Excellent evening out for dinner (both nights, we went back for more)…read moreThis family is the definition of hospitality, great atmosphere, and the Food.....ah the Food!! I previously signed up for the menu email and Robert/owner is very attentive to an email reservation request.... .....the atmosphere when you arrive is beautiful, it's so special you know a great evening is ahead. The whole family is involved with this restaurant, all are kind and fun. I am only sorry I did not meet the chef/owner Rosy so I could thank her for the wonderful food. We had the chili Relleno stuffed with beef and table mates enjoyed the chicken/shrimp fajitas.....return trip we all devoured the chili Relleno stuffed with shrimp, and we ordered additional entree of pasta Alfredo with chicken to share. The appetizer empanada with chipotle cream....amazing!! The chocolate cake...so good, so good, so good!! They have a great selection of tequilas, and they make a wonderful mojito. Go enjoy a memorable nite out in Barra de Navidad.

Maybe we had different expectations, but we were not impressed. A very cute concept, art gallery…read morefeel with a limited menu every night. Basically two choices of main dish and dessert. You start with an amuse-bouche, which to me was the highlight of the meal. The portions were small for the price. It is a set price for dinner, including dessert and a plate of fun goodies for the fire pit, while you listen to live music after dinner. I was very disappointed in the owner, he seemed very full of himself and gave us no chance to interact. He shared his story with little to no interest in ours and we were fellow cruisers. Mostly the expats and cruisers come here. If you want an experience like you are in the states, this is the place to come. I'd rather a local restaurant, with the locals.

They have greatly expanded and have taken over part of an adjacent building for additional kitchen space. They have a nice menu which takes advantage of locally available foods as well as some brought in from garter away. Local seafood featured prominently, as do pasta dishes and some creative salads. They also have some gringo style steaks (thick, aged beef) and BBQ ribs on the menu. They have a reasonable wine and beer list and also make good cocktails. We enjoyed their Besame Mucho margaritas which were nicely balanced. My wife had the blackberry dorado dish. Nice pieces of dorado with a slightly spice blackberry glaze. I opted for the BBQ ribs. They came separated into individual ribs which were grilled and covered with a slightly sweet spicy sauce. Very tasty! They came with an half eat of corn and a baked potato topped with mayonnaise and bacon. I want crazy about the mayo, but it was very Mexican. We didn't have it this time, but in the past we've had their caprese salad as an appetizer and found it very good. This time we had there guacamole and chips which was fresh and good. This visit they had a live guitarist playing covers from the 70s to the 90s. He was good, but a little loud for conversation. A good place that deserves business.
