The Somersworth PT Dover crew was an excellent experience from the office to actual physical…read moretherapists and the therapy itself! I mainly worked with Dan Lombardi, but I was also occasionally scheduled with Veronica Downs. Gale from the front desk was always super helpful in regards to working with me and my schedule and finding me time slots. Before I had injured myself, I used to love to run, but after I couldn't jog or even walk one block before having to hobble back home in defeat. Dishes being my main chore at home, was painful to stand more than 30 minutes or even lay down for extended periods of time. I have always had a bad lower back due to being born with a tethered spinal cord and having surgery to correct it when I was an infant. What brought me to SPT Dover was I hurt my lower back on an Assault Runner in the gym this past winter. It felt like my hips and spine were compressing on my nerves, thus, shooting pain down my left leg whenever I'd sit, stand, lay down, etc. When I finally was able to find a new PCP, I was recommended/ referred to Somersworth Physical Therapy; partially because of their glowing reputation, but also because it was conveniently in the same building. Dan also took my initial financial concerns seriously from the start of my intake- I didn't want to spend a fortune on PT, nor did I have a fortune to spend on it... but I was also determined to get rid of my pain by any means necessary. I took doing my homework exercises seriously and it genuinely made a difference in both my pain level and recovery timeline. While I believe that dry needling definitely aided in loosening my compressed scar tissue, it also was unfortunately not covered by insurance. However when it came time, Dan remembered by initial concerns and suggested we just give it 4-5 sessions- if it didn't work or help, we'd stop. Through various exercises, stretches, massage, Graston massage, cupping, and dry needling we were able to get my lower back back to normal. I was even able to continue working out at my CrossFit gym by just eliminating or scaling certain movements with Dan's guidance. I was able to "graduate" from PT in approximately 13 sessions from late June through August. Highly recommend the Somersworth PT Dover office! They are friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. Hopefully I don't need PT again anytime soon, but if I do, I'd definitely return to SPT Dover.

I am…read morefairly new to the area so both Seacoast Physical Therapy and Dr. Cecily Cannon were both new to me. Back was making it hard for me to walk short distances. It was also impossible to walk upright. I am now upright (for the most part) and have been going to the gym for 3 weeks now 3-4 times a week. That would have not been possible without Seacoast. A lot of my gym routine is similar to what my rehab was. I am now starting to check in less with Seacoast. I slowed down there with a commitment from Matt to have the gym contact him anytime with any questions, concerns or updates. Matt had expectations for performance from me that ramped up as my body started to heal. Their rehabilitation regimen, I found to be quite effective. He is young, professional, enthusiastic, knowledgeable and a pleasure to work with. Also, the rest of the staff at Seacoast are great! Thank you Shannon, Nancy, Ann Marie and Matt. If you are broke go see them. They will fix you!

At the same fall I also broke my left hip. Complications set in & finally after 30 days I was released from the hospital to rehab for just shy of two weeks. My favorite Therapist Dr. Katie just went skiing & had a bad experience. She's out of work for quite sometime. For whatever reason I can't import the picture I took of both of them. Check out my yelp review to see the photo.

I came across CJ Physical Therapy & Pilates purely by chance, and I can say with certainty that it…read morehas completely restored my quality of life in less than 3 months time. After suffering from severe back pain for almost 3 years, I followed the general route of seeking care through an orthopedic office (Access Sports Medicine). This resulted in wasting thousands of dollars and valuable time (4+ months), with no results or improvement. After months of expensive and ineffective PT, I was told steroid injections or surgery would be the next best option with little to no confidence from my physician that the recommended course of treatment would result in improvements. I am SO grateful that I found CJ PT before I went through with the steroid injections as it could have resulted in a vicious cycle of injections, never actually solving the root of the problem. I learned more from CJ PT than I ever did from my physician; mechanical pain is different from chemical pain and should not be treated the same, herniations can heal with corrective movements, and steroid injections can mask the pain leading to further injury. The team at CJ PT was incredibly informative, educated me on ways to protect my back and help it heal and slowly introduced strength exercises to help get me back to baseline. Dr. Jill is phenomenal. She gave me the tools I needed to begin healing my body and got me back to playing with my kids and reintroducing activity back into my life. It has truly been one of the best experiences and I could not recommend CJ PT & Pilates enough.
