Delicious food for a reasonable price! I originally wanted to take my spouse out to a romantic ocean view dinner but we opted to eat at Miyazaki instead. All I got to say is NO REGRETS! We ordered a roll, a hand roll, a bento box, a sizzling steak platter, iced tea and tempura ice cream.. $98! I don't know about you, but that was very satisfying knowing I didn't have to spend over $300 for one entree and one side. 5 stars also for service. They didn't rush us to eat or anything but somehow we were in and out in less than an hour!
First time in Hawaii and this was also our first meal here. It's been raining so we just wanted something quick. I quickly glanced at the reviews and it had a lot of 5 stars so I gave it a try. I thought the sushi and sashimi was just okay. I've definitely had better and more fresh sushi and sashimi. I was actually a little nervous to eat the uni because the color seemed a little dull. Usually for fresh uni, the color is a brighter orange. Some of the nigiri pieces were still pretty good. It's a small little place with a couple of tables. Service was good. Our bill with tip for a family of 5 came out to be about $400. A little steep. Maybe this is standard pricing in Hawaii? Not sure. Overall, food is alright and decent, but I don't agree with all the 5 star reviews. I did like that they had a kids menu though.

Made reservations here on our last night on Big Island. Very quaint place for a nice dinner out. The vibe is warm and you're met with a great smile by the staff when arriving. The food we got were also really good. Didn't take a picture but we also got the pork bun, shishito peppers and VIP roll. All were pretty fire, I can see myself ordering it again. Overall, this place is a really good stop for sushi amongst all the restaurants here in Kona. They're pretty new and only been in business for a few months but I can tell they're here to stay!
This is a hidden gem, easy to find, easy parking right in the front. You have a choice of outdoor or indoor dining. Indoors there are about 6 tables that seat a party of four, one booth for six people, and counter space - about six seats for a total of about 35+ seats inside the restuarant. We ordered a tofu salad, sashimi sampler, unagi don, and a yummy sparkling peach drink. The other customers in the restaurant mostly ordered sushi - all of the rolls looked great! Soft tofu salad was excellent with a creamy dressing that was light, citrusy and flavorful. Perfect for a hot day or if you want something refreshing. Sashimi sampler was superb! For $30, you get three slices: one each of salmon, hamachi, and maguro sashimi x 4 in a chef choice of flavors and sauce. Flavor 1: dill aioli - creamy, a little heavy and drowned out the flavor of the fish. My least fav. Flavor 2: sweet chili sauce with shreds of chili pepper - it was good, but nothing special. Flavor 3: garlic sauce - light and flavorful, delicious and tasty Flavor 4- yuzu and truffle oil!!!! Wow!! That was my fav! I wouldn't let the staff remove the dish even when I finished the fish as I ate the other slices of sashimi in that sauce! Winner! Unagi don was ok, and the sparkling peach was spot on for a drink at the end of the day. Service was great, attentive and cheerfully greeted when we entered. We'll be back the next time we're in Kona!
I wish I could give this place 100 stars. I am a sushi lover, but this place blows every place I've ever been to out of the water! Our server Lily was the SWEETEST! The food was outstanding. I will forever dream about this meal. My husband and I will fly back to the big island just for this place. If you are here do yourself a favor and book a reservation, they do get busy but 10000% worth the wait!

We had such a great dining experience here. The food was amazing, and we're really glad we decided to stop by. We came right when they opened, which worked out perfectly. We ordered Step to Heaven, Ankimo, sizzling steak, and a selection of sushi. Everything was delicious, but the sushi really stood out, super fresh and memorable. The steak was also incredibly flavorful and cooked perfectly. Our server was fantastic, she made sure everyone had a great time. You can tell this spot is going to do really well in Kona. I'd definitely recommend checking it out now before it gets hard to book a table. We're already looking forward to coming back and trying more from the sushi menu!
We tried Miyazaki in Kona last night for a pre-Valentine's dinner and it was absolutely amazing! So excited to have a new Japanese restaurant of this quality here on the Big Island. We started with sushi and Sashimi, king salmon, hamachi and the uni was incredibly fresh, rich, and buttery, and the scallop nigiri melted in your mouth. Beautiful presentation and perfectly seasoned rice. You can tell they use high-quality ingredients. The sizzling seafood entrée was another highlight served hot on a cast iron plate with tender squid, zucchini, onions, and colorful bell peppers in a flavorful sauce. It came out steaming and smelled incredible. Every bite was packed with flavor. One of my favorite dishes of the night was the carpaccio scallop appetizer. It was plated so beautifully with a light creamy sauce and fresh greens, almost too pretty to eat. The scallops were fresh and very delicate. The staff was very friendly and attentive throughout the night. The sushi chef even came out to our table to check on us and ask how everything was such a nice personal touch that made the experience even more special. If you're looking for a great spot for date night or a special occasion in Kona, I highly recommend Miyazaki. We'll definitely be back!
It is great sushi restaurant, I think this is one of the top sushi spots on the island! The sashimi was incredibly fresh and high quality--you can really taste the difference. The wagyu beef roll was absolutely beyond, rich and perfectly balanced. Moreover, the soy sauce feel so rich flavored, and when I asked actually they have homemade soy sauce. I also loved the double hamachi roll, super flavorful and fresh. On top of that, the servers were very kind and attentive. Highly recommend

The Alaska roll w salmon w fish eggs on top was flavorful The agedashi tofu appetizer was in a soupy bowl unlike what we have had before and unique The highlight was the appetizer Saikyo Yaki Kanpachi which was miso marinated fish baked w the pink radish your supposed to chew off base to flavor it. Took little longer to make and last to be served but worth it and first of its kind I have ever had We went to KTA grocery store within few min drive which is an Asian grocery store filled with happiness and modestly large to get snacks afterwards!

I like to keep my reviews up-to-date so I went back to Miyazaki this week. This time we had the Chicken Yakisoba and it was the bomb. It came out on a cast iron skillet with crispy noodles and delicious flavor. This time, I was glad I had a reservation because it was packed on a Friday night! I asked for small portions of rice for the nigiri that I ordered but still came with lots of rice. The fish did not taste fresh. And for some reason oil was on my dish. The ikura was very watery . Nothing tasted authentic Japanese. Restaurant is cute and service for good. Sadly I will not return. Shiono's is much more authentic. read more

The freshest sushi in Kona, we had the double hamachi roll. We also had Sizzling New York Steak with veggies and Tempura Calamari Steak. It's a small place with 7 tables inside and 5 stools at bar. There are three outdoor tables. I highly recommend Miyazaki when in Kona. read more

The service here was phenomenal with the servers coming over and double checking our experience, while here I decided to try a few new items uni and kenpachi and eel, everything was super fresh. Although I wasn't the biggest fan of uni the texture was something special it was very fresh and worth it for the experience. They play really nice jazzy tunes from the 80s for the music and honestly it was such a vibe. I loved the kenpachi and the samurai roll was phenomenal my friends ate some nijiri and a cold ramen and rainbow don and mackerel. All of it was really good we topped off with dessert a tempura fried ice cream also delicious! The price was what I'd expect for an epic fresh sushi place I wasn't shocked by anything other than the market price of sea urchin/uni. All in all the service was top tier the guy came and checked on us and when he found out I was trying new things he was honestly excited to hear my opinion on it all. read more

Our server Ade was very friendly, gave amazing service and truly went above and beyond while we ate. The food was also so delicious and favorful, we got the carpaccio hamachi, and hand rolls. The sparkling lychee tea is definitely a must try as well ! Ambiance was very nice, really reminded me of japanese restaurants when on my trip in japan. The food, service, and the ambiance are amazing. Our server Ade originally from Indonesia was so friendly and welcoming. Practically, the staff were friendly and polite. I ordered their VIP tools for $24.00 and my wife ordered Tofu salad, wow! You can't go wrong especially if you're hungry like me. I didn't have any issues about parking either. Fantastic place and great staff. read more

Sooooo good. Casual pleasant ambiance with classy yet friendly service. We are visiting from the Oregon coast where we live in a fishing town and have access to fresh fish -- so we have high standards! The hamachi was incredible-- melt in your mouth fresh. The Hawaiian roll was both simple and decadent, expertly topped with chopped macadamia nuts. The lilikoi jasmine iced tea was lightly sweet and refreshing. Highly recommend-- try it all; the menu is extensive. read more

Randomly picked this place to make a to go order for a bunch of the popular menu items here one day and now I can't stay away. Dining in with the team that runs this place is even more enjoyable than grabbing to go though. Ade is always a great server and everyone else clearly knows what they're doing because the food is fantastic. Even if you want to make an alteration on something they will make recommendations to make sure you can try all the best stuff. But the Wagyu roll is a must every time. read more

Have been to this restaurant 3 times now in the past few months. Everything is wonderful from the atmosphere to the service. Food of course is amazing or I would not go back, have tried the tacos, various rolls and Chirashi, sake and beers. Even the music is great. Take out is also available but the vibe is so great there and location is central, make time to sit and enjoy. read more
