Lew came out to see what was going on with my dryer, since no lint was being deposited on the lint filter. He thoroughly went over the dryer, and tested it as much as he could. He diagnosed the problem as being a clogged hose, and gave me a place to call where I could get it cleaned out. He was prompt, knowledgeable, courteous, and friendly. As I said above, good service! Patrick our tech was amazing, however, they canceled our appointment originally scheduled for Wednesday and pushed it to Friday between 8-12. I heard nothing from their dispatch and at 3:30 pm I started to try and call customer service but all I got was an automated system that told me nothing. After about a half hour finally got a hold of an actual person who escalated the call and he showed up about 4:30... 4.5 hours after my scheduled time. I understand things happen and maybe the tech got held up at another call but to have zero communication with your customer is unacceptable and so frustrating. Will not be using them again unless absolutely necessary. read more

Please with the service she our compressor went out on our frig. It was covered on warranty and lucky for us the tech had just 1 compressor left in the truck. The tech arrived within 4 1/2 hours of me scheduling appointment and in less than 2 hrs he checked it all out, replaced the compressor and refrigerant and while waiting vacuumed out my coils while the cover was off. I am not pleased with Sears Kenmore brand knowing they have same defective compressor built by LG in all their Kenmore Elite models specifically those models begins with #795, but LG wouldn't allow Kenmore labeled models to be entered into the class action lawsuit against LG for same failed compressor which LG Provided and placed into Kenmore models for Sears . Had they been I might have recovered more in a claim along with not paying labor and gotten some or all of the $500 worth of drug/freezer food lost in the week were gone that the compressor went out. We were luck our frig was only 4 years old, otherwise it may have been more expensive to upgrade the computer board for the replacement compressor. The replacement compressor is only has a 90 day warranty whereas the original one had 10 Year warranty on compressor. Do your research before you buy another Kenmore frig and compare repair and longevity rating with other manufacturers. read more

(This was the review I left on the Sears website) This review is NOT AT ALL for the technician. This is directed towards Sears overall service. I specifically told the representative when I scheduled my appointment that I needed someone to come out and replace my drain pump in my washing machine. I already knew that was the problem but I just didn't have time to replace it myself. I gave her all the information for my washer. I also specifically told her that if a technician is going to come out to make sure he has the part, because it would be pointless having him come out to diagnose a known problem and not be able to repair on the spot. She told me the pump would be considered a minor repair and the technicians usually always have parts like that on hand. Today the technician called me to come by for the service, but informed me that none of the information I had relayed on my original phone call was sent to the tech, nor did he have the part on hand, and that it would take 7-10 days to get it. (however, Sears parts direct said they could get it to me in 2 days!) This would have been my first time trying out Sears appliance services. Instead, I will now never be using them! read more

If there was a zero, I would have selected. Called Sears Home Services to repair a broken range fan. The two service guys showed up, told my wife they 'think it's the switch', ordered a new switch (to be delivered to us) and then to call them if I had any trouble installing. Certainly, nothing even close to 'repair', but hey, I COULD handle the switch installation. Real problem was when I saw the bill -- not only the $100 in min labor charge but they charged $175 for the switch -- which I found online for $35. Hell -- even the Sears PartDirect website had it for $75. It took me three days and 5 phone calls to cancel the part and get a refund (for the part only, the still charged me the $100 labor). These guys are crooks -- from what I can't tell, they make there money on little old ladies that still respect the Sears brand name. read more

First call local repair, it's no wonder sears going under. Repair person at my house about an hour, 249.00 for labor as the part had a 10 year warranty on it. When asked, he said that's what the book allows for the repair. Email said you still have to pay diagnose fee but repair person said if I elected to have him repair the diagnose fee would go away. Looked at receipt after he left, the diagnose fee was on it. Tried to call their customer service to complain, couldn't hardly understand, guessing Mexico. Person on phone kept reading same script no matter what I said till I stopped them and,asked for a supervisor, guess what, couldn't understand him either. Was told I will get a call back within 48 hours, not holding my breath. These guys are a money making machine who I won't bother calling again read more

I called Monday to schedule a washer repair and was told I would be scheduled for Wednesday 10a-2p window. When I received text confirmation of 8a-5p shortly after, I called back. The representative said my record showed 8-5 but it would be corrected to 10-2 (although I'm positive this was the same guy I had just spoke with). On Wednesday morning, I called the number he gave me to confirm the time. When again it was back to 8-5, I asked for a supervisor and shared my dismay. I never received the phone call from the technician that I was told would come. A couple of hours later, I checked with Sears only to find they had canceled my appointment, stating I was not there. It's still within the 10-2 timeframe. They obviously tell the customer what they think you want to hear to get the appointment but then do what they want. Needless to say, I'm very unhappy and would highly recommend you DO NOT use Sears Appliance Repair. There's bound to be a local entity who will do a good job and not stick it to their customers. I would give them a zero star review if I could. read more

We've always had excellent repair service with Sears and it's probably been 40 some years. The only thing I don't like is, back in the day,(lol), Sears would call you in the morning to let you know about when they would arrive, even within their time frame. They don't do that any more. They just give you the 4 hour window! read more

Made my appointment online and the notifications were great! Service guy came out and had diagnosed my problem within 15 minutes of being there. He had the right part needed and was all fixed and done within less than an hour. The service guy even offered me the 20% discount for parts and service. Well, I should have known better than call Sears but I thought what the heck, they're struggling. Had a problem with the washer thumping, which I did know was going to be $90 plus for a diagnosis. The guy knew what was wrong before he even looked at it, but, I was told, so okay. Then he tells me above the cost of the parts ($88) he will need $240 to put them on. I asked how involved a job it was, figuring it had to be a couple of hours at least, but he said about an hour. I asked why $240 for an hours work, he said he didn't know, but it would also take a week to get parts. I since watched a video on the repair (suspension rods) and if I was doing it would take me about twenty minutes. If I accept the diagnostic because they told me, the $240 is just basically seems to be whatever they feel like charging. I asked the guy why not $275 ? Or $300 ? Anyway these guys are about taking a large amount of your money for a simple basic job. The tech was ok, I felt bad for him, just a kid, he's gonna need a thick skin if he keeps working for these guys. read more
