepped away from her computer to give me any semblance of an exam. My direct pay doctor spends a solid hour with me. And she actually has a caring bedside manner. I had a persistent cough and figured after 3 weeks it was time to see a doctor. St. Vincent's is close to my house so I called and asked who was 1) female and 2) had the earliest availability. I received an appointment with Dr. Szewczyk (don't ask me how to pronounce it, I have no idea. I think it's Sedgewick). The experience was great. I wasn't kept waiting long, and I really liked her energy from the minute she walked in the room. Since I was a new patient, she went over my medical history, did a quick checkup, and wrote me a prescription for my cough. Then she asked me "Is there anything else I can help you with?" Now, that's not something I've ever heard from a doctor before!!! She also suggested some ways I could manage some of my issues with minor changes to what I was currently doing, rather than suggesting yet ANOTHER prescription. Very satisfied.
