When searching for a pediatrician, especially as a first time mom, I looked for input from local families. Seaford pediatrics was a name that came up very often. I was anticipating interviewing pediatricians but the week I was going to, my baby decided to arrive early. I was so overwhelmed at the hospital to name a pediatrician the day she came - so I called Seaford Pediatrics. They were wonderful with telling me information about their practice, infant care center, and call center. They informed me about their vaccinations and MDs who were at the practice and also were easily able to get me in the next day after discharge which ended up being a Saturday. We have rotated among all 3 doctors and met a few PAs as well. The infant care center which you are able to use for the first year of life, is so wonderful, quiet and private. We love Dr. Wren. She has been a wonderful pediatrician and I have recommended this practice to all my friends - since we are in the season of first time parents. I am always heard here and love the staff. They are all so friendly, kind and empathetic. read more

My three kids are adults now but Dr Meckes, Dr Wren, and Dr Yaker were a huge part of their childhood. They are caring and smart and I miss going there with the kids. The office staff is incredibly rude and unprofessional. They spoke to me so disrespectfully each time. One receptionist claimed to be an assistant to all and refused to disclose her title while requesting I speak about my sons medical records. Turns out she's a scheduler, not an assistant to ANYONE. The billing person started talking to me about vaccines and when I asked a question she rudely said you can't ask me that! we've had a good rapport I'm routing you to a manager. I said thanks then let the manager know that their BILLING ADMIN was giving medical advice. Laura apologized and we had several positive conversations, sadly she is now retired. The doctors are so busy they're unaware of the medical treatment NPs and PAs are giving, so much so that when I brought my 2.5m old infant back in bc I disagreed with the treatment plan from the PA, Dr Wren immediately took my son off all the medication as it was inappropriate for both his age and his diagnosis. I would not feel safe attending this practice any longer. Yaker and Wren are great, but the office is running its own show with people with no medical degree assuming their 20yrs behind the reception desk gives them the right to offer medical advice and speak disrespectfully to the parents of the young children they are meant to provide a service to. read more

I've had nothing but good experiences at this practice with my 1 year old - the doctors are all great and they truly seem like they care - our favorite is definitely Dr. Wren. The office staff and nurses are all very friendly and the wait time is usually little to none. They often make follow up calls to check in after a sick visit which is something most doctors in my experience do not do. My ONLY negative feedback about this practice is they desperately need to clean or replace the floors in the patient rooms and could do a much better job at keeping them clean. When you walk in to a doctor's office and see dirty floors it doesn't leave a great impression. read more

We have been taking our son for the past 3 years and have had nothing but great experiences. Dr Rhen is fantastic as is the whole staff. They have a whole bunch of doctors so they offer a wide range of hours and weekends too. The waiting area is painted with a nice underwater motif and they always have cartoons playing. They even offer an area for kids getting well visits to sit away from the sick kids. We have always been able to get an appointment when needed and we usually get called in within 20 minutes of our appointed time. We have never had to wait long in the waiting area. I highly recommend but heard recently they are no longer taking new patients so perhaps I should stop recommending them :) read more

This office is impossible to get anyone to answer the phone. They only want you to leave a voicemail and then call you back. I am never able to get my sick child in for an appointment to see a doctor the same day I call. They claim it's because "it's just the season" but this has been an ongoing occurrence for years all 4 seasons. They need to hire more doctors or stop taking new patients. read more

I've never posted a review before, but happened to see a bad one for this office. I absolutely love this practice and we have been using them since my daughter now 14 and perfectly healthy, was brought home from the NICU. They are so accommodating, they love and care for the kids as if they were their own. I trust them implicitly and always know they are well researched and extremely knowledgeable. Thank you so much for answering late night frantic phone calls, coming to the ER to oversee stitches, fact checking and helping with recalled products. Even being up to date on all vaccination news and pediatrics studies. You are all so wonderful especially Dr. Meckes, Dr. Wren and Dr. Yaker, love you too office staff. read more

Horrible place, doctors are totally out of touch, trying to push suicide thoughts onto kids, giving forms to kids that can't even read without help, something is wrong here, stop pushing your agenda on our kids and pushing parents out of the loop when kids are small so you can question with forms they can't even fill out or comprehend without support of a parent! My twin girls started to go to Dr. Meeckes when they were three days old. My girls are 16 and we are still going there. Friendly doctors and friendly friendly staff. The are like family. Very accurate diagnosis. Every doctor goes into detail to explain every thing. read more

Very disappointed with this office over the past few years. Starting seeing them when my daughter was born 2 years ago. In the beginning they were great, always saw us right away but lately we never get to see a doctor, only a nurse practitioner and the wait times are ridiculous. They make you pay check or cash-what office doesn't accept credit cards, super inconvenient. Doctors are booked up for weeks if you request one and the receptionist staff are rude. Make you pay for your records if you do switch and they won't fax them over. You have to go and pick them up. Everything about this office is inconvenient and that's why I am switching. read more

Very saddened at how this place has gone down. 8.5 years with them since my daughter was born and I've sat 1.5 hrs for them to take everyone else inside and I sit in the waiting room with my daughter. I rarely go here anymore. I get better treatment and they know us by first blame at ERDox. This was the last straw. All 4 of the drs are great. Love them. Affiliated w Winthrop too so that is wonderful. Saw their nurse practitioner today. Big disappointment. She was 40 min late seeing us and wasn't helpful or compassionate. She also didn't read my daughter's chart prior to the visit and asked us several questions that were already covered in depth in her chart. When I asked her questions she didn't really answer them so I just stopped asking. I'll only see the docs from now on. read more

I am very pleased with Seaford Pediatrics. My son is almost a year old, and we have been using them since he was born. They get rave reviews, so I went with word-of-mouth. I know three people that go there, and they have been super happy there. They are located right near the Seaford Library. They are in the same parking lot as the Seaford Movie Theatre. There is always parking. I have seen all 7 doctors in the practice. I honestly really like all of them. They are patient with my son and sweet with him. They answer the entire list of questions I bring with me each time! I wasn't so sure about using one with so many doctors, but I really like all of them! I do know that you can request certain doctors if you would like to. There are men and women doctors. They do not do interviews before you give birth. You can stop by there and they give you a packet of information. I am pretty sure you must start with them when your baby is an infant. You can't start there when you have a 5-month-old, for example. I would check on that in case that information has changed. I think you can start with them if you have a newborn and another child- then both children can start there. I think this is due to the fact that they are a very popular practice. They follow the AAP vaccination schedule. My son had to go back into the hospital (Winthrop) the day after he came home after his birth. He had severe jaundice. Dr. Meckes, the head of the practice, took care of him. He was excellent and I knew my baby was in wonderful care. The doctor in the hospital wanted my son's levels and a certain number, and Dr. Meckes said, "No, I want to see it even better. Get the numbers down even more before you send this baby home. I don't want him to have to come back into the hospital." He was really great. I called a few times with quick questions, and I always got a response right away. One time, my son had a little diaper rash, and they called in a prescription right away. The rash was gone the next day. I called once when my son was a month old because he had a little bit of a high temperature. Dr. Wren answered the call and was SO unbelievably sweet to me and helpful. She actually called me the next morning from home because she wanted to know how he was doing. She wasn't even in the office that day. I went in to the office to see a different doctor that day and she was also great. I even called once just to ask what I should be feeding my son when he was in the middle of transitioning to solids. Again, they were helpful. They are open 7 days a week. I don't wait too long when I go. The most has been 20 minutes. I try to make my appointments in the morning when I can. They have two waiting rooms- sick and healthy. There is a TV and there are always videos on for the kids. There are no toys, which is good (fewer germs!). It is bright and colorful. Every room is painted for the kids to enjoy. The waiting room has an ocean life theme. It is very cute. They are affiliated with Winthrop. Maybe they are affiliated with another hospital, but I am not sure. One thing I do wish they did was keep their files on the computer. I know some pediatrician's offices started doing this like that and printing out info to give the parents when they leave. read more

My husband and I are very happy here. We love Dr Yaker. He is compassionate, warm and gladly answers all of our questions. We have also seen Dr Cohen and Meckes. They are accommodating and we usually do not wait more than 5 minutes to see the doctor. The rooms are kind of small. It is sometimes quite difficult to get someone on the phone when I call (they are quite busy), but they do return calls fairly fast. I wish they had digital scales, but they use regular ones and I find that weight varies slightly as a result, depending who is taking it. I believe they do take new patients, but only if it is a newborn. read more

I absolutely love our daughters pediatric team. We were admitted to the hospital when she was only 7 weeks old and I can't say enough good things about her doctors. They are particular about certain things that others aren't (such as only using RTF formula for the first 5 months), but I'm sure they have their reasons. My family has been using them for 20+ years and we all love them. I like that the newborn center is separate from the rest of the practice. You can be in and out for checkups without sitting next to a sick patient. I also love that they have Saturday and Sunday hours. Anytime we needed to call them, our call is returned in minutes. read more

I was very disappointed with my time at Seaford Pediatrics. I always felt rushed when I would bring my daughter in for her wellness visits. I decided to change pediatricians because I felt like I was missing that 1:1 time with my daughter's doctor especially being a first time mother. I was charged $.75 per page for my child's medical record. This was outrageously priced and was horrified that my one year old had 26 pages of medical records at this facility. I was not impressed and sad that this was my first experience as a new mother dealing with a pediatrician office. read more

My kids, now in their 20s, were some of the first patients of this practice even before the current location was built. Dr. Meckes is a wonderful physician who built a practice with some of the best pediatricians one will ever be fortunate enough to find. The doctors here weigh their decisions carefully, and are very compassionate. They are not alarmists nor do they brush off parents' concerns. I was always able to get an appointment the same day as needed. The office staff is wonderful and go out of their way to be helpful. Lauren was always especially kind and on top of things. My kids were able to stay with this practice even beyond college, although they have now aged out and moved away. I will be forever grateful to Drs. Meckes, Wren, and Yaker for their kindness and professionalism over 20+ years, and for always keeping the highest reason for practicing medicine in the forefront. read more

Have been going there for 23 years but recent visit totally turned me off. Due to last weeks snow storm and then an emergency we were unable to keep an appointment for one shot for my 16 year old I arrived early and despite being told they were running on time had to cancel my appointment. Literally one shot no check up nothing and they could not make the two minute time slot it to accommodate. Was not asking to take up time when someone was waiting just to give on shot. Very disappointing and I guess they really do not care about loyal clients. read more

My daughter is a week old and came 3 weeks early,I am also a first time mom. I did not have a pediatrician picked out for her so i used the one the hospital gave me. When i went to his office 3 days later i was unhappy with the visit so i called Seaford Pediatrics to get an appointment and they told me i can not be seen there because my daughter already saw a Dr. I was almost in tears because i didnt want to bring her back to the other place and pleaded with the lady to let me make an appointment. This office is close to my house and was given to me as a good recommendation and the lady just kept saying no no no. I think that is horrible to turn a newborn away she is a little over a week old not 6 months old were she would have somewhat of a medical records with shots and visits. I never write reviews but I am really upset that they turned me and my newborn away that is just horrible for a Dr.'s office to do. read more

We have been going to Seaford Pediatrics since our son was born. He is now almost four. The doctors are really great, very knowledgable and attentive. The problem, the office itself is run terrible, In the past 4 years, we have never been seen in less than a half hour. Eight out of ten visits you will wait at lest an hour. When you have a very sick child, an hour just doesn't cut it. In what has become our final appointment, we signed our son in, waited in the car (nice option they have), after about a half hour we decided it wasn't fair to our son and we brought him to a pediatric clinic. The clinic, saw our son right away, diagnosed him with pneumonia and we were then on our way to the pharmacy. We then received a call from Seaford Pediatrics stating "we are ready for your son". This was an hour and a half after we signed him in!!! I understand that pediatrician offices can get busy, but this was the third and final time this exact story happened to us. We are now going to go to another pediatrician, sad because they really are such great doctors. To bad they are overshadowed by a rude and obnoxious office staff. read more
