We were displeased with this technician. We felt he and his assistant were rushing to finish the repair job. The technician requested to borrow from us a knife to scrape the ice, instead of taking the time to use hot water to melt down the ice that had built up due to the water leak (which was the reason we called Sears Home Services). We did not provide the knife as we were concerned they could damage the plastic parts. We had to stay close by observing every step to ensure our freezer was not damaged in the process of them repairing the water leak. This is the first time this technician has come to our home and definitely we don't want him back in future service calls. Your technician was prompt informative and had answers to most of my questions. I was just very surprised that he had to get approval from Sears for a lot of technical questions which conveyed some caution, apprehension and hesitation. Sears needs to give their repair persons some leeway on this. They also always want to upsell a lot of other services. I feel for the repair person if they have to get approval and sign-offs on everything. I was lucky that the repairman I got was courteous and honest. read more

The appointment was scheduled for between 1pm and 5pm. He called at 9am to say that he was on his way. He said that he was notified by Sears to show up at 9am. I had to make arrangements at work because he said he knew nothing about the appointment in the afternoon and he couldn't come back later. Not only the appointment was not honored, he had a terrible attitude. Once here, he wanted to charge me again because according to him it wasn't paid for. He wouldn't start working on the repair until he was getting paid. Fortunately I had the email with the confirmation of payment. He said that he is only sent out by your company . Again his attitude was terrible and the customer service at Sears would rare it with 1 star also. read more

I don't know if it was bad luck on my part or just overall bad service. I had to order the the motor for my front load washer and it took less than a week to arrive... broken. they sent it back to get replaced and then that one got lost in transit. then another one was ordered and arrives at my house this time... broken. another one was ordered and this time it arrived as it should have, but it took a couple more weeks to schedule something where we were both finally available. once the motor was replaced, my washer was still not correctly running the cycle. it was diagnosed again and it now the mother switch that's not working properly. I was out of a washer for four months at this point. I finally got fed up with Sears A&E and just got a refund. I have yet to receive the refund, and took it upon myself to just go buy another washer. DO NOT RECOMMEND!!! read more

Very Disappointed, apart from getting charged 750.00 for the service that my machine so called needed. The service man left my washing machine worse. I called another company they came and fixed my washer for 85.00 dollars and it didn't need any of the parts that he gave me an estimate on. It was a peace of paper that was stopping the water from draning.. So where is the good service here. And he left my washer worse then when he diagnosed it. read more

Technician was not polite, since the beginning. Was not very informative on the problem. Told my wife to sign on a blank screen and didn't want to show the full page so my wife could read it. She had to ask to see the full page several times. After he finished the job, sent a text without me knowing, called me and asked foe the payment. I told him that we had cash to pay, in a rude way he said he couldn't accept cash. Either check or credit card only. Then he told me that he had sent a text for the payment. I told him that my wife would give him a check. She gave him the check, he took a picture of my wife's ID, and asked for her email. Then he said that it didn't work and stated that they payment had to be done via credit card. Very rude on his interaction with my wife. Didn't show that he deleted the picture of her ID. It seems odd that 2 Technicians arrived in 2 different cars. He didn't even say when it will be repaired, just asked for payment and left Hope you can send someone else to fix my problem read more

The Technicians five so far have been doing their best to repair my microwave the is been going on five month they keep ordering parts and they keep asking the company to give me a replacement and the answer is no order the parts tone of the times that the poor Tech did his best to fix it the dam thing exploded it made a large hole on the blanket that I use to cover my glass top he asked for a replacement the answer was no order new parts the Tech are real nice people they go out of their way for the costumers but parts are a different story there is so much they can do. I advised the technician of issue of appliance "dishwasher" and he scanned the appliance bar code and proceeded to run a quick electrical diagnostic test and said that he was not getting any error code. I then advised him that it was leaking water from the bottom of door after half way through dishwasher cycle which was approximately 20 to 30 minutes into the wash cycle and not a an electrical issue. He then looked under the appliance and said that he didn't see any water leaking with it just being on for the first ten minutes. I advised him again that it leaks after 20 to 30 minutes or half way through the wash cycle. He then told me to call my warranty company and have them send out another company because he didn't see any issues in his electrical diagnosis. I thought that was very unprofessional of a sears technician and a complete waste of time since I took time off of my job to try to fix an appliance. do not recommend getting this company to try and fix your appliances. read more

My stack laundry unit began to leak and Sears Appliance Repair said it was the tub assembly. The tech ordered a replacement. $808 was charged to my Sears card. It arrived broken and the second tech reordered. They sent TWO units. When they arrived, the tech said the old agitator couldn't be used and I needed a $160 new one. It had to be backordered and took several weeks. When they came to complete the repair the tech said the replacement wasn't the same as the original part and I needed a new tub part which might or not resolve the issue. After a month, I was livid. The tech offered to refund all but a $96 diagnostic fee. I accepted and the tech told me he'd requested the refund. But when they came to retrieve the parts not already shipped back, they refused to sign a receipt. I am still waiting for a refund and instructions from Sears Parts how to return the tub and agitator now installed but useless. I subsequently bought a new stack unit. I want my refund and want them to retrieve their parts. read more

The apppointment system they have is dreadful, at best! You can schedule an appointment for which you get a confirmation and a 4 hour time frame in which the technician should arrive. BE CAREFUL! I waited and it turns out a "confirmation" doesn't necessarily mean a technician is coming. Needless to say, I waited and no one showed up :$! I called to ask what had happened and all I got was red tape, no explanation, no discount for wasting my time, not even a for sure appointment! read more

I bought a maintenance contract for my AC unit from Sears two years ago and every year Sears is supposed to service my AC unit. This year I made a call to come and service my unit so they gave me a date in which they would come. Well, I waited all day and they never showed up. Sears scheduled me for another day after I called to complain about the no show and Sears told me to wait for them from 8 am to 5 pm (second time) After I waited all day, no show up again. I called one more time and finally, on the third time the Sears maintenance man showed up but the service man only cleaned the unit with a little water and chemical but did not pull the unit out to clean it completely. I was very dissatisfied the way he cleaned the unit after I waited for them for many hours. read more

Tech completed repair but Sears cost is WAY TOO HIGH!! Will look for someone else to repair Sears appliances in future. I paid their $89 diagnostic fee but like a fool I was also sucked in to paying $50 to have back of fridge cleaned. Had to order valve. Took a week to receive and after I called and set up time for final repair I received 4 emails exactly the same, confirming time. (Doesn't appear they know what they are doing") Both trips, I was given an arrival time of anywhere within a 4 hour period. Total cost for repair was $350 for water dispenser on fridge!!! They came out January 9th to diagnose problem with leaking stack washer. The technician ordered a part - tub assembly. I paid $808. It arrived broken. The second technician ordered a replacement. They sent TWO. When he came back he discovered it also needed an agitator, which took three weeks to get here. When he came back to finalize the installation he discovered the wrong tub had been sent. He said an additional part MIGHT (or not) fix it OR I could get a refund of all but the diagnostic visit ($96). I opted to cancel the service. I'd already returned all Sears' parts except for the partially installed tub and agitator. The tech came by to retrieve them BUT when I asked for a receipt proving they got their parts back he refused. He left empty handed. I have been battling Sears Appliance since Feb 13 (today is Feb 27) for my refund, They hide behind phone menus and only after much searching did I get to talk to a rep a couple of weeks ago. It did no good. I disputed the charge on my credit card. Now they'll have to deal with me. DON'T get screwed like I did. read more
