Service Point belongs to a chain specialising in print, binding, posters etc. As a student I got a reasonable discount. However, colour prints are expensive in London and especially as a student you think twice before printing something. I guess my wedding present will be a colour photocopier! Roy, the manager who is running this branch is very friendly and tries as much as possible to meet your inquiries. I normally dropped of a CD in the morning and came back in the evening to get the printed work. They usually call you when the work is done. I printed my business cards and binded a lot of reports. For silkscreen prints they can print on A2 tracing papers as well as A2 acetates. If they have less work you even can ask them to print your work immediately, which saves you time to come twice. I remember once the manager even stayed in late as one of my prints have not come out the way I expected. Even if you think the staff is a bit ignorant at first, you will soon find them helping you the best they can, even if it means you give them instructions standing next to them on the screen. The quickest way to get the job done asap is by e-mailing them!

This happened the other day at which point I panicked and shuffled off to source me some new print ink. On my travels I cam across these guy's and popped in and purchased what I needed. The were really good, had what I wanted in stock, I paid and started to walk out. This is when I came across the sign that said they delivered FREE within 90 minutes, Genius. So as usual two-three moths after the last toner was placed it was again over and I needed a new one. I went to some other stores but they told me they are out of this type of toner because it's too old and only few people are still using it. I found this Print Shop and I'm lucky because they not only solved my problem but did it fast. And I forgot completely my thoughts about buying new printer (hehe)

I had a booklet with mixed colour and black and white. Other printers said they would charge me for all colour, but they split the cost, which made for large savings. I found the online designing software easy and quick to use, and so simple to upload my images to the site and change the fonts and colours on my cards, with the option of as many text and image fields as I wanted, placed wherever I wanted them. The offer is only available for one sided business cards, the other side has the easyprint logo on it - I would have preferred double sided cards - and the edges of some of my cards are a bit random, I suppose where they have been printed in grid formation on a big sheet of card and then cut up by machines; so they are not perfect, but they are completely free! They arrived on time, in good packaging and so in perfect condition, and I received emails when they'd been dispatched and were on their way. I have already shown the cards to lots of my friends at uni - fellow art students - and recommended the website to them, as I do to you. Notting Hill Gate is such a weird high street with not that many useful shops remaining. I almost wish I had more reason to visit the Print House than for the odd occasion when I run out of business cards. The level of service even for irregular small order clients like me is impeccable. They keep my details on file which takes the pain out of the whole process. Compare this to the time wasted on the special offers that come in by email every now and again ... I was actually tempted by a recent discount offered by printing.com. I wasted a fair amount of time trying to recreate my rather simple design on their website but failed. You'd have to pay upfront and request a call from an actual designer (design advice comes at a premium) - no chance! As the email actually mentioned a printing shop in Soho in its footer, I popped in on a recent visit to the area - just to be told rather brusquely that they are a printing shop, not a design company. But back to the real world and the Print House. I had to wait a little while for the designer to become available. He immediately found my old file, updated the info and went straight to print. No extra charge for super-fast turnaround or for an actual human being doing his job. He managed to serve several people at once and everyone left happy. The shop perfectly reflects a proper working environment, definitely my preference over impersonal websites and branded shopfronts without the backup. And to top it all, the overall cost beat that of the online 'deal'!

Anyway, this place does a lot of them. They also sell cards and paints, all sorts of art supplies and there are services too, photocopying, laminating and the like. They do plenty of kid friendly colouring-in sets, books and cards as well. So, basically they've got the farty bit of arty covered. (Not saying your kids are farty obv.) Good place and the staff there are always pretty eager to help - all in all, well stoked and well looked after.
