I stayed here for a week to attend a meeting in Montgomery…read more The staff was exceptional. Check-in and check-out was quick and easy, and every staff member I interacted with was friendly. The room was wonderful. Very, very quiet. I never heard any of my neighbors or any traffic in the hallway. This has to be one of the quietest rooms I've ever stayed in, anywhere. It was clean upon arrival, and there were no weird smells or other oddities. One ding that made the stay much less bearable was the "smart" thermostat. Kudos to the chain for wanting to do something green and eco friendly, but seriously? Putting a smart thermostat in the living room? During the night, regardless of how you set it, it will go back to "away" mode. And of course, if you put it in the bedroom, it won't notice traffic in the living room. I enjoy sleeping in a cooler room, like 67 or so. Going to bed with the thermostat set to that and waking up to 73 was not enjoyable in the least. Once I figured out the trick, if I had to get up for a midnight run to the john, I'd give the thermostat some "activity" and all was good then. I enjoy having the fan running all night for white noise. The HVAC had this ability, but it was so quiet, it wasn't really worth it. Not a big deal though, since the room was pretty darn quiet overall. Plenty of hot water for the shower. Never ran out, never had low pressure. The pillows were all super soft. I'm seeing a trend with this. Seems like every stay I've had recently in hotels has featured soft pillows. Attention, hotel chains! Some of us like a firmer pillow. Mix it up maybe? With 4 pillows on the bed, maybe make 2 soft and two a bit more on the firm side? Plenty of outlets including USB ports, too. Super nice touch there. Since this was a Homewood Suites, there was a full sized fridge/freezer in the room, along with a microwave, stove, dishwasher, and kitchen sink. A set of utensils, plates, and glasses were also available. If you were staying here long term, you wouldn't have to go out to eat every night. The breakfast was good, no complaints there at all. The hotel has an outdoor pool, gym, and there are printers available. There's also a little barbecue area near the pool and an outside fireplace that appeared to be gas. One of the elevators needed a little maintenance, as the floor was damaged and needed to be replaced. There was also some minor repair needed in my room, with a towel hook falling off the wall and a leaking faucet in the tub/shower. There are definitely plenty of places to eat nearby. For longer term stays, shopping spots as well. Overall, the say was quite pleasant. I'd stay here again anytime.

As other pictures indicate, these rooms are clean and very well organized. The beds are queen sized and strike the right balance between plush and support. As someone who prefers his mattresses on the firm side, I instantly passed out and woke up fully refreshed. I woke up to an adequately stocked continental breakfast: eggs, sausage, biscuits, country gravy, cereals, juices, and coffees in a comfortable lounge area near the front desk. I chuckled reading Edward S.'s comment about the faucet head. Yes, that was disorienting. You have to rotate it twice to get to hot and it did take a moment longer than I would have liked to warm up. I also noticed that our bathroom didn't have a separate switch for the fan. It's a good thing my bunk mate in advance about the epic bomb he dropped in the toilet. To quote Friday, yes, I shouldn't have gone in there for 35-45 minutes. So, yeah, that... I don't know when I'll be back in Montgomery, but I'd stay here again. I also appreciate that Holiday Inn's express brand means that you get all the necessary amenities for a comfortable stay at an affordable price.

Not once…read moreduring my entire stay did housekeeping come to clean the room, take out trash, replace towels, restock toilet paper, vacuum, or change the sheets. I even went to the front desk multiple times to request service and nobody ever showed up. I eventually had to start going to the industrial laundry room myself to ask the laundry attendant for clean towels while bringing my dirty ones down like I was running my own housekeeping service. I also had to repeatedly go to the front desk just to get toilet paper. By the end of the stay, I had to buy my own cleaning supplies and trash bags from Walmart because the room had become so dirty and nobody from the hotel seemed remotely concerned. For the amount paid to stay here, basic cleanliness and service should not be optional. This was one of the worst extended hotel experiences I've ever had. Completely unacceptable management and customer service. The only positive was the lady that ran the breakfast area. She was amazing and truly cared about the patrons. Had I not been booked here due to work I would have moved hotels immediately.

We came here because it was my husband's first time visiting Alabama and going to see the comedy show, The 85 South Show. We're very pleased with our stay. The lady at the front desk was very nice and informing us on everything within the area and within the hotel, there's continental breakfast that's between 6:00 am through 9:00 am, vending machines in the lobby and the room was very clean. We definitely recommend you to stay here if you're just visiting Alabama for a short trip.

As soon as we arrived we hadn't even gotten out of the car yet and a panhandler approached. He stood beside my door and said, "Hey mama you wanna give me some money?" and then stood there so close that I couldn't even open my door. We found out there is a homeless camp next door, and it seems that approaching the hotel guests to ask for money is a regular occurrence. This hotel has been renovated and our queen room was very nice. It was small, but clean and the shower was clean. I wouldn't really recommend staying in this hotel due to panhandling in the parking lot. Hotel guests shouldn't have to dodge people asking for money just to get from their cars to the hotel entrance.

The lady that answered the phone was so sweet. She said unfortunately they were out of rooms with 2 beds but she would be glad to provide me with a rollaway bed. I even verified the area with her because I'm not very familiar with Montgomery but know there are some bad areas there. Even told her I originally booked a suite on Carmichael Ave and she said no ma'm, please don't stay in that area. She said Eastchase is the safest and best area to stay in Montgomery and she was right. When we got to the hotel, the staff was so nice the whole time!!! The room was clean and of if I needed anything, they were more than accommodating. Not to mention the lobby smells so good!! I even asked them what air freshener they used. Each day we were there, they grease us with a smile and in my last day, they even remembered my son was performing at a concert at ASU and wished him good luck. The absolute best part.....my 14 year old son does what 14 year old boys do and didnt check to make sure he packed everything. He left very expensive pair of jeans and a hoodie in the drawer. Not only did they go and retrieve it for me when I called but the held onto it for 2 weeks until I could find the time to drive back to get them AND the were so very nice about it. If you are ever in this area, I would VERY MUCH recommend them. Plus the area is awesome and full of shopping centers and food places.
