He completed the job on schedule and the quality of his work exceeded my expectations. Thomas reinforced my T-top, addressing the structural concerns I had, and also polished the T-top metal, leaving it looking noticeably better than before. He even fixed one of my blow fuses free of charge because he had extra in his bag of tools. It's hard to find a reliable mobile marine mechanic who communicates well, shows up when promised, and delivers quality workmanship, but Thomas checked all those boxes. I'll definitely be hiring Rhino Marine again for future projects on my boat.

He was here for about an hour, didn't figure out what was wrong, didn't fix anything, didn't explain anything, and just left. No results, no answers, nothing. Later that same day, my uncle (who's a certified mechanic) came over and had the issue fixed in under 10 minutes. I reached out and asked for a partial refund since nothing was diagnosed or repaired, and his response was basically that "his time is valuable." That's ridiculous. So is charging people for doing absolutely nothing. Not someone I'd ever call again or recommend. Showed up late, didn't help, and refused to take any responsibility. Complete waste of time and money.

In November, Scott told me it would actually be $150, then $125 starting January. Then on November 25, they changed their mind again and said it would start in December instead of January. The Boatyard also admitted in writing that these electricity charges were only estimates and that there is no sub-meter or any real measurement of our actual usage. So these amounts are not based on real consumption at all, just numbers they choose. When we asked how they calculate electricity, instead of giving a clear explanation, we were told that if we're unhappy, we should leave. We still agreed to pay the $75 they announced. But after they accepted our full January rent, Michael told us to leave anyway and even threatened to put a lien on our boat. This is not transparent or fair business practice. Constantly changing prices, no real usage measurement, and pressure tactics after taking full rent. I would not recommend this marina.

I've been working with them since arriving in MDR from SF in 2016, so more than seven years, and give them a big thumbs up. Anyone with a saildrive knows the headaches they can cause. CC have serviced the engine and saildrive many times and have always done a top notch job. Their techs work with these systems all day long and have a deep base of knowledge & experience to help quickly diagnose root causes when issues arise. Rodrigo and Manny are a pleasure to deal with in coordinating support, and they stand behind their work. Carl even took care of pulling the boat and inspecting / replacing the SD seals after a suspected case of saltwater intrusion - all under warranty. My sail drive work over the past seven years has included installing a new leg on my SD-50 after the old one became corroded, lapping & later replacing the cone clutch, and inspecting / installing new seals. Engine work includes servicing and recent replacement of the damper plate.

I’m a professional detailer and an active boat owner based in Marina del Rey, so I understand what sun, salt, and time really do to gelcoat, paint, vinyl, and metal. I work on everything from daily-driver SUVs to oxidized sailboats, and my goal is simple: Make it shine, protect it, and make you proud of it again. What makes me different: • Marine + Auto specialist – I detail cars, trucks and boats, with real experience in fiberglass, gelcoat, oxidation removal, and metal polishing. • Owner-operated – You deal with one person who actually cares, not a rushed rotating crew. I take time on details most people skip. • Mobile service – I come to your dock, slip, driveway, or garage with professional tools and products. • Protection-focused – Wash, paint correction, wax/ceramic, glass and metal protection – everything is aimed at long-term protection, not just a quick shine for photos. • Honest, clear pricing – Straight-forward per-foot / per-vehicle pricing, no surprise add-ons.

We had the bottom of our boat painted here and a some major work done before going cruising. The workers did an amazing job. They took out and put back in our very heavy generator through a very narrow cockpit and out and above the boat without ever touching a side and laid it back down gently (not dropping it through the bottom of the boat as could have happened). They did this with two people-one looking below giving hand signals to the driver and controller who could not see any of this. These guys were pros. One of the nicest things was being able to live aboard while work was being done. Very important when you are a full time live aboard. We have been working with them to get a quote on a job to paint the hill of a boat. It's more difficult since they use an outside contractor to do the painting. Windward would charge for the haul out and days in the yard plus miscellaneous fees. I recommend Windward. I trust their work.
