I have to say, without a doubt, DJ's Painting & Remodeling Services was absolutely the most professional and the most comprehensive estimate that we received. We still need to make a decision about going forward with having the house painted, but I can tell you this, whether we have it painted or not or when we have it painted, we will absolutely be going only with DJ's Painting & Remodeling Services. The owner came out looked at the house, took his time, asked many questions (this house was built in 1870 and an addition was put on about 35 years ago so there was a lot to consider) spent time photographing, and was very interested in helping us with this unique house. The next day I got a call from his office to set up a date for us to come back in and go over the estimate; the best I've gotten from any of the others was an email to estimate or a phone call saying they were interested. We attended the estimate meeting, and were greeted by the staff who were all wonderful and nice, the office is very professional, and we met with the owner himself to go over the estimate. There was one for each my wife and I, along with an assistant to help us look at photographs and pictures as well as even a few color options when going through the estimate. The estimate came in right about where I thought it was going to be, and a little higher than my wife thought it was going to be, but I feel absolutely certain, just based on the experience so far, that they would do an amazing job painting our historic home! We received a follow up call about a week later, and I let them know that we were still looking at timing. So far I have been so impressed with their professionalism, how well their office runs and is managed, The jobs that they were able to show us they had already completed in the area on similar homes, and their commitment to the Bloomington and normal area and it's history, including their office building. I can't wait to have them paint our home in the spring and be able to update this with pictures and more great review information!

The man did not bring proper tools, kept saying he would, never did, and I ended up buying the tool to try and expedite. Owner never tried to provide tools needed and blamed the guy he hired. Week one was spent taking up 200 sq ft of old floor but not all the motar. Power said he had aa crew down with prior job. Could start Monday. I would have all three. I had 3 guys half a day. Ended up one guy, everyone else gone. Poor communication. One day I am told "tomorrow, final demo and dry fitting cement board. Didn't happen. There was another day of demo and some incorrect dry fitting. This is the point at which I said no more. What really sent me over the edge was they turned my water off on Wednesday and I advised multiple times I had an appointment and needed to leave by 230. The owner was supposed to come back before I.Left and turned the water back on. He texted me at two twenty seven and said he was about twenty minutes away. I was so mad and I had to go, so I did if they were. Said he'd come back that night later from Bloomington. I guess and turn the water back on, but I said, forget it. I tried to do it myself, and I couldn't, so I spent a night without water. It is so disrespectful, in my opinion to tell somebody. You will be there before they leave. But then don't be there, and they end up having a night without any water. I had new flooring company come out who said as they looked in the bathroom that they had broken my plumbing pipe.Now I have to have that replaced and have a drywall person in to fix that. I asked for a refund of the unspent.Amount I had paid up front. The owner is giving me the run. Around and now he won't respond at all. I have a lot of texts that show everything i'm saying, if anybody wants to see them. The owner told me that I have very unrealistic expectations. That could be true. But when the new flooring guys told me what it would take to fix the problems this company caused, it's less time than these guys already spent here. One of the workers for this company also told me that the they have been working on a job in Champaign for a month and a half, and they're nowhere near done. That's unverified by me. But now I have to sue this guy to get my money back. Also to get money for the plumbing that they damaged.And the drywall repair, which is another three hundred and fifty dollars. Beware. The values you read on their website which say what they are committed to are absolutely untrue, as it relates to my experience with them.

We stopped at the CertaPro Painters booth, spoke with Brendan, made an appointment for an estimate and we're happy Brendan showed up when he said he would. We thought finally a contractor that shows up and we can use...we were wrong. The one star is because Brendan showed up, but after we told him we purchased paint and were not sure how much of the job we could get done things went downhill. We reached out to get a revised estimate and start date, after a week of no response we called Brendan again. He apologized as he'd been out of town and would give us a revised estimate, well we never heard from Brendan again. We reached out to another painter, luckily he came when he said, we had him give an estimate as Brendan originally did. We ended up using this painter, price was better, and we decided to get everything painted as initially estimated by Brendan because we decided to keep the deck and shed. We've gotten several compliments from neighbors who are thinking of painting their homes. We liked Brendan, we let him know at the expo how other painters/contractors have flaked and he said he/CertaPro would never do that, we are extremely disappointed that Brendan did what others have done. Our neighbors used the term he "ghosted" us so the other painter will be getting their business.
