Really enjoyed my meal here last night! Everything tasted fresh and flavors were great! Service was super nice and we didn't wait around too long for our meal. This place is tucked in a corner. Kind of hard to see. Inside was clean and nothing too fancy. My friend also got the chicken katsu and it was also really good! It's also BYOB so enjoyed that part too!

Walked in and tall man greeted us and seated us. Food was pretty good but the staff was the crazy part. We were the only people in the restaurant and there were about 4 staff members visible. Our waiter started to clean the store and sang Lady Gaga's "Bad Romance," on the top of his lungs while we ate and then when he noticed I had finished my plate he commented on how fast I ate...I then told him it was because I was hungry and it was all we had eaten that day and how it would be our dinner...interaction was weird but I always eat fast so I just shrugged it off. Also asked us if we needed forks when he gave us chopsticks and when we said "no thank you," he said "oh wow so you know how to use them?" Cause we are white. Lowkey racist but he was funny so it's fine. Definitely not what we were expecting but it was definitely something so if you want weird memories you and your friends can laugh about then this is the place. Giving this 5 stars for the laughs

We flew in on a late night flight and were looking for a place to grab a bite to eat. We found Sean's and saw that they were open late. Wonderful! The restaurant is located in a shopping strip mall and nothing fancy. We walked right in and they let us sit anywhere. The seats are really hard so don't flop down! The menu is pretty extensive and has a lot of options for everyone! The prices range anywhere from $12- $20 a roll and the appetizers are around $14. The weird thing is that they have a sign in the door that you are allowed to bring in your own beer! Love it! Good to know for another time but I was hoping for saki at least. We ordered about four different dishes: Poke Stuffed Jalepeno with tuna appetizer And two deep fried rolls. The cooked roll had melted cream cheese in it and the texture threw me off. The salmon was ok and the tuna in the second roll had a texture of cat food.... Sorry!!! I guess I'll stick to raw rolls next time! The Poke was delicious and definitely hit the spot for my Hawaiian poke urge!! Other than that... probably won't be back..

I was visiting Kona for a weekend, and my coworker recommended Sean's Kitchen for dinner. It was a rainy evening and I couldn't find the restaurant at first. Located in a strip mall in Kailua-Kona, the restaurant looks kinda dark from the exterior (I thought that it was closed). When I peeked in, the interior of the restaurant was dark (kinda like a sports bar), but it was definitely a sit-down restaurant, and there were a good amount of diners inside. I was expecting a local braddah (named Sean) cooking behind a counter and local sistahs waiting the tables. It was more like an L&L that was methodically run like a better Chinese restaurant. We were told to sit wherever we wanted, so we picked a booth further from the main entrance, and away from the service counter. Our server (a young girl, very polite) brought our waters and menus. I was surprised to see a variety of entrees to choose from and even sushi rolls. This place is kinda eclectic ---- local, Japanese, Chinese, Korean, American food choices. I ordered the 3 choice combo with chicken teriyaki, assorted tempura and California rolls. It looked like they had several cooks working in the kitchen, and our entrees came out quickly. I didn't expect the portions to be as generous as they were. I was definitely stuffed after finishing my entree. Haha. I was generally satisfied with the food and prices. If I don't feel like driving all the way out to Teshima's, I think that I'd go back to Sean's Kitchen if I'm staying in Kailua-Kona.

Food amazing !!! Staff and service 5 ! The place has lots of room for big crowds and also for nice private dining! Highly recommended if you are in Kona at the beach. You can have sushi and traditional Japanese food. The bento box is sooo big that I have no idea how big are the regular entrees I don't eat raw fish so I was pleasantly surprised at all my sushi options!

Upon entering, we were informed to take any seat opened and so we did. Service was quick! The food was good, but it could have been greater! We love Hamachi, when we seen they served Hamachi Carpaccio we had to try, unfortunately the lemon was too overpowering. The salad could have used less of the dressing and more variety in greens or maybe even carrots. We loved the calamari, something wasn't right with the fried oysters though. Our main dishes were yummy! We were often checked up on and received water refills as well which was so nice!

Hidden Gem in Kailua-Kona! If you're in Kailua-Kona and craving sushi, Sean's Kitchen is the spot. I honestly can't believe how amazing the food is at these prices -- it's almost too good to be true! The rolls are incredible -- fresh, flavorful, and beautifully made. Every bite tastes like something you'd expect from a high-end sushi bar, but without the high-end price tag. The quality is absolutely top-notch. The service? Spectacular. Friendly, fast, and super attentive without being overbearing. You can tell they care about the experience. The place is spotless, and everything runs smoothly. And here's a big bonus: you can bring your own alcohol with no corkage fee. That alone makes this place a winner for family's. Do yourself a favor and check this place out. Sean's Kitchen is easily one of the best finds in town -- high quality, super affordable, and genuinely welcoming. What more can you ask for? Bonus is that they are open late . You can also stop by the Westside Wine store right nextdoor and purchase a big selection of liquor , wine and beer . Lots of cold stuff on hand to bring with you to Sean's. We will be back .

Decent Japanese food in Kona. We stopped by earlier today for lunch and were seated right away. We ordered an assortment of our Japanese favorites - sushi, soup, bento box, etc. Food arrived quickly, except the seafood udon noodle soup, which took a while longer. We annihilated most of our food, as we were hungry after the long two hour drive over the saddle road from Hilo. My favorites were the salmon nigiri (oh so tender and fresh) and the crunchy California roll. Service was friendly and efficient. Clean toilets - outside the restaurant but close by. Parking is free and plentiful.

What a great Japanese restaurant with great service and delicious food. This small fantastic restaurant really got some great sushi and Japanese food My personal favorite was an appetizer called Dragon balls which is stuffed mushrooms with there unique twist . A lot of very good fresh dishes, sashimi, nigiri and every type a sushi roll you could think of. The service was top notch never had to ask for a refill and were ready to help serve with everything from explaining the dish's to getting my toddler occupied Will be coming back again

I'm eating here right now as I type this. AMAZING sushi rolls and amazing service. I was actually overwhelmed with all the options they had! It is such a chill restaurant and the staff are incredible people. This satisfied my sushi craving so well and I cannot wait to come back! Whenever I visit Kona again, I WILL be coming here!!

Good sushi place. The unagi plate was delicious. Bonus points for open late in an area where everything closes early.

Found this place was open till 1 pm and they served pancakes. Nice, because the alternative would have been Denny's...no thanks! Nice little hole in the wall where you order at the window and they serve you your food at the table. I ordered the Seafood omelet and a side of Macadamia Nut Pancakes, wife ordered the Boneless Short Rib plate. My only gripe was the pancakes only came with maple syrup and not a macadamia sauce, which we had to buy separate. I was used to having the sauce come with the pancakes at a certain restaurant in Kailua, Oahu, so this was a bit unexpected. But the food was well prepared and tasty. It was really good! So good we came back the next day to have breakfast again. Only this time it was Adobo Fried Rice. We brought two plates for me and the wife which we soon regretted because my wife could not finish hers since the portions were really big. Should've have shared just one. Another place to add to our go to list to eat when we come back to visit Kona.

Service is upbeat and fast, they are friendly and are open to any questions that you may have. Ambiance is unique, as it feels like you are in a bustling city. I ordered the Chicken Curry Katsudon!!! The items are made to order so you get a bit more freshness than food sitting under a heat lamp. The rice is well cooked, but the batter is a bit heavy on the items, and one piece of chicken I bit into had a weird funk to it. The mac salad on the platter was good -- not too heavy with mayo and the noodles were cooked well. Similarly, I liked that the rice was not mushy and each grain stood on its own. Would I stop by again for a plate? Most likely not. One last nit-pick with Hawaii BBQ Deli is that the pricing is wildly incorrect. We looked at the menu online before stopping by and were surprised that we were charged a price higher than what was listed on the menu. We didn't question it and just paid the price, but it was a bit annoying that the menu in store on the counter was out-of-date and the price could have been entirely made up on the spot.

We also came on a Friday evening, so it was nice to see of people here. The spot serves Hawaiian plate lunches, and it definitely did not disappoint. Portion sizes were huge, we probably had the best macaroni salad of our entire trip here, and flavors were super bold, but not overly salty. Pork Belly Fat Adobo (10/10) - this was fantastic! The meat was literally fall apart tender, and was able to retain its juiciness. Sometimes braised meat gets a little dry for me, but this place definitely does it right and preps some juicy pork. - the pork belly sauce mixed with the rice was probably one of my favorite things on this entire trip Spicy Garlic Furikake Chicken (8/10) - this was a huge plate! The fried chicken is super crispy and retains its crispiness on the outside for a while. It packs a very mild kick will not being overly salty or spicy. - to illustrate the crispiness, we were able to get our food to go, drive over to the beach, and while eating the chicken was still delicious and crisp Overall, a pretty unassuming spot from the outside, but as you can tell from the reviews of this place definitely hits the spot. We came here just before their lunch break and it seems as if we got the last of the AM batch of food they had already prepared. I HAD TO get the Garlic Furikake chicken plate that they were known for and it was dry. Not only that but the rice was dry as well. The Kalua Pork was dry too and the "spicy" garlic butter shrimp barely had any heat or garlic flavor at all. About the only thing that was decent was the Mac salad which was probably made and bought from somewhere else. I was also looking forward to buying a shirt, a tank top or a hat but here was ZERO apparel anywhere. The whole back wall was a big gridwall panel that was completely bare. I'm really hoping that the next time I drop in I will have a much more positive experience.
