B & Q on Frith Street next door to Asda is a huge B & Q warehouse. It has a very large car park…read morearea which also contains recycling bins, and despite there being a coffee bar/cafe within the store there is usually a burger van selling eats in the car park. The store has a large garden centre area, lots of sheds, summerhouses, fencing and large outdoor equipment is on display. Also lots of aggregates and bark chippings, huge bags of compost etc. There is a range of pots and containers and a limited range of plants. It is worth noting though that the plants are not always very healthy specimens. Indoors are more plants - usually slightly better looked after and seeds etc. The main body of the store is taken up with all things diy from electricals to paints, tiles, wallpapers, tools, kitchens, bathrooms, storage, heating systems, soft furnishings, fireplaces etc etc. The far end of the store is a builders yard, flagging , sand, aggregates, decking, and lots of other heavy builders supplies. The cafe and toilets are clean and comfortable, decent cup of coffee - expensive sandwiches. Staff are very helpful and knowledgeable and customer services good if you have a problem

Apart from none of the units being a good fit and the doors already having fallen off, none of the kick boards sit in place, the under unit lights have never worked properly. I chose and paid for a worcester, energy efficient bolier and actually got a cheap baxi condenser....... I complained and wrote letters but got fobbed off with the excuse that the owner was suffering from early Alziemers..... They unbelievably made me feel guilty for complaining!!!!! I wish I had taken them to court and either got my money back or the job finished to the correct standard but it just left me so upset I didn't have the strength to pursue them. I would urge anybody to think twice before letting this long established bunch of cowboys near your beloved home.

This branch is located in the Middlebrook Retail Park in the Horwich area of Bolton. I came into this store, while walking around the retail park and I hate to say it but I was really disappointing. I had no acknowledgement from any member of staff whether that be a greeting or to check if I am okay/if they could help with anything, which was a shame. The store overall doesn't feel too nice, in a way it just feels like a mess and I noticed very few items (if any) worth a second look. I'm struggling to come up with anything good to describe this store, it just seemed really poor in terms of overall layout, range and service so sadly deserves a single one star which is a shame to do considering this is my first review for a Homebase store and I am also first to review this branch on Yelp.
