My wife and I came over from…read moreNew York for a tour of both islands, renting a Triumph Tiger 800 for the South and BMW F650GS twin for the North. Both Bike's were immaculately prepared and ready to go as soon as we arrived. John, Perry and the rest of the staff in Christchurch and Aiden at the Auckland depot were wonderful. Even though we had two separate rental transactions, they took one bond for the whole trip (upon return of the first bike with no damage obviously). At both locations they took the time to go over the motorcycles prior to handing them over. Time was taken to ensure that the condition of the bikes were agreed upon before they left the property as well as pointing out certain idiosyncrasies (I'm looking at you silly BMW turn signals!). My wife is eternally grateful for the touring seat thoughtfully fitted to the BMW, instead of the stock item which would have degraded the pillion experience significantly. We had a minor issue with the fuel tank breather tube becoming clogged in Queenstown that was easily solved. After a quick call to the office they arranged for it to be checked out by Central Yamaha in Frankston right away to be sure it was nothing more and we were on our way to Mt. Cook with plenty of peace of mind. When plans changed slightly we had no problem reaching them to arrange an early return time. Everyone was eager to offer their local knowledge as to the best roads to take and our trip was exponentially better because of it, even inviting us to the local bike night at Smash Palace. We look forward to using Te Waipounamu our next trip to New Zealand!

My wife bought a Ebike from Electrify…read more 4 weeks ago, at the end of May, we had it serviced as requested. We were told it was "in the best shape of any (of that brand) bike the tech had seen after 3 years." We were also told the rear tyre tread was low, and it needed a new tyre. They changed the tyre and other standard service, and we took the bike home. The next morning, the new tyre was flat. I pumped it up for my wife, and she rode it to work, and came back. The next morning it was low - but I noticed the valve cap wasnt on, so I pumped it up again, and left it. 2 weeks later, she went to ride it again, and it was again flat - she had never had a flat in 3 years. I pumped it up again, she rode it, and put it away. Today she went to ride it again, it was flat - I pumped it up, but she had to call me to be rescued because it leaked to the point of being flat within an hour. I called Electrify, and they said "too bad, its been 3 months" "No it has only been 4 weeks" "We cant do anything since its been 3 months" "No its been only 4 weeks" "Well its been more than 2 weeks. Shoulda said something mate - probably a puncture. We'll look at it, and charge you, and replace it and charge you." Clearly they caused a pinch puncture installing the tyre - nothing else makes sense. It went flat *before it was ridden*, after being taken from the shop. I explained why it took so long to report (seldom ridden, thought it might have been a one off thing with the valve cap off, etc) but I was treated like I was tryng to hustle them. They refused to take any responsibility, accused me of lying - an all around a very bad experience, and rude. Also, apparently the tech people cant change a tyre without puncuring the tube.

In the front window there was a lot of gear focused on trail running in inclement weather. Sneakers, rain gear, feather-weight backpacks. There were also leashes and packs for dogs. What prompted me to add this shop to Yelp and provide this review is the fabulous customer service received from Martin. I arrived in NZ when most outdoor stores in Christchurch were closed. FurtherFaster was the only store in the area that carried my preferred tent make/model. I sent an email to the store, and Martin agreed to open up on Sunday so I could make my purchase. I've never heard of this level of service back home in the States. When I praised Martin for his flexibility and excellent customer service, his response was 'No drama'. Very cool! Highly recommended.
