I have seen Dr Morar a couple of times for medication management. She is very flaky and she is also…read morevery forgetful. She does not return calls and changes her mind left and right. I have NEVER experienced a psychiatrist like her. Although she is nice, I would not recommend her. She forgot what she prescribed me (look in your damn computer lady). I received a prescription from her. I returned it 3 days later so that she could write me a new prescription for my previous dosage. After leaving many messages, I received no call back. Finally a lady left me a message that I could pick my prescription up on Tuesday. I called Wednesday and the receptionist said she would call me back after Dr Morar replied to her message. I received no call, so I called back. The receptionist told me that Dr Morar would come by the East Greenwich location later that evening to drop off my prescription. The receptionist said she would call me once it was ready. I received no call once again. I called back the next day and another receptionist messaged her and Dr Morar said that I had to wait until my appointment the next week. Now I'm a whole month without my prescription. I must have had 10 requests for Dr Morar to call me back so that I can explain. She never contacted me. I also want to add that she always writes my med changes, etc on a word document and gives it to me at the end of the session. The first time she never sent my prescriptions to the pharmacy. She said she did and I had to have the pharmacy call to clarify that they never received my prescriptions. The next month she gave me the sheet with med changes (take 1 1/2 pills and then on June 2nd take 2). I fill my prescription and it was only for 30 pills (should be 45 pills if I'm taking 1 1/2) the pharmacy called her to get clarification and she said that I am only to take one. My sheet specifically stated to take 2 on June 2nd. The pharmacy called her and she said she's only prescribing one. WTF? I have it in writing and she's not remembering or even bothering to check her notes. To sum things up, the B$&!@ must have Alzheimer's and/or avoidance with lack of follow up or concern for her patients mental stability. I requested to change doctors and I was advised that is not allowed at Lifespan outpatient mental health clinic. I was advised that if I want to change doctors, I would have to go elsewhere. Common sense says switching to another doctor in the same office would be beneficial because they can read the notes. So I'm stuck with this flake because hopping around to different psychiatric offices will make me look like I am doctor shopping. I am so frustrated. I just want to feel better and she's making it difficult.

I drive over an hour each way to see her and it's been so worth it. I originally went to see Marisa for extreme anxiety and ongoing sleep issues, after trying what felt like every modality out there: somatic exercises, journaling, therapy, BIT, meditation, breath-work...you name it. While many of those helped in their own ways, nothing truly moved the needle for me the way hypnoacupuncture with Marisa has. From my very first session, there was an obvious shift. Even the people around me noticed. After that first session, the tension in my shoulders decreased, and the only way I can describe it is that everything (physically & mentally) felt like it had been taken down a notch. Since working with her, my sleep has completely transformed. I went from having an extremely hard time falling asleep and waking up almost every hour, to now pretty much sleeping through the night. If I do wake up, I can fall back asleep easily, and I'm even dreaming a lot which I take as a sign I'm finally getting deep, restful sleep. I've seen such drastic improvements that I genuinely feel like I have a new baseline. I feel so much more in control of my anxiety now and honestly like a completely different person than I was just a few months ago. It's been truly life changing. I honestly wish I could see her weekly. The closest way I can describe how you feel leaving a session is like you just had a massage; you're so relaxed, grounded, and at ease. Marisa has truly touched my life. She is genuinely an angel. She listens, she cares deeply, and she is incredibly dedicated to her clients. If she doesn't have an answer right away, she always follows up, whether by email or the next time you see her, which says so much about the level of thought and attention she gives. I don't feel comfortable around many people, but there's something about her energy that is so light and reassuring. She creates such a safe, welcoming environment, and it makes all the difference. Dr. Kelley is the most kind and giving man I've ever met…read more 30 years ago, he and his wife sponsored my family from Vietnam. They didn't know who we were, but wanted to help. They saved our lives. Despite having 3 kids of their own, they adopted an orphan from Vietnam. And since sponsoring us, they have sponsored 4 other families from Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia. I don't know if you all know what a burden it is to sponsor a family. You are physically and finanacially responsible for these people until they can get on their feet. It's easier said than done. Just imaginge a whole family of strangers (who don't speak your language) living with you. They have opened up their hearts and their home for people in need. And for the past 23 years, Dr. Kelley has been traveling to Haiti ( a place in political turmoil) twice a year to work in the local hospital and help with the local orphans. He and his wife will be traveling there next year to also help reform the educational system. What a truly wonderful man! If you live in this area, is there any doubt as to which doctor you should see?

Kelley needs to be recognized as a great Dr. as well as a humanitarian. It does not surprise me to see what Tu D. wrote about Dr. Kelley, I knew that he went to Haiti twice a year and that he had adopted a child from Vietnam but the sponsorship of families was something I didn't know about, but that really doesn't surprise me.... I've had Dr. Kelly as my PCP for a few years now and have always found him to be an incredibly caring individual who also is a really good, practical, doctor. don't expect a lot of bells and whistles when you go to his office, in fact he will probably complain to you about how the "damn computers" are making his life as a doctor a living hell... Do expect to find someone who will listen to you, treat you as an expert in your own care, and work with you to fix whatever is broken. He doesn't automatically reach for the prescription pad, but may just tell you why your mom was right about chicken soup is good for you when you have a cold and the science behind it.... I would strongly recommend that anyone go to see Dr. Kelley, being a good guy goes a long way in being a good doctor... and he's a great guy.
